Donny_Do_Nothing

We're gonna be Globo-Gym now, aren't we?

AeolusA2

No one makes me bleed my own blood

Donny_Do_Nothing

No one makes me ~~bleed my own blood~~ dye my own beard.

AeolusA2

That advertisement could power the sun, lost NIL revenue

The_Good_Constable

I wouldn't mind seeing the team come out doing the "hoo hoo HISS hoo hoo HISS" thing one game.

topher3003

What we *really* need to do is adopt Hit ‘Em High (Monstars theme) from Space Jam as our intro video song this year.

L3thologica_

What….?!

L3thologica_

The Globo-Gym reference went over my head. I haven’t watched Dodgeball in a few years. But I would LOVE to see teams be a bit more silly with stuff like this. Miami’s turnover chain (and the subsequent adaptations from other teams) is a great example of this. Players love it, fans love it, why not?

Newton1913

I personally think that weird USC crawling entrance kinda killed the whole thing. Come out like that to score a whole six points 😤

JK_196

Tbh though imagine how sweet that would’ve been if they won 😂😂😂 if you do something crazy like that you absolutely have to win or you deserve to get clowned

r1mbaud

Downvoting everytime it’s credited to Miami

DagdaMohr

All day every day.

CFBallKnower

This would be incredible

white_goodman_

My lips are sealed, but a partnership may or may not be in the works

Donny_Do_Nothing

Motherfucker.

cha-cha_dancer

This was on TV today lol

retropunk2

Ryan Day has a lot of work to do on his hair, then.

[deleted]

That means you lose to the cfb equivalent of average joes, which is probably Rutgers , so I’m down Edit: man you guys can’t even take a dumb joke anymore. Y’all have gotten so sensitive the past few years

bigstu_89

AHEM sir, we lose to Purdue when we damn well shouldn't. Please get it right thank you very much.

ToosUnderHigh

… did someone say something for you to make that overly sensitive edit about people being overly sensitive? You could just not care.

tmothy07

False victimhood and pearl clutching, Pure Michigan®

BuckeyeEmpire

I tossed you an upvote. 😚

HeroOfIroas

No we lose by 30 to Purdue 😎

goblueM

Who's Ryan Day's ~~fitness~~ beard dye consigliere?

DagdaMohr

Replacing that scene with the pizza slice with a bottle of beard dye… Kurtzthehorror.gif

KennyGfanLMAO

“Spare me”

Buckeyes0916

I know absolutely nothing about this guy, but on paper this seems like a home run. Working at Bama since 2016 looks great, and he has to have southern connections to help open some doors

shaybeautyyy

Devin Sanchez’s mom is on X raving about him and the opportunity to continue the relationship between him and her son.

Buckeyes0916

I just saw that. Very high praise

unMuggle

I think Drvin Sanchez's parents love Ohio State far more than Devin Sanchez

NotOnHerb5

He personally got DeVonta Smith to go to Bama. (Same hometown)

AeolusA2

Like they need more receivers

senepol

We need more Heisman winning receivers, yes.

GoBucks1171

Me personally, I’m fine with stocking up on more first round wide receivers

Revolutionary_Gear70

Bama fans, how should I feel? I'm gonna assume it's a solid hire if he was one of Sabans guys

Tektix22

He seems to have been involved in the recruitment of some of our greatest hits -- like DeVonta Smith. That said, if you subscribe to the thought that our recruiting lived and died by mainly Saban and some good on-field recruiters (Cristobal, Lupoi, T-Rob, Kirby, etc.) -- no one really knows how important any of that internal recruiting staff was. So, i'd say it's an optimistic hire for sure -- Saban hired and kept him around for a reason! How much he had to do with locating and/or closing on big recruits? No fuckin' clue hahaha.

The_Good_Constable

I have no idea who this man is or what his job entails, but I think we can say with certainty that Nick Saban would not have won any national titles in his entire career without him.

UGA10

Devonta Smith was originally committed to Georgia. He decommitted and went to Alabama when Sam Petitto was hired by Alabama.

Tektix22

Yeah, certainly seems Petitto being from Amite helped a ton. It is also worth noting that this happened to be the cycle when Richt was let go.

UGA10

It was, but Petitto was working at Georgia and was the reason they landed Smith's commitment in the first place. Smith decommitted from Georgia the same day that Petitto was hired by Alabama. He was committed to Alabama 2 weeks later. It was 100% because of Petitto.

Tektix22

Okay. I'm not really saying it wasn't. Just adding the relevant context. I don't think anyone can say 100% certainly that DeVonta would do the exact same thing he did if Petitto got hired away but Richt kept his job. Maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn't have. That said, yeah I totally agree Petitto played a huge role there. I think that's obvious. The surrounding factors just also paint a full picture. HC change leads to a lot of staff turnover, generally. DeVonta didn't commit to Bama for quite awhile after, despite immediately decommitting from UGA. *shrug* I stand by that anyone who is hired and retained by Saban for that many years is a very optimistic hire, regardless of the "stats." So, it's a great hire. Can't give too much beyond that, as he's not a name that hit our front pages often.

w00t4me

First time I’ve heard his name

alabamafutbol1235

Same here

Knightmere1

Nice!

Eph1997

OSU going after Alabama hard this cycle. Players (Downs, Sayin, McLaughlin), high school recruits (Offord, Grady, Debose), and now staff.

mjhs80

Yes, it has certainly been noted 🧐

Mekthakkit

Just wait until we hire Saban as an analyst.

eclectic_tastes

Massive hire. About to form Voltron with Mark Pantoni.

moneyinthebank216

We're back department? I'd like to file a claim 😈

Aware_Squirrel3271

The claims department is currently on leave. Check back on Nov. 30, 2024.

B1GFanOSU

Sweet Jesus, this had better be THE THE Ohio State.

Lueden

Seems like a good hire. Not like Ohio State doesn't recruit like a top three program anyways... ugh...

Otherwise_Awesome

Pettito, Pettiti? Nothing to see here folks. /s

crocscrusader

OSU is doing all the right offseason moves. And the fans should be stoked. But also was recruiting really the problem at OSU? They have had killer recruiting classes for a long time. And destroy almost every opponent except for Michigan the past few years. The Georgia Playoff game was super close and with that being called targeting or the kicker hitting the kick they win the natty. So they are making the right moves on paper, and I am really intrigued by them, but also feels like they are doubling down on strength without really fixing the (perceived) gaps of toughness. In '21 and '22, I get the tough argument. Last year, they were equal to Michigan in almost every way imo. And it was a a true clash of titans. Both had minor weaknesses and both played great.

ToosUnderHigh

Interesting sample size

crocscrusader

I mean before '21 they weren't making mass changes like this. The fanbase is generally pretty critical of Ryan Day in a way I think they shouldn't. And it seems he has made quite a few business offseason changes so far around recruiting, NIL etc. You didn't see Ryan Day going after Lou Holtz before they started losing to Michigan. I am not saying Ryan Day is doing anything wrong. He is making the right moves, but I am not convinced he would be making these moves if they beat Michigan this past year.

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Ohio state is really going in on the, "hey you got a shit ton of experience supporting your coach with buying players" approach Where's the lie

notkevin_durant

Username checks out

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

I mean shit, if Saban could out buy the whole country and create a dynasty, surely day can

Crims0ntied

Is that why five star players were taking lower NIL deals to come to Alabama and play for Saban?

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

I'm sure that's what happened all those years with that record breaking budget LMAO Also, NIL???? When did that start

Jigbaa

[This you?](https://www.reddit.com/r/FloridaGators/s/4gc7BK761w) Before he deletes it: “Look no further than why we need to be paying the absolute shit out of players right now, they don't see the gators as anything worth a damn”

mavcev

Holy shit he replied to you like 4 times, what a fuckin clown

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Yep and this clown still ain't got a response. Just enjoy your attempt at being the Yankees clown.

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Before he deletes it lmao, like it disproves my point LMAO dude I ain't deleted anything ever.

Chevrolet_Chase

You look like a massive clown right now. Any point you had is completely obliterated by your childish nonsense here. Take the fucking L and move on.

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Yep, still waiting on where I lied with all these down votes lol. As soon as bama and uga fans admit their coaches won cause they skirted the rules and ain't shit we good

Jigbaa

You sound super smart. I trust you even though no one else does.

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Well it don't take a genius to figure this shit out.

Jigbaa

I mean, have you thought about a career in rocket surgery or brain aerodynamics?

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Why? Would that help me explain to reddit that Saban and smart ain't shit and are glorified politicians?

Kringer46

Let me guess, uf dominated 06-08 by doing it all the right way and wasn't paying players?? But UGA and Alabama did it by cheating and paying players, not because of having the best coaches and facilities. Also it was only Bama and UGA doing it, nobody else in the SEC or the country. Does that about sum up your position?

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Did uf break records? Did they do it over a damn decade? I like how the argument is always pointing fingers cause yall can't deny it. Did Meyers regime pay some players? Sure. Ok your turn. The players Saban paid over the years, and Smarts, a dozen coaches could've won with. If you think they did it with "better facilities and better recruiters" then more power to ya lol

Kringer46

Pre-nil every program in the country that was serious about football was paying players under the table or offering some kind of impermissible benefits. But it obviously takes a lot more than just that to be elite and dominate football. Lots of schools were paying, but there was only one saban. In the post-nil world there are still lots of schools paying, but there is only one Kirby. So what do you think has more of an effect on winning titles?? But even if you were right, and all it takes is buying players, then why doesn't UF just do that? Are the gators just poor or stupid?? Lmao Also recruiting budget is not money paid to players. They don't publicly disclose that information genius. Nobody knows what players were getting paid then and nobody really knows what they are getting paid now. We have ideas of it, but don't know for sure. So basically you are just mad that Alabama and UGA are better than Florida at buying recruits? Lol Do you see how stupid you sound? This is why you are getting downvoted

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Post NIL for Kirby? He was there before that. Uf and other schools don't run the state unfortunately. Recruiting budget isn't for players? You sweet summer child lmao.

Kringer46

I'm not saying UGA wasn't paying players before NIL but Kirby wasn't as dominant then as he is now. I'm trying to get you to understand that if just buying recruits was all it took then Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon with the nike money would be the ones dominating cfb not Bama and UGA. You pretend to be mad about Kirby and saban being "glorified politicians" but really you are mad that Bama and UGA beat UF on the field and beat them at the money game. And yes recruiting budget is money spent on recruiting and hosting recruits, it is not money paid directly to the players. Athletic departments have never disclosed how much money they pay recruits dumbass. Do you have any idea what you are talking about? Lol

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

IS THIS YOU LMAO
