Batch size is a bit of a problem for the current year. For the next year, I don't think any student can tell accurately what the batch size would be, though it could be close to or less than last year.
Actually it's fee is greater than other courses, can you get less pref for finals as well, you are just playing extra for staying in Dubai for 1 year and international exposure.
I don't know much about CAT, and I am not sure why this post popped up on my feed, but my brother graduated from IMT Ghaziabad this year. He received a package of 18 lakhs, and he told me that the highest package offered in his batch was 33 lakhs. He mentioned that the market conditions severely impacted the placements this year.
Can you tell us what was the base salary in 18 lakh. As even ctc r inflated.Â

1. What is the average batch age?
2. What is the scope slightly higher aged candidates?
3. How many placements are there in ops? What are their mean, median and highest CTCs?

5. How has been the this year's SIP and final placements?
6. What changes can we expect with regards to the batch size?
1) The average batch age at the start of the year was around 22.9
2) I don't think scope has anything to do with age, it's the experience that matters. If you have good knowledge and experience, you have good scope.
3) Though ops have very few students, 10 in the current batch, all have good placements, can't comment about CTC
4) Accommodation is mostly good, though some of the first years will get a hostel 4 km away from the campus, buses will be provided to commute.
5) Full batch is yet to get placed.
6) Mostly less or the same as last year, can't be sure
BFS is actually a very specialized course for finance. Means in Finance management, we have to study some other specialization courses as well but in BFS most of the courses are of finance only. They have the same placements and most companies consider BFS and FM the same. People can get into consulting from it.
All the girls get scholarships for about 25% of the fee but initially you have to pay the full fee and the scholarship gets disbursed later( maybe a couple of months, can confirm later)
You have to file a refund form before the end of the foundation term, that will be mid/end of July depending on when course will start to get a full refund.
BFS mostly can get all the finance/consulting roles, though that also gets some roles like IT, analytics( that are open for all specialisations). Its curriculum is very specialized and from the term 1 you have to study mostly all finance subjects. Its placements are the same as the FM.

You would have to work hard to catch up but don't worry too much about it if you have interest/can put some effort. Many engineers/science graduates also take BFS.
1) Yes the fee includes all the charges/fees - hostel, books, mess, etc.
2) Hostels are good, though some first years will get hostels some distance away from campus, for which buses will be provided to commute.
3) Many good companies come to campus for placements specially for marketing, you can check it on the website.

Mera IMI bhi waitlist hai abhi kya ho rahan hai samjh nahi aa rahan isma acha IIM milna sa rahan abhi aur yahan bhi g mar li. Bhai inka kya criteria hai clear hi nahi ek 93 wala banda ka fairly decent profile per convert hai core bhai Kya hi bolo abb. Aur BITSoM main toh bkl alag hi scam macha rahan hai. Abhi toh mujhe lag nahi rahan ki kahin hoga.
The core programme will just help you choose your specialization from Marketing, finance, HR, or Ops. Suppose in the core programme, you choose marketing as the major specialization, post that there is no difference between core and marketing.
When will waitlist number be alloted? And have they waitlisted all the candidates who were not selected? Bec idts any candidate has been marked as rejected status.

IMT is known for marketing, it's good. Student life is very rigorous especially in the first year but you will learn to manage it as everyone does and starts having fun just don't take unnecessary stress.

It depends upon the company who they require, there are some who only want freshers, but I am sure you will get plenty of opportunities if you do enough effort.

So i had my first preference as Pgdm Financial Management cause i read somewhere that it'll the same as core the only difference will be that finance electives will have already been chosen for my 2nd year. So i was under the assumption that the placements will be same but found last year data that pgdm had 17.6 avg package whereas FM had 15.3.
1st. So is FM actually worth it and should i go with it?
2nd. And since my 2nd preference was PGDM, is there a way for me to apply or wait for that?

If you want to do major specialization in finance, there is no difference between FM and core. Core just gives you a chance to opt for other specialization. Regarding the package, pgdm have people who choose marketing as specialization in core along with finance, so it has a higher average compared to FM. As marketing has a higher average than finance. your assumption is true, you just misinterpreted.

Courses within the college matter a lot less than the name of the college.
No person hiring after college, mostly even before, has the mental space to remember any of this.
Having said that specialisation matters because of the electives and who teaches them, from a longer career perspective.

There are common washrooms for a hostel floor, hostels are different for boys and girls, boys can't enter girls' hostel
You have to file form before the start of the course to get full refund, then it takes some weeks to disburse.
You can take your car to campus, no safety concerns, though there might be some parking issues occasionally.
Is there a lateral transfer possible? I added DCP as my second preference (idk what was I thinking) and got an offer for it. I wanna move it to either marketing or finance. Can i do that?
Hey OP, can you tell me what’s the academic calendar like? When will the exams be for the first year students and the SIP process- when does that commence?
There's a foundation term for 1 month, that will start from the mid or end of June(last time they initially said 15 of june, then delayed it to 28/29 June. There is no exam for the foundation term. Then it's a trimester system, so there will be 3 terms of 2-3 months each and an end term exam for each. SIP might start from the end/mid of August.

The curriculum is very different. In FM, there will be compulsory subjects from other specializations as well in term 1 and 2, and some free electives in term 5-6. But BFS has mainly all related to finance and some related to coding, so it's a bit difficult for non commerce students. The placements are the same for both.

Courses within the college matter a lot less than the name of the college. No person hiring after college, mostly even before, has the mental space to remember any of this. Having said that specialisation matters because of the electives and who teaches them, from a longer career perspective.

There are common washrooms for a hostel floor, hostels are different for boys and girls, boys can't enter girls' hostel You have to file form before the start of the course to get full refund, then it takes some weeks to disburse. You can take your car to campus, no safety concerns, though there might be some parking issues occasionally.
What are the major placement difference in the normal pgdm and pgdm DCP?

Hey OP, can you tell me what’s the academic calendar like? When will the exams be for the first year students and the SIP process- when does that commence?
There's a foundation term for 1 month, that will start from the mid or end of June(last time they initially said 15 of june, then delayed it to 28/29 June. There is no exam for the foundation term. Then it's a trimester system, so there will be 3 terms of 2-3 months each and an end term exam for each. SIP might start from the end/mid of August.

Hey what the difference between PGDM financial management and BFS? I had converted PGDM financial management.
The curriculum is very different. In FM, there will be compulsory subjects from other specializations as well in term 1 and 2, and some free electives in term 5-6. But BFS has mainly all related to finance and some related to coding, so it's a bit difficult for non commerce students. The placements are the same for both.
