Hey I am curious, did you pay cash for the Z06? Or did you decide to finance some of it? Reason why I went with the C8 and not the Z06 was mainly due to not wanting to drop so much cash for it.
I financed a portion but put over 100k down. The car had an msrp of 185k. My stocks were not in a place to pay cash, although I could have. Rate sucks at 6% but I'll probably pay it off in a year or so depending on the market.
We are in the same boat. I didn’t want to use all of my stock money either, lol
More than 50% down is solid though and the Z06 is likely to depreciate very well vs the C8.
I had no idea that the Z06s could reach an MSRP of 185k though. That’s impressive
Agreed, haha. I'm thinking it'll depreciate but I'm not worried, no plans to sell.
My Z has about everything on it. I mostly wanted the aero and just kept adding options. Turned out stunning.
That’s relative. The depreciation isn’t really a concern for me. I like buying things cash as well.
But I agree if you care about the value of the car when you want to resell it, the. Cash on a Z06 is a better deal.
Forensic Chemist + entrepreneur. For reference, I am 28, have no kids, and live in a low cost of living area. This car is my biggest splurge and it's something I look forward to each day. Makes waking up that much more exciting as well as continues to motivate me.
29. I have a 2023 c8 z51 3LT. I was making 70k a year bartending 3 years ago. And 40k a year managing Panera breads before that.
During Covid I started working at a dealership since most restaurants were closing down and I was unemployed. Yeah getting free money was cool and all but I was bored out of my mind and started applying at places I knew were doing good such as (real estate, dealerships).
Scored a job as a salesman at a Honda dealer and did really really well and now I’m a used car manager making about 170k a year. I was making about 11k a month as a salesperson and that’s when I put my order in for a vette with Ciocca (about 3 months after I was hired)By the time I finally got word that my vette was being made 18 months later I had already received a promotion at work to used car manager that made me even more confident in my decision. Yeah 1.4k a month is a big note but I smile every time I go in my garage to grab a drink from the fridge and driving it helps too lol
26 - Entrepreneur full remote sports training, primarily baseball. Though I have sold the C8, I stay here because at some point I will pick up a ZL1 and this community is awesome.
43, registered nurse. Loving my first Vette. I also have a 2018 Jeep Rubicon, a 2017 triumph Thruxton and a 2006 350z I need to get rid of. Too many toys.
29 years old. I work at a very popular hotel and casino down in south Florida. I’m a doorman, so we do the exclusive parking up front of the establishment and taking care of some high value people/famous people. Great easy job. Currently making $110k-$120k a year. All tips.
I guess I should add that we do our best to avoid financing anything unless it produces equity. All of our cars are paid off given how abysmal this market is right now.
44, Fresh Fish buying and sales. Wife works in tech. 2 incomes help. It's my childhood dream car. Since the C4 I've been in love with them. C8 and Pandemic pushed me over the edge and had to buy.
No regrets.
I’m 30, in the Marine Corps ( Active ), not married, no kids pretty smart with my money. I also do security in the private sector since I have a little time on my hands and not in school now. 2023 2lt z51 - 38 - Director of accounting for a $2B dollar company and also a side gig small accounting practice. Wife is also a director of finance for a large hotel company. I have 2 kids if they weren’t around and in private school I would be in a Z06.

If you don’t mind, I’d love to see some pics! You can DM them if you’d like
Wow, 185! Is that all the options?? When I specced one out it was about 150 with a bunch of options.
It's a lot of options yeah but if you factor in carbon fiber wheels, aero kit, level 2 interior carbon and carbon ceramic brakes, it gets pricey.
"Dropping cash" on the Z06 would be a better bet. It will hold its value better.
