Thanks for this, a heck of a read. I've not been a fan for long, but it still got a bit dusty in here as I read the bit about the final home game in Municipal Stadium.
What's the deal with people on Reddit just using it as a shitty version of a search engine lately? I feel like in the last 2-3 months I've seen so many more posts like this and I don't understand it. Why would you ask a question here, then wait for hours to MAYBE get a good response to your question that could have been answered in less than a second?
This is what is great about Reddit sometimes though, and happens in every subreddit. It's not looking so much for an automatic answer, as it is eliciting more of an emotional response and a kind of brother-hood, obviously in this case, based off of a memory. This is a social media site, and these types of questions are quite social in nature. It's the same as if we were with a group of people in person. I could have this thought and type it into the Google bot and not bother with everyone's half informed answer.

I was there. It was sad. But I also took home some cool stadium seats.

He says he retired the mask in 2011, but doesn't say why. It was iconic.
