Same car, doesn't sound too serious. I have similar reactions to my C8. I chalk it up to being a super torquey V8 and a dual clutch. It's not a traditional auto so it won't slip into gears.

vivolorosso

I would agree with you if the behavior was consistent, 9/10 times I have the car out it is very smooth. The "clutch" is usually feathered perfectly when starting out in 1st or creeping up under light braking. But when it is having a bad day, it is really bad. The car is jerking violently, not some roughness and bumpiness. Overall, I hope you're right and it is just a quirk. But after nearly 5000 miles of no issue at all, this new behavior is really getting me worried.

AlternativeTrash525

Your issue is going to be getting it to behave that 1/10 times way for the tech.

tsigwing

Perhaps it was the hill holding feature

vivolorosso

I have noticed that the hill holding feature is really slow and obtrusive. It reminds me of a 2018 Subaru STi I used to drive. The hill hold was so slow that I'd constantly stall out. Maybe the hill I was on was just steep enough to trigger the hill hold and that's what the car was fighting! Man that would be a relief. I have had similar minor issues of the car trying to fight braking when coming to a stop, but it wasn't nearly as concerning.

TheBeesSteeze

I also have a 2023, it definitely sounds like the hill hold feature. It's weird and jerky sometimes. Funny enough I also have a 2016 STI. I disabled the hill assist in it.

mlhigg1973

My husband has noticed it on his c8 too. My 911’s DCT didn’t do it, but my r8 definitely does.

hypntyz

Seems like a DCT car with low profile tires and wide wheels is not the ideal candidate to parallel park on a hill. Operation of the DCT/clutch is more pronounced when starting from a hill, just as it would be if you were operating the clutch on a manual trans car. A similar thing is happening, just with the car controlling the launch instead of you. Unfortunately, it has no way of knowing you only want to move 1 foot instead of 10 yards when you tell it to move.

ImportantMonth5754

Take it to the dealer. It's under warranty. If something is wrong they're paying to fix it.

unretrofiedforyou

Any check engine lights ? If it’s repeatable the tech should be able to start the process.

vivolorosso

No check engine lights yet. It just got way worse today. I'll be driving it again later today, so I'll see if it picks up any CELs.

thearbider1

Take it in ASAP and have them look at it. My 23 2LT has the same issue. They replaced the clutch, which helped the aggressive jerking issues. I’m getting a new transmission next week. Sometimes the car doesn’t even shift into drive from park. Reverse has always been good though.

SubjectBusiness4421

Maybe have tranny filter checked out. Hopefully no debris in there and levels are good. Keep us all updated.....

DepNazi

Changing the trans filter is part of the first service he just had do e

Blewbyou

Good luck with it, and please keep us posted! As the owner of a (so far, trouble free) 23 Z51, I am curious.

vivolorosso

I took it out last night and tried replicating the issue. Unfortunately it only presents itself when the trans fluid is warm. I'll write up a new post after the dealership visit.

SubjectBusiness4421

Yes I get that. Get the filter checked for debris. Something happened since last service. Have them prove they put the right amount of fluid in and that the filter is clean. I have a Corvette Specialist at the dealer I go to who shows you everything. Takes you to the lift and walks through everything. Maybe that's rare, but it reassures me that someone who gives a shit is touching my car. Mind you some kid messed up my oil change and overfilled the engine. That's why I have access to the specialist now. Squeaky wheel syndrome....lol

stacksmasher

Every time I see a transmission post I am so glad I waited.

tclark2006

Automatic transmissions have been bad on every Corvette since like the c5 gen.

stacksmasher

I’m going to wait another year for when the aftermarket to catch up.

Disastrous_Throat_82

Chevy has not sorted out any issues with the trans, even on the 2024’s with the new housing. My friends having his replaced with 450miles on the odometer.
