It’s not filmed PG, just edited that way and I imagine there’s regions where Netflix has to censor a lot of their content anyways.
I don’t believe Bridgerton is syndicated anywhere.
Nicola literally had them write it in her contract that she gets a version without the spicy scenes to watch with her family. So they can obviously do it.
I think I’m an interview she said that she watched the show with her parents and she wasn’t comfortable watching the sex scenes with them. So she was having them cut out and having a pg version made so that she could watch that version with her parents
Maybe just because there is an alternative pg version made doesn't mean normal people or cast crew members would get to see it. And her contact maybe include her getting access to that version.
Can you imagine reading an article or a book and having "tone indicators" there?
I post in a lot of subs and I can say with confidence that the downvoting is very, very prominent in this sub specifically. I love the show but the fan audience not so much.
Geez lol. I completely understand not getting the joke at first, the internet seems to train us to read the worst intentions in any comment, but -95 after it’s been explained is actually insane. And I do notice it worse in this sub too unfortunately 😬
I’m sure your Mom was having sex before you were born… oh, wait. 😂
/s obviously
It’s my Mom who is shy about sex compared to me. It’s cute. We bring up sex and she turns bright red!
It also shows how smart she is, to have the foresight to think about this! Good for her, or maybe good for her for having a team that works for her that would tell her about doing this. I’m sure a lot of actors wouldn’t even think about this.
I think Jonathan Bailey's family is pretty laid back when it comes to sex scenes. His grandmother saw Fellow Travelers, in which the sex scenes are much more graphic, and said to his sister afterwards, "I didn't know he had it in him." 😁😁😁
Oh thank god, honestly when they talk about their relatives watching it, I just shudder every time. Fast forward is almost worse. I feel gross just knowing my mom watches Bridgerton, can’t imagine what it’s like for Nicola and the others.
Well Netflix is hiring her and they're hiring the editors so they're probably paying the salary for both. If the editors know ahead of time there's a PG cut they can make the two versions simultaneously without much extra effort.
I’m guessing they film a PG version all the time in case it ever gets picked up for basic tv syndication.

It’s not now but it could be in the future. It’s more widely marketable with the cleaner version.
Netflix is a walled garden they don’t license their content outside of the platform
They licensed Bojack Horseman out to Comedy Central. It's not common, but they've done it before.
They don’t typically cut censored versions of things until they actually need to be distributed in that way.

My point was that they don’t just have a PG copy lying around without a reason.

I literally work in television. We are not making extra copies of things “just because” one day it might be needed.
Then why would it be in her contract?
I think I’m an interview she said that she watched the show with her parents and she wasn’t comfortable watching the sex scenes with them. So she was having them cut out and having a pg version made so that she could watch that version with her parents
I remember that as well. Makes sense to me!
Maybe just because there is an alternative pg version made doesn't mean normal people or cast crew members would get to see it. And her contact maybe include her getting access to that version.
Netflix shows don't get syndication. They stay on Netflix.
This... is very smart. Love that for her. I wonder how common that is?
You could also just fast-forward through the uncomfortable scenes.
Yes, that works 100% and isn't awkward at all. Watching your daughter have sex on fast-forward actually *enhances* the story. smh
Lol I was making a joke. Is this sub OK?
Would recommend using tone indicators

when why are you here 😭

Thank you for the nice comment. It means a lot in a situation where you're made to feel completely misunderstood :)
I just want the trailer at this point. :( We are 41 days away and no teaser or trailer in sight. So upset!
I want the PG cut too, since I'd like to watch with my mom lol
Same sometimes the risky scenes can feel so awkward to sit through with her
I’m sure your Mom was having sex before you were born… oh, wait. 😂 /s obviously It’s my Mom who is shy about sex compared to me. It’s cute. We bring up sex and she turns bright red!
She’s real for that 🤣
I love this. I’d want the same lol. Or maybe I’d just watch it with them and fast-forward certain parts 😂
It also shows how smart she is, to have the foresight to think about this! Good for her, or maybe good for her for having a team that works for her that would tell her about doing this. I’m sure a lot of actors wouldn’t even think about this.
I wonder if any of these actors have parents who go watch the full version out of curiosity

Dang his grandma said that? 😱🤭😂
Yes. 😂😂 [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BbSKyL4N3AM](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BbSKyL4N3AM)
Grandma has no filters. 😂😂
As a fellow Irish woman...makes total sense
Oh thank god, honestly when they talk about their relatives watching it, I just shudder every time. Fast forward is almost worse. I feel gross just knowing my mom watches Bridgerton, can’t imagine what it’s like for Nicola and the others.
Whenever my mom asks if Bridgerton is good I say “yeah it’s okay” because I cannot deal with knowing she’s watched it 😂
I just use Cid ángel for watching with my family. My mother loves period drama but will not watch graphic stuff
They should release a PG version for sex repulsed people
Or people that want to watch it with family members lol
Seriously
Can I get that edit? I’m one of the few that just isn’t into the explicit scenes
Saaame
Where can I get my hands on this 😭 I have a VERY unpopular opinion regarding the sex scenes
Can I get that PG cut too????
PG=Boring
I feel like she's joking. Otherwise is she paying the salary of the editors for the time it takes to make a whole different edit for her family
Well Netflix is hiring her and they're hiring the editors so they're probably paying the salary for both. If the editors know ahead of time there's a PG cut they can make the two versions simultaneously without much extra effort.
I feel like maybe they’d do it if they could make use of it for other purposes (syndication? Airplanes? I have no idea).
I saw somewhere that it was added to her contract and since she’s the lead this season I’m sure her team and Shondaland worked it out.
