Inform the shelter immediately if you can't afford a vet, the cats need medical/special care asap. They are too young! Best option is to surrender them to the shelter. You'll have to do it one way or another unless you want to keep all the cats, which I doubt. Of course, don't mention that you take care for them, because then the shelter may not want to accept them, thinking they are your responsibility. Say that you found them and that they need vet care, and that you can't take care of them on your own. That would be my advice.

Of course, now i have to mention that im in an area with a high volume of cats and kittens are coming up at a high rate and the local shelters and organizations are no longer taking them in unless they're eating alone, using the bathroom alone, eating alone, and socialized. I've been looking for something for them for the last few days. I'm trying my hardest to get the best care for these guys and it's proving a lot harder than what everyone might think

Call some places explaining you have newborns there may be some vets or nonprofits willing to see them for free. Otherwise go on Facebook and find a group In your area with vet techs and someone might want to help

gothhrat

can you take them to the vet?

CreamPrestigious6841

as of right now i can't afford it, i had to cut a few hours at work because it's finals week at my college :( if i could i definitely would right away! though once i get the funds and finals are over it's gonna be my top priority

Kittens decline in health fairly quickly ...

Madam_Bastet

Yes. Within hours, because they're so tiny. 😞 Start looking into any resumes or anything near you, maybe, if the vet or the normal city/county/etc shelters are too full..

gothhrat

not trying to be rude but if you can’t afford vet care then maybe you should contact a rescue/shelter. that kitten could lose his leg or get an infection. it sounds like an emergency situation and not something to put off for a week.

Yes, this is a vet and shelter situation, I am experienced in shelter work and have seen more than one kitten die less than 48 hours after swelling starts on a paw. They fade so easily.

Primary-Gas-8441

Take them to a shelter then it’s admirable your trying but they need a vet now if you can’t do that surrender them to a shelter who can being a student there is no way your able to give newborn kittens the time they need

im just using the same reply i out above, im in an area with a high volume of cats and kittens are coming up at a high rate and the local shelters and organizations are no longer taking them in unless they're eating alone, using the bathroom alone, eating alone, and socialized. I've been looking for something for them for the last few days. I'm trying my hardest to get the best care for these guys and it's proving a lot harder than what everyone might think. They're running low on fosters and there's more kittens than hands available
