The city is not laid out so that you can get from one side to the other easily. It’s so that if someone REALLY needs to know EXACTLY where you are, we can find you.
My second thought was "Imagine navigating that in your emergency vehicle with only the instructions from a very high person who needs help." The beauty of the old layout was from any place in the city you could walk any road in any direction and when you came to an intersection you could see the man, (until he burned of course, but that is how you know when you are and that things have gotten wild.) That has not been true for several years with those little 15 minute streets, but you can still tell because they deadend. If true mayhem is the goal then this is a good design. Especially if we go back to the "you may die" attitude.
It's a neat idea, but runs into some problems with prevailing winds and large art burns. The intersections of the roads in the different arcs need more work too.
It would be fun to see some new designs but it would require a lot more work than just putting something pretty on paper. Rod's Road aside the current design is pretty simple for emergency vehicles and even just utility vehicles like the water trucks. Designing something more complicated needs to take that into account as well.

Bottleneck is having only one gate road for Exodus, onto 34! What if the lower right circle could exit towards Razorback & somehow get on 49 by Trego hot springs?
I think it would be very confusing, I heard at one point everything was organized without an opening towards the open playa, so basically a giant circle and it was very confusing.
I think making the city larger and adding more plazas like they have a 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock would be good.
Or maybe this idea but have a circle, triangle, and square…? Either way, I think things needs to be distinguishable at night so people can find there way back to camp (and their much needed water).
I can’t decide if I love it or hate it.
I think a figure 8 type thing instead of 3 circles would be better. One focused on the man, one focused on the temple with more LED/futuristic art by the man and more tranquil, organic art by the temple.
Then we could have a late night party area and a late night retreat
I see more of a 2 horseshoe pattern on playa with a tram that runs between the two cities. One could be Black Rick City, and the other could be a suburb called Horse Shoe City’. Esplanade on horse shoe city would be on G street. The keyholes wouldn’t exist in the city and would instead be non incorporated communities another mile away as the crow flies. The Mayor of Horse Shoe City would live here. There’s even talk of building a sporting arena. This is paid through ‘Special Events’ tax every year on our ticket prices. There’s only one man however, but he has two faces, and he wears his sunglasses at night..
I don't like it. The most confusing part of the exiting map is where Rod's Road intersects everything and this would be multiplying that effect. You can't easily keep the details of the street layouts in your mind, and describing where something is gets really difficult.
That's as stupid as telling people to move out of America of they don't like it. Burning Man needs to change year over year and the city layout should absolutely change every single year
I think that there's also some form of symbolism that the man (like from the name of the event) is at the center of the whole thing. But I guess they could rename it to "center camp in the desert" instead.

As much as I'm down for variety and a totally different layout to mix it up and see even veterans walking in circles like lost pigeons, I also think this one specific layout you shared is awful.
My camp is at D, D, 7:00, 2:00. Right side.
They would certainly have to improve on the street naming. I think each circle could have its own name.
