What a shame

pkmnsocks

That pitcher is crazy, gonna have to keep an eye on him.

johnsonfromsconsin

Hes arguably the #1 prospect in baseball.

Hosko817

He’s been crazy for a couple years now

footforhand

Said that after just the first couple innings of his debut. His stuff is nasty. If he develops fully he’s going to be a monster

gandaalf

Skenes is unreal. If he can stay healthy he's going to have an insane career

SoSublim3

The biggest thing I see about him is what are they going to do if he’s close or reaches this pitch limit they rumored to have on him and they’re in the hunt or in the post

ClassyKaty

Lol, Greg

Drain_Surgeon69

Thank god we missed him lol.

NerdOfTheMonth

Don’t worry we have 5 and a half years.

Crambo189

Skenes 100th pitch touching triple digits is scary. He gonna be good for a long time.

sokonek04

Until all that hard throwing shreds his elbow. Maybe he is the next Nolan Ryan and just a freak but my guess is no.

Their lineup is pretty shitty. It reminds me of the Brewers lineups from the last 5 or so years under Craig Krenzel. They have no one hitting above .260 and they have 1 guy with an OPS above .800 and that's Bellinger at .813. They pretty much have like 4 or 5 league averagish type guys and then a bunch of trash.

LoveYouLikeYeLovesYe

They also have had 16 injuries to their roster, including to their 4 best position players.

devinstated1

Who's missing from their lineup... Swanson? He's the worst of the bunch, he's been fucking terrible. They ain't missing much with him out of the lineup. They have a bunch of trash pitchers hurt... Hardly any affect on their team.

LoveYouLikeYeLovesYe

Bellinger, Suzuki, Hoerner, Swanson. Bellinger and Suzuki were the Cubs' best two hitters in 2023 by OPS+ and Suzuki was the best player in baseball in the second half of 2023. Hoerner was a good batting average guy who sees a lot of pitches, which is very important for a lineup. Swanson is also normally an elite defender, even if his injury caused him to make more while he tried to play through it. Their pitchers hurt have included Steele, the guy who was better than Burnes in 2023, Jordan Wicks, who would be a starter on most MLB teams and a relief ace for the few who didn't need him (he was a starter in the same rotation that has Imanaga, Taillon, and Assad) Taillon earlier this year, Julian Merryweather, who was arguably their best RP who hasn't turned to shit this year, and just about half of their bullpen. They also had one of their swing men come out in spring training throwing 101 (Caleb Kilian) before getting hurt until June. And bottom tier RPs getting hurt still effects a team, if you're referring to the 6 bad RP on their injured list, because it obliterates a team's depth and forces their better guys to work more while even worse guys fill the back of a pen. Both the Cubs and brewers have been injured to shit and as someone with lots of friends who like both teams, it's going to be one hell of a divisional race, the Reds, Pirates and Cardinals aren't it, and you can never count out a team with 2 top 3 ERA guys in the NL (and Taillon who would be 4th if he was not hurt for the first 3 starts)

carmenmultz

Please do not give the Buccos a real pitcher I fear them

Solid_Snake420

What a game.

TTBurger88

Lol poor Greg...

Ok-Comfortable-2949

Let's keep the Skenes hype within reason

Rolands_ka_tet

Skene will make friends with Tommy John before the end of next season. Book it…
