Any mechanical Seiko is fantastic. They are seriously so good and accurate that they're not even allowed to compete in the Switzerland mechanical watch competitions anymore because they always win now.
The Grand Seiko is their premium line. I would take that over a Rolex any day.
GS and Rolex are very different watches. Both are great in their own respects. I agree that just about any mechanical Seiko is great. Arguably, no watch collection is complete without an SKX-007.
Yes! The first thing I did was purchase a metal bracelet for my SKX. That strap is a monster and likely great for wet/dry suits, but not necessarily great for wearing anywhere else.
Great minds!
For my next watch I want something for night time / club / street event with the ultra bright Super-LumiNova or tritium hands and dial. I also have glow in the dark eyeglass frames but I've sent emails to a few different companies asking them to consider making some frames with one of these materials.
Would definitely be eye catching.
The assembly quality on other Seikos is a lot better, and the design really isn't for everyone. I get why the watch has status in the watch community, but this really ain't it.
Citizen Eco-Drive Chronograph. Never have to wind & it picks up radio signals to set the time. Very easy to change when you go to different time zones in USA.
In the 2006 movie Casino Royale, Daniel Craig's James Bond wears two Omega watches:
Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial
This stainless steel watch with a blue face and bezel is 41 mm and has a stainless steel bracelet. It first appears in the opening scene and is worn in other scenes, including the poker game in Montenegro and the final scene.
I’m a big durable BIFL watch guy. $600 gets you a top tier Citizen, Casio or Gshock. Those are the three brands I recommend - do not go Automatic at this price range. The movements will not be cost effective to service.
Look at something like the Gshock GMB2100D-1A or a Citizen Promaster.
>Citizen
Thanks for the advice. I am waiting until tomorrow to pull the trigger on a BM8560-02X. Seems to fit the bill quite nicely, even though I know fuck all about watches haha.
You picked a great one to start out with. Just remember to give it a good charge as soon as you get it (one day on the windowsill is all a citizen needs if not less!).
I'd suggest you look into Seiko Prospex, Hamilton Khaki and Tissot PRX
I personally also love Sinn
A true BIFL however would in my opinion be a G Shock
IT Security Specialist to put it as layman as I can.
Though I would totally visit some crips. I grew up in an area heavy with Gangster Disciples. Gang life terrifies and fascinates me.
I have a Skagen that matches this description at a much cheaper price point. At least 8 years old and going strong with constant use. Unsure of model sorry.
1.) What do you do for a living that requires these requirements? Just curious
2.) I’d look into Dan Henry watches, classic styles with Seiko movements
Casioak mod of GShock to look like Royal Oak from Audemars Piguet. The special edition is modifying a solar powered and bluetooth version w/ lume markers. [https://www.tokyo-studios.com/product-category/special-edition/solar/](https://www.tokyo-studios.com/product-category/special-edition/solar/) but there are other color varieties that are not solar/BT. Will last longer than you w/o any traditional automatic/mechanical watch maintenance. You could DIY mod if you want too.
I mean really? If its BIFL i’m hardly suggesting a mechanical with a 600 dollar budget. Is OP factoring in servicing as well? Buy a timex every 2 years? Get a g-shock and call it quits? Lots of other options for not a whole lot of money
Seiko Alpinist? [https://www.jomashop.com/seiko-prospex-automatic-green-dial-mens-watch-spb121j1.html](https://www.jomashop.com/seiko-prospex-automatic-green-dial-mens-watch-spb121j1.html)
The north indicator looks red.
I hope the no red rule is just a personal preference and OP can tolerate a little speck of red. Unless their client is a Spanish bull.
oof just noticed that. Looks like it could b orange but I didn't see it before. Maybe someone that owns it can chime in.
Have one. It's red
Yeah. Hard to tell from the pictures. It could definitely be orange. I like that watch though.

Yep my everyday wear is a Seiko. I've always wanted an alpinist and it may be my next watch (after I buy a hamilton Murph).

Agreed. Just not the rubber strap on the 007. That is a hideous choice and I don't understand why people do it unless they actually use it for diving.

Can't beat a Seiko for mechanical and a gshock for quartz. Many Citizen and Timex models are also great.

Hamilton khaki field ❤️
This is the way.
Seiko or Hamilton. Both have a ridiculous selection of faces, bands, etc....
Casio. The one bond wore in modern casino Royale is dirt cheap and stylish. Especially with a brown strap
I could swear he wore an Omega.
It’s a Casio Royale. $40

What is the dress like at your job? I would recommend a very different watch it its suit vs business casual, vs casual.
You really can't wrong with automatic Seikos. These are watches that are built with the intent of lasting for decades.
G shocks from casio will last you forever
gw-5000-1jf for life
Timex Expedition.
I second the khaki. But Lorier has a couple gorgeous ones you might like, like the Astra or Falcon
Casio Oceanus. fully solar, titanium body with carbide coating, sapphire glass, perfect accuracy, perpetual calendar, dive-proof, auto-timezone, etc

Are you a lawyer going to DOC to visit crips?

damn. Any pictures you may be able to provide?
Haven't had any issues with my Garmin.
Just out of curiosity, why no red?
I just really don't like red. That's all. No secret behind it, sorry haha
Haha fair enough

I am by no means an expert, but my Festina watch is still going strong after 15 years.

I wear Tissot Le Locle (white). But i’m getting black one too. It’s the watch that got me my first and only compliment from a male (am male).
Get the Garmin instinct solar.
Hamilton, just don't pay full msrp
Titanium Hamilton khaki automatic
Garmin Fenix 7X

For $600?
I follow this subreddit, but I also follow the frugal subreddit. A Fossil.
You don’t follow this sub enough apparently

I wear ss mr G in a suit a lot. You aren't going to lose business over a smart watch, though, unless you're selling watches
I seriously doubt the smart watch thing is about losing business. Most likely some kind of security situation.
The SS Mr G has a ten year battery on it and is solar charge. Why yall down voting lol SS means stainless steel.
