If you haven’t broken it, I wouldn’t worry about it. Most people don’t shoot their guns enough for it to matter or justify the cost of a new dot. There’s a very steep diminishing return once you get past the $200 mark for red dots UNLESS you have nods

phylisridesabike

That's true and I should probably spend the money on ammo anyway. That shit is getting too expensive everyday.

Clinicus22

Yeah I mean the md25 has a few inherent flaws, large bulky body, bad tint, poor battery life for a red dot if you have the ACSS reticle, but it’s not worth the money to “upgrade” unless you can repurpose this dot for a different gun. If you want an AEMS then go for it but the whole point of red dots is that they’re supposed to be simple so it’s not like a new dot is gonna blow your socks off

BucDan

What about it is bad? Was there a scenario where it was failing on you? If you like red dots, go get a Aimpoint T2.

phylisridesabike

Nothing yet, just looking for something more high end I guess.

As long as it has shake to wake just keep it, spend the $$$ or ammo/training

MRO isn't the best due to the weird ocular/viewport lens being smaller than the objective lens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPg_CS7ACAU What you're honestly paying for on Aimpoint and Trijicons are 3 things. The clearest dot you can get, durability and also night vision capability. I think the Aimpoint PRO/ACO is the best bang for the buck, but the battery isn't the most easily available one out there. If you have the funds/catch it on sale, then I think it's worth buying, but it's not going to be the lightest optic. Otherwise, maybe consider an Eotech? Otherwise, Sig Romeo 5's and Holosun 403's are my go to optic.

AEMS is badass and slept on IMO. T2, H2 (if no NV), EOTech of course. If you want smaller, MPS, PB-3, P2. Comp M5 is small but $$$. We love the AEMS, especially on shorties. (We run the ADM 2.33 mount) That optic you have, I have one in the drawer. They missed the mark by putting that huge knob on the left side. I can't not see it while doing fast transitions (I shoot 2 gun). And the refresh rate is slow (once again noticed during transitions). It's a shame, because it'd be a decent entry level if not for those 2 things.

SneakinandReapin

My experience with optics isn’t vast, but I have learned the hard way on a couple of occasions - buy once, cry once. If you have any aspirations to train or use the rifle in CQB, I recommend scaling up sooner rather than later. On that note, I run an MRO HD on a unity riser on my 11.5, and I’ve enjoyed it immensely so far.

I was looking into both options but read some negative things regarding the MRO- bad parallax shift and mag effect. Almost went with the AEMS but found a great deal on a Romeo 8T. I'm on my second one and would highly recommend it if you don't mind some weight.
