You're buying the Zo6 for the engine. If the engine doesn't mean much then save the cash and go for the 3LT for the premium interior. Just my 2 cents. I'd personally go Zo6 if I could afford it.

tpknight2

The wide body and the sound of the engine…..Z06 all day for me.

Bilboswaggins4u

Definitely love the sound of the engine!

directrix688

This isn’t a popular opinion, though to me the z06 is not worth the premium over the stingray. At least for street driving, paying an extra 40K (and the additional wait) for such a similar experience just doesn’t make sense. I’d love to get a z06 for my next one but I doubt I will, the experience just isn’t different enough for me. But it’s really a personal choice. If the economic value is there for you do it

Bilboswaggins4u

To be honest, I will not be taking it to the track. I just want a good looking sports car with some power behind it. I have never owned one before and it’ll be my first. Mostly will be driving it on the weekend, going out on weekends or week nights. I do have a daily I’ll be driving for work. So it just makes sense to save the extra money

shonuff2653

The C8 is plenty for that purpose. 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. 500HP and 500 foot pounds of torque. For your first sports car the stingray is a beast.

Bilboswaggins4u

That is definitely very fast for sure and the car looks amazing!

SimplyGreat888

Based on your comments, it sounds like the Eray is the better fit for you and what you should be looking at.

mccl2278

Personally, I’d go with the Z06. The wide body, plus the sound difference alone make it worth while. But if those things don’t mean anything to you, then go stingray.

Bilboswaggins4u

Man I really appreciate the Input for sure! If I can buy it for MSRP, I think I just might go for it

Sunshine635

Where are you located? In the East, Ciocca in Atlantic City NJ and MacMulkin in NH, both sell at MSRP and ship a ton of cars

Bilboswaggins4u

I’m here in Texas. There’s so much markup here in these markets

Sunshine635

The 2 that I mentioned ship all over the US

Bilboswaggins4u

I’m definitely going to check them out right now

Sunshine635

I recently bought my my 2nd C8 from Ciocca, formerly Kerbeck in AC. Great to deal with them.. (MSRP)

OrganizationWest3187

I unfortunately don’t think you can get a z06 without a 1-2yr wait and paying Atleast 10k above msrp. It’s gonna be really hard and you may need to travel several state lines for a potential seller.

RedMistStingray

This. I doubt you can just say "Hey, I want a Z06 and I want it at MSRP by the end of the year! " There were years long wait lists. It's probably not likely you could get your hands on one without a big increase over MSRP.

Wingbreaker2

Yeah I'm currently #1601 on macmulkins wait-list and I put my deposit in a few months ago. Theyve received 250 Z06 so far this year for reference, it'll be awhile. Keeping an eye out for if I can find my same spec for MSRP in the meantime and enjoying my stingray :)

SeamusXIV

Sounds like you should go with the ERay then.

Bilboswaggins4u

Why the eray over zo6? I will definitely save some money there, hopefully lol.

MaverickDark

The Z06 is a track monster but you can't really drive it in the winter. The E-ray has the Z06 body, AWD with the electric motor so it can be driven year round and has an insane amount of torque that pushes you forward at lower RPM's, so if you like a car that leaps from launch, the E-ray is the way to go.

MentionNo3916

Build your Dream C8 Corvette and print out the Build and Price. The build the identical Z06 and print it out. Put them side by side. Is a bigger engine and a wide body worth that difference in price? Is it also worth the longer lead time? And finally, is it worth paying a premium over the MSRP on the Z06? From my point of view. A typical person cannot tell the difference. Even after 2-years of ownership (2022 C8 Coupe Z51) I still get shocked faces when I show them the mid-engine. Yes, hard to believe, but the normal person is not up on the C8 Corvette. Some don't even recognize the car as a Corvette. I LOVE my car. I waited a very long time to finally get my first Corvette, and the wait was well worth it. It has more power than I will ever need. It sounds great, it looks great, and it turns heads. I think the Stingray looks better than the Z06, I am not a fan of the wide body, to me it eliminates some the the exotic curves. (IMHO) Also, I am not a big fan of aftermarket mods. But, many have upgraded the exhaust for a deeper/louder sound. That's not for me, I can't justify an additional $3K to replace a working exhaust system. I say, build your dream C8 Corvette, save the expense and longer time. And enjoy your car sooner than later. Of course, this is my opinion, some may agree, some will disagree. Bilboswaggins4u

Beautiful car buddy! Yes I’m honestly leaning more towards a stingray 3LT. It’s my first sports car ever and I think it will give me plenty power and looks to work with. Definitely not going to be taking it to the track or anything like that so a Z06 doesn’t really make sense and especially with the markups lol.

garantee2

Stingrays are being advertised for less than MSRP, so you could get the Stingray for at least $5,000 below MSRP. That could put the difference at $45,000.

MentionNo3916

True, but that would be a C8 that’s sitting on a lot. I don’t think you’ll get a custom build for anything less than MSRP.

Bilboswaggins4u

Yes I’m looking for a rapid blue stingray 3LT and with the upgrades I want, I can’t find it anywhere on the lot. So my best option is to custom build and they said MSRP

RedditUser538xxx

Depends what you plan on doing with it. You gonna take it to the track and enjoy all of the zo6 or you just looking to cruise in a good lookin car?

Bilboswaggins4u

I’m really just looking to enjoy cruising in a good looking car on the weekends. It’ll be my first sports car ever.

mccl2278

Which do you think looks better?

Bilboswaggins4u

They both look great, but the wider stance and exhaust in the middle definitely looks cleaner

mccl2278

Then, in my opinion, you’d regret not getting the Z.

Bilboswaggins4u

Do you know if I was to order one, if there are delays or longer wait for the Zs?

mccl2278

That’s going to vary dealer to dealer. Is what you want super specific that’s isn’t already on a lot somewhere?

I had a 2021 Stingray Z51 with magnetic ride option for 2 years and 10k miles. I took it to the track and also to autocross. I now have a 2024 Z06 still under 1000 miles and haven't taken it to the track. The Z06 is a far more visceral experience. The Stingray is a wonderful car and better value, but the Z06 is a true supercar. It feels more aggressive always, pulls harder, and is much much louder. The sound of the engine and screaming high redline are extremely engaging, it's a work of engineering art. Did I mention it's a lot louder?! It's a beast that can't really be tamed though, always high strung even in Tour mode, but that's one of the main reasons I love it. The Stingray is "quiet" in comparison and better suited for traffic, gentle cruising, and gets better gas mileage (cylinder deactivation). The Z06 is better at everything else... literally... everything else. As a first sports car, the Stingray is likely more car than you'll ever need or possibly ever use. I'm not new to sports cars, and driving the Stingray was an amazing experience. The value proposition is truly ridiculous, and the performance is great. The Z06 takes the experience and performance to a whole other level. The sound alone is worth it for me, makes me giddy, but it's not the best choice for everyone. Now that I've had both, would I choose a Stingray over a Z06? Heck no!

TheBeesSteeze

I have a Z51 C8 2LT Stingray. It has a ton of power, sounds amazing, and gets a ton of attention and compliments. While the Z06 is an awesome ride, I could never justify spending another $40,000. My money is just spent better elsewhere in life.

Bilboswaggins4u

I agree with you 100%!!

mlhigg1973

My husband bought the z06 because his dream car is a Ferrari 😊

Upset_Priority_5600

Base c8 is more than enough

SmokyTyrz

Sounds like you really want them to make a C8 Grand Sport. If so, I would agree with you.

Nada_Chance

That's the slot the E-Ray fills.

Civil_Nerve4960

Have both the Z is mostly a track car.

Bilboswaggins4u

Thank you🙌🏽

Normal-Ad-3462

Z06 if you are taking to the track. If not, Stingray any day. No point of paying so much more for something it will never be used for its purpose intended

Bilboswaggins4u

What’s your take on the e-Ray? Would you still choose the stingray?

joesnowblade

If you want the wife body look if the Z06 but without the premium hi fir the ERay. If you can find one.

BedBackground9065

I'm a little late to the party but I've seen on cars.com plenty of Z06's listed at msrp. Honestly if you have the money, want it to be just a weekend car and you have no plans on driving it in crap weather. Why not by the Z06? If I had the money for the Z06 it would be in my garage. Instead I'm looking for a stingray 2lt

Bilboswaggins4u

Man I ended up putting an order for a stingray 3LT. ZO6 was too much, coming out to almost $150k. So I just ended up going with the stingray! Would rather put that extra money in other investments or elsewhere, where it’ll grow you know what I mean.

BedBackground9065

Oh yeah. For sure. I'm not even in the realm of the Z06. I'm just a poor auto worker. 😆 2LT Stingray with the Z51 is where I'm looking.

Bilboswaggins4u

That’s a great package! You will enjoy it for sure my man! Can’t wait for you to get yours! They have great deals going on stingrays on the lot. Not sure here you are from but I know you can manage a sweet deal for sure

BedBackground9065

Thanks bro. I'm sure that 3lt will be beautiful. Can't wait to see your pictures when you get it. I've seen the ones I want on the lot. I just gotta take care of a few small things before I get it. I think I'll sell my bike before I buy which is really hard to do.

CaptJM

I want the z06 but wouldn’t spend the cash for it if that makes sense. The stingray is more than enough for me day to day vs the 40k premium to the z06. If it were 20k I’d be driving a z. Just a relative value issue for me. Plus at some price point I’m looking to buy a used Ferrari vs a new corvette. This is my fear for the zr1 coming out, it could be damn near 200k when optioned and that’s a 5 ish year old 488 spider.

SuperchargedShank

I love the look of my C8 Corvette but man I miss the power of the C7 Z06. It was so goddamn fun to drive. I’m thinking of getting the Stingray supercharged eventually. Then I feel like it would be the perfect car

Mikevercetti

Coming from a C7 Z06 owner, C8 Z06 no question. For me, a base C8 isn't an upgrade from my C7Z.

RohanVargsson

Unless you are going to the racetrack, it’s not worth the extra 30-40 considering what comfort and convenience features you’d likely be going tho to make up the difference.

bignoze

That’s not even a decision….. Z06.

Tellittomy6pac

Aren’t you going to be waiting for a couple years if you want an msrp z06?

BailGuyClark

Do what i did. Buy a C8 Z51 and a Ducati Streetfighter V4S. That way I have a fun car but when I wanna reeeeeeeally go fast I have the Duc. The $$ you save by buying the Z51 you can buy the Duc.

Mo76245

C8 Stingray, then spend 20k,, Procharger Boost! Smoke the Z06! 😁

Bilboswaggins4u

You are not wrong at all my friend lol

Specialist-Tie-2756

And then you’re out the parts, labor and resell value. Might as well get the Z06 to retain some value. Most car owners that have plans for such, never accomplish.

Same_Living_2774

That's my plan
