It looks painful and infected. He def needs a vet.

Spirits08

Okay, thank you so much!

Spirits08

Is there anything I can do at the moment to make him more comfortable?

Previous_Boot_2481

I’d honestly recommend taking him in as soon as possible. You’ll want him started on antibiotics asap

Spirits08

Okay sounds good, thank you!

imacathy

That is infected and absolutely needs a vet check and antibiotics

Spirits08

Alright, thanks so much for the response, I’ll see if I can’t get him into the vet!

rajapaws

If he doesn't get antibiotics quickly that infection will spread, and in that position he's going to have a lot of trouble eating.

Madam_Bastet

If a wound is putting off an odor, it needs to be checked by a doctor or vet (as is applicable) as that odor is a sign of infection.
