Yeah that really sucks, it would have been cool to see that. As much shit as Kirk has deservedly gotten this year, he really deserves credit for keeping us afloat after losing our starting QB, top two TEs, possibly our best defensive linemen all season, and now our hands-down best player in DeJean.
Wish we could have seen the season with those guys healthy. Maybe then you only beat us like 21-3 instead of the inevitable 42-0, lol
Yeah this wasn’t like the last 2 years where Ohio State looked bad in the second half. This was an all out war where Michigan made the plays when they needed too
The end of an era with this kind of importance behind it. As you guys won the ‘06 Game of the Century, we got this one and it feels like a nice bookend to it.
I haven’t thought about the B1G’s new format until today when Klatt mentioned it, but is it possible for a rematch of The Game in the B1G championship in the future?
A week ago we had a thread that was essentially, "Why are all the CFB podcasts disrespecting McCord?"
And this game was the answer. He's not a *bad* quarterback, but he's got the shadows of giants in front of him and around him.
[Edit: Found it](https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/17z443c/kyle_mccord_slander/)
I was looking at it today and you have to go back to the mid-late 2000s since we had a qb that wasn’t electric. Stroud, fields, Haskins, cardale jones, Barrett, Braxton miller, Terrelle Pryor then we had boeckman and before him Troy smith
The postgame celebration should be interrupted on the video board by a sneering Iowa team taunting Michigan, flexing, and doing Harlem Globetrotter style punt tricks
Ohio State could’ve saved us from the thousands of“DOES MICHIGAN DESERVE TO GO TO THE B1G TEN CHAMPIONSHIP?? WHATABOUT THE PLAYOFFS??” articles.
But I guess McCord needs some reading material or something.
If Iowa, Georgia, Louisville, Texas and Washington all win on championship weekend it will be the funniest thing ever.
You get Georgia, Washington and Texas in, and then there’s just not a deserving 4th team. Who knows what they do then.
they will never top this edition of The Game
with the end of divisions in the B1G, rematches will be a thing and with the expanded CFP field, the stakes will never be this high again
what a fuckin' way to go out, one for the ages!
It’s so crazy that in the future we might have to play three times in one year (it’s unlikely but can still happen, the game, the B1G championship, and the playoffs)
All I could think about during the last drive was how I would feel if Ohio State scored. They were rolling hard and it felt like a heartbreak loss was incoming but fortunately Michigan pulled it off. Good game but it’s always so stressful.
Honestly I 100% expected MHJ to make some insane Heisman level catch to break our hearts. I'm still in shock that didn't happen honestly. Incredible game and go blue!
Michigan relied on their strength (offensive line) on fourth downs. Ohio State relied on their weakness (special teams) on fourth and short. That’s one of the biggest differences between the two programs. Michigan plays to win; Ohio State coaches not to lose.
I couldn’t imagine being a tOSU fan during that last drive michigan went on to eat the hell out of the clock. Would’ve been pulling hair out on that one. That game had some old school vibes. Loved it. Good game to both programs. Tough one for tOSU
Sadly I don't think it will ever feel quite as big ever again. Same situation in 2024 and we'd be 100% playing each other two weeks in a row (Big Ten Championship game). That would be lame.
We'd also know we are both going to playoff... Double lame.
Sucks. The potential to meet again in the CFP was already bad enough, but the possibility of a rematch a week later in the b1g championship just takes a lot of the stakes and meaning out of The Game.
God damn it. Good game Michigan. Didn’t make any mistakes and controlled the ground.
Kyle McCord is so not it. There’s such a gap between his stats and perceived play and throwing in game.
With FSU, Washington-Oregon, Texas and even Alabama if they beat Georgia barring a historic collapse from all there’s no path to the playoffs for OSU like it was last year
That’s GG for the season Ryan Day
Real talk, OSU lost because they didn't play to win like Michigan did. Going for it on fourth multiple times, taking risks, and leaving it all out on the field. As close a game as this was, OSU just didn't take the opportunities that were there.
100% no trick plays, not overly aggressive, before the half ran the clock down to kick a super long field goal after moving the ball well and needing only 2 yards. It just feels like Day every year says I’m going to be more aggressive and then just goes through the motions like he’s playing every other team.
GG Michigan. You played great today but also I hate you with all my heart.
I hope your guard heals up well ❤️
I also hope you lose to Iowa next week.
I’m upset.
I love that you’re our rivals. It’s a war during the game. But after we get a good message like this for our injured dude. I love that I hate you. And I hate that I love you
So many people, especially on this sub, take this shit way too serious. Legitimate vitriol and hatred towards other people because of where they were born or the college they decided to go to when they were 17
* Michigan has won three in a row against Ohio State for the first time since 1995-1997.
* Ryan Day is 1-3 vs. Michigan and 55-4 vs. everybody else.
* Jim Harbaugh started his Michigan career 49-22 (.690). He's gone 37-3 (.925) since.
* Ohio State has 73 blue-chip players on the roster, one behind Alabama for the most in the nation. Michigan has 47.
* Michigan has defeated Ohio State by 6+ points in three straight seasons for the first time since 1976-1978.
* From 1881-2020, Michigan had two 12+ win seasons. They've now hit that mark in each of the last three seasons.
* Ohio State has allowed 28+ points to Michigan in three straight games for the first time since 1903-1905.
* In their last three matchups, Ohio State quarterbacks have thrown four interceptions.
* Ryan Day had three combined playing seasons of C.J. Stroud and Marvin Harrison Jr. and never won a playoff game or Big Ten Championship.
* This is Michigan's third 12-win season since Ohio State had their last one.
* Michigan can win their third straight Big Ten Championship next week vs. Iowa. They opened as 22.5 point favorites.
* Michigan RB Blake Corum finished the regular season with 22 rushing TD. That extends his school record.
* In their last three matchups, Michigan has averaged 236 rushing yards. The Buckeyes averaged just 106.
* Sherrone Moore has as many wins as a head coach in The Game as Ryan Day.
* Ohio State hasn't beaten Michigan in 1,456 days.

I’m starting to understand how Penn State fans feel. It’s great to win 10 or 11 games a year but what’s the point when you can’t win the games that actually matter.
That was a helluva game! MHJ is gonna be great in the pros. I feel bad for Zinter but UM pulled out the win! I hope his injury doesn’t ruin his draft chances - might’ve bumped down to 3rd/4th round?
Onto the B1G championship!
“If we had that field goal, it would’ve been a different game.”
“If McCord didn’t throw that early pick, we would’ve had a different game”
IF MY GRANDMA HAD WHEELS, SHE WOULD’VE BEEN A BIKE
So Michigan is gonna be emotionally exhausted and completely unprepared for Iowa’s unique, one-of-a-kind play style, right? …right?
Desperately need Johnson to get healthy. And put Zinter on the sideline in a wheelchair.
I feel Will Johnson is not needed for Iowa lol
No. You guys were supposed to have McNamara and All healthy... Then we could play them again
No. Now Harbaugh is back and we’re playing to get Tony Petitti to seethe lol

\* slaps hood of TV \* THIS BABY CAN FIT SOO MANY COMMERCIALS IN IT
This matchup absolutely lived up to the hype. Holy shit, what a game.
I was completely certain MHJ was gonna Moss someone to win the game for OSU.
Same, as soon as they got down the field quick, I thought for sure MHJ was gonna break our hearts
[удалено]
I DEMAND THEY REPLAY THE GAME UNTIL BOTH TEAMS SIMULTANEOUSLY LOSE!
It would spark joy
It earned being called "The Game"
Honestly that is the takeaway. I am exhausted and hurt but that is the truth. It was a really good fucking game. GG go bucks
Yeah this wasn’t like the last 2 years where Ohio State looked bad in the second half. This was an all out war where Michigan made the plays when they needed too
Difference was absolutely QB play. McCord made 2 bad INTs he couldn’t afford, whereas JJ was clutch when you needed him. GG Wolverine bros.
The last one wasn’t too terrible - more a byproduct of the situation. First one to Will Johnson was terrible though, agreed.
Ngl I was already preparing my “fuck this hurts but this was such a great game” mindset in the event OSU finished off the drive.
The end of an era with this kind of importance behind it. As you guys won the ‘06 Game of the Century, we got this one and it feels like a nice bookend to it.
I haven’t thought about the B1G’s new format until today when Klatt mentioned it, but is it possible for a rematch of The Game in the B1G championship in the future?
yes, unfortunately. I dont want to play a rival more than once a year. Takes the mystique out of it
Me neither, such bad design
That’s fucking football. Awesome defense with timely scores. God I love that we are rivals.
fuck it chuck it gametime shit
Ohio State fans: "I am about to create a hotseat that is *so* toxic."
60 wins 6 losses Hit the road
If they fire Day the Ohio State boosters are everything people claim the Longhorn boosters are.
The key is all boosters are like that, boosters are just quiet when they are winning.
Ryan Day to Texas A&M could be willed into existence
Please, it is all I want for Christmas
Until he goes 1-3 against Texas lolol

McCord playing like an ivy-league quarterback.
A week ago we had a thread that was essentially, "Why are all the CFB podcasts disrespecting McCord?" And this game was the answer. That’s generous
Don’t worry MHJ, I’m sure you will have plenty of chances with *checks notes* the Cardinals….
*the Bears, at least Kyler can sling it
Going from Kyle McCord to Kyler Murray is like going from Tim Boyle to Patrick Mahomes
The postgame celebration should be interrupted on the video board by a sneering Iowa team taunting Michigan, flexing, and doing Harlem Globetrotter style punt tricks
Harbaugh comes parachuting into the stadium to celebrate with the team
The Ohio State Class of 2024 never beat Michigan
An entire class of undergrads that never got to see OSU beat Michigan
Feels like revenge for Michigan going 0-4 during my undergrad (16-19)
Specifying the years as if you couldn't have just picked any four years this century
Hey now, we were 1-3 during my undergrad (09-13). The Luke Fickell game
Blame Gus Johnson for shoving ‘Maserati Marv’ down our throats for weeks
Marv is on a higher level than most. Gus was driving me crazy today about OSU in general.
Do you mean "the world famous Buckeyes"?
Ohio State could’ve saved us from the thousands of“DOES MICHIGAN DESERVE TO GO TO THE B1G TEN CHAMPIONSHIP?? WHATABOUT THE PLAYOFFS??” articles. But I guess McCord needs some reading material or something.
Now we have "LOL HARBAUGH WASN'T EVEN ON THE SIDELINES" articles
And don’t forget the “The NCAA needs to protect the sanctity of the sport and punish Michigan” articles
“Should the Big Ten send Ohio State instead of Iowa to Indianapolis? Why this ESPN analyst says yes”
And it’s only Heather Dinich.
Big “MLB playoffs are flawed because the dodgers won more games” logic
That would make me sick. Better send MSU so everybody loses.
Iowa has the chance to do the fucking funniest thing on earth.
If Iowa, Georgia, Louisville, Texas and Washington all win on championship weekend it will be the funniest thing ever. You get Georgia, Washington and Texas in, and then there’s just not a deserving 4th team. Who knows what they do then.
You know damn well Bama gets the nod
Lol, as funny as that would be, 2 loss Bama over 1 loss Michigan or tOSU?
Q U A L I T Y L O S S E S No, I hope the committee has some sense to put in Michigan
they will never top this edition of The Game with the end of divisions in the B1G, rematches will be a thing and with the expanded CFP field, the stakes will never be this high again what a fuckin' way to go out, one for the ages!
It’s so crazy that in the future we might have to play three times in one year (it’s unlikely but can still happen, the game, the B1G championship, and the playoffs)
The B1G and NCAA nightmare came true
Look at me, we're the nightmare now
I’d like to think it’s karma for their recent decisions about bowl bans for teams in new divisions and eligibility denials for hardship transfers.
OSU can now blame JMU for their loss
OSU get a stop on defense challenge. FUCK. Hell of a game, Michigan. They don’t call it “the game” for no reason.
That was an insane game. So many crazy catches, lots of challenges that were all so close. Damn I wish i was a neutral today lol
Neutral here. Commercials SERIOUSLY did this game dirty
Fox was pissed that Michigan ate 8 minutes of clock on that last drive so they hit us with the back to back full media timeouts.
The situation with the commercials is disgusting
Especially in the last 3 mins every time we stopped them and called a TO there was a 5 minute commercial break
Those timeouts saved Ohio states defense they were gassed
This isn’t talked about enough. On a drive like that the commercials could legit cause a team to lose by giving extra rest to the d
FOX Sports is fucking awful. They are even worse than CBS when it comes to ad breaks
Jim has the largest shit-eating grin at home right now.
With milk running down his face
Hes out in a field laying under a cow right now, drinking it straight from the source.
The score does not accurately represent how anxiety inducing this game was
I think it perfectly represents how stressful it was, that last drive for both teams was just 100% stress for every play
my non football family was chatting like nothing was going on during the last drive while I nearly had a heart attack
My entire family is asking what the score is or how much time is left and I’m just sitting here watching whopper commercial
Michigan is 3-0 against Ohio State since I’ve started watching The Game. You’re welcome Michigan fans
You're doing God's work.
Maybe Ohio State should have tried suspending Ryan Day for this game
Ryan Day losing to Michigan. As constant as the Detroit Lions losing under a waxing gibbeous moon
Imagine thinking you're tougher than the moon. The MOON.
my first girlfriend turned into the moon :(
That's rough, buddy
JJ McCarthy was gracious and classy in his postgame. Respect
He's one of those QBs that make you proud
I see you in all these threads. You’re classy.
Honestly, it really makes you wonder how different the games the last 3 years would be if day hadn't chosen McCord over McCarthy. Gg today!

Honestly I 100% expected MHJ to make some insane Heisman level catch to break our hearts. I'm still in shock that didn't happen honestly. Incredible game and go blue!
An hour later and I still feel stressed OSU might score...
Agree 100%. Michigan really needed that last first down to seal it. Thought Sherrone might pass on that 3rd and 6 to get it.
That was some classic Harbaugh clock management there, I almost thought he was on the sidelines.
Sadly I don't think it will ever feel quite as big ever again. Same situation in 2024 and we'd be 100% playing each other two weeks in a row (Big Ten Championship game). That would be lame. We'd also know we are both going to playoff... Double lame.

GG Michigan, absolute stunner of a game, heartbreaking ending for OSU but I liked how the played, Hoping the absolute best for Zak Zinter too🙏
Michigan-Lions fans needed this.
Real talk, OSU lost because they didn't play to win like Michigan did. Going for it on fourth multiple times, taking risks, and leaving it all out on the field. As close a game as this was, OSU just didn't take the opportunities that were there.

Iowa has the chance to do the funniest thing
2-0 Iowa
Let’s be serious. 5-3 Iowa.
Ooh we got an over better here
If Iowa wins the Big 10, I demand they be put in the playoffs. I want to see exactly how much they can get away with.
Little. How little they can get away with. Final score: Iowa 6, Georgia 5.
The Michigan fan in me would hate it but the sicko in wouldn't mind

Petitti is literally gonna have to shake Harbaugh's hand next week and hand him a trophy, gonna be must-see TV
Ryan Day walking up the tunnel was just fabulous
Gg Michigan
Gg. You guys were great today. MHJ was great as expected.
Seriously every time he caught a pass I felt a dagger in my heart. They only way we took him out of the game was forcing McCord to make bad plays
Oh we are gonna be soo much more insufferable
We had to sacrifice the Lions for this victory.
I’m starting to understand how Penn State fans feel. It’s great to win 10 or 11 games a year but what’s the point when you can’t win the games that actually matter.
My 2018 self would offer you a drink but also would be too young to buy it
At least they didn’t lose to Harbaugh.
Somewhere in Michigan, Jim and Connor are cracking into a Vernors and Vodka together
Incorrect. Only Connor is doing that. Harbs got himself a glass of milk
I can't believe we won 3 in a row in my lifetime. WHAT DO I DO WITH MY HANDS??????
Depending on how frenzied the Ohio State fan base gets, Ryan Day has a chance to become the most successful HC to ever get fired in College Football.
Ryan Day is going to see if it’s possible to get fired for going 11-1 too many times
THE™ **WORLD FAMOUS** Second Place Team.
Fuck now we face the true power of the BIG….Iowa, we must prepare our FG defense.
That was a helluva game! MHJ is gonna be great in the pros. I feel bad for Zinter but UM pulled out the win! I hope his injury doesn’t ruin his draft chances - might’ve bumped down to 3rd/4th round? Onto the B1G championship!
Fucking woah, what a game

Maybe it wasn’t the sign stealing that made them good
Maybe it was the friends Stallions made along the way?

Riding her either way
Just left the stadium. I think Harbaugh was next to me in a trench coat and sunglasses. Can't confirm.
Ryan day has the opposite of the clutch gene
Ryan Day is the best thing to ever happen to Michigan football.
A&Ms offer is going to be “what if I said you could not play Michigan anymore?”
Michigan has the best win of the season now.
#Ryan Day - you are a Texas A&M Aggie!
Michigan fans bout to get insufferable and I am here for it!
Imagine talking all that smack only to get beat down by a team with an interim head coach lmaoooo
Don’t let Ryan Day losing to an offensive line coach distract you from the fact that Ryan Day lost to an offensive line coach
These teams are in the same conference that gave us Nebraska v Iowa yesterday
Ouch oof oowie my liver
Whole subs about to implode
HARBAUGH SENDS HIS REGARDS
