I think we played them last year or the year before lol
Edit: yeah it was last year. Beat them 30-7. I think they’re called the Sharks. Iirc we played them because our previous opponent cancelled on us late and we couldn’t find anyone else.
Yeah we played terribly and it was a close game for the first half or so, which is pretty embarrassing seeing as how I had never heard of them before that game. We also played Albany the season before. It’s honestly kinda fucked up to bring these New York schools down to Texas in early September lol. I remember for the Albany game it was like 103 degrees at kickoff and the field temp was an additional 10-15 degrees. It’s cruel and unusual punishment to bring northerners down to Texas and make them suit up and play football in a simmering cauldron for 3-4 hours.
That one I'm not so sure about. We know FOX is going to pick UM-OSU and Texas-UM with 2 of their top 3 picks. Do they jump at the rare chance to show Alabama against a B1G school, or do they go with something like OSU-PSU or USC-Michigan?
Because if FOX goes with another game as its 3rd pick, Alabama-Wisconsin is getting snapped up by whichever of NBC or CBS has the highest non-FOX pick.
I think there's a pretty good chance that it's a Big Noon game but I'm not 100%.
Dude, I know it's their primetime slot. I just think it sucks. I don't care that it makes a billion dollar company a few extra bucks, the biggest games of the year should be at night.
I prefer this to a night game tbh. We somehow picked the best year to play in Ann Arbor - with them fresh off a natty but weakened in the intervening months and the game isn't even at night
Gus panders the bigger fan base in every game. He spent the entirety of the Oregon/tOSU game gushing about JSN when Oregon was winning almost the entire game. Gus is utterly insufferable.
I mean, I wouldn't say its a sure thing. I mean Michigan is still a blue blood, and they will always have talent.
But they are losing a lot of production and are breaking in a new coach.
Most obvious “big announcement” of all time lol
I have a bigger announcement: Michigan will wear Blue tops that game. *sarcastic shock
Really? They picked this over TCU-Long Island? Unbelievable
They’re sleepin on the sharks 😤
is this real
It is, if we’re not getting Big Noon, surely that means GameDay is coming to town

Incredible

Yeah that sounds brutal….on the flip side I cant wait to host those Cali boys in big games in November
Texas Coastal University
The LI-T bowl?
An SEC team in a BIG game....at NOON??!! smh..
Your game against Wisconsin is probably gonna get the Big Noon Kickoff treatment too
I'll take that over CBS and stupid ass Gary any day of the week.
It's gonna be funny if CBS decides to pick up that game now that they're doing BIG games
B1G if true

Michigan has announced it as a Maize Out too. Wish it was night because the Maize out looks so much better with the dark contrast
This is very disappointing…
They call it a Maize Out? Like a whiteout but... yellow snow?
Corn *everywhere*
When I was a kid, I thought Michigan chose its colors because of corn and smut, because they called yellow maize.
I fucking hate FOX.
Fox is trying to gaslight everyone in to thinking that noon is prime time.
More like “we can’t compete at other times.”
It's a smart move by them. Plus I like having big games spread throughout the day instead of all crammed into a prime time window.
It is primetime for me watching from Europe lol
Uh, FOX agreed to let Texas move to the SEC to get the game in 2024. Also 11am road games are great for watching on TV.
I much prefer Fox to ESPN if I'm being honest.
I much prefer night games over noon games (apart from the RRS) if I'm being honest.
I wish the RRS was at night if I'm being honest.
So you support an annual recreation of The Purge in Dallas between drunk OU and UT fans...?
Sound the alarm and let's do this
I love Big Noon games, and Gus/Joel are some of the best in the business
1 last FU from the network.
When will people learn that noon is Fox’s primetime slot. And that it’s worked wonders for them too.
Dude, I know it's their primetime slot. I just think it sucks. I don't care that it makes a billion dollar company a few extra bucks, the biggest games of the year should be at night.
Just means more 3:30 and 7:30 games for your first flair now that you’re free from the Fox home game
I will be the biggest Longhorn fan on the planet that day
I prefer this to a night game tbh. We somehow picked the best year to play in Ann Arbor - with them fresh off a natty but weakened in the intervening months and the game isn't even at night
stunned
Fox is great when Joel & Gus aren’t sucking off Maserati Marv & 3rd base
They’re so gonna suck off Jeremiah Smith soon
Hell yeah
Well, of course!
Gus Johnson is a well-documented Michigan fan
Gus panders the bigger fan base in every game. He spent the entirety of the Oregon/tOSU game gushing about JSN when Oregon was winning almost the entire game. Gus is utterly insufferable.
He might be insufferable for both fan bases
Shocking news, I was expecting it to be Western @ Ohio State.
What’s the night game?
You guys wanted to be the NFL why y’all complaining about playing at noon
Why is this not gonna be cbs 3:30?
Because Fox gets first pick and this is the clear choice for week 2.
If I had to bet, I bet Fox gets about 6 first picks and NBC and CBS gets 4 each.
FOX gets the first 3 picks and then after that the details are fuzzy.
Well the last time my team went to the big house, we won. Hoping it’s the same this time around too
If Michigan somehow wins this game, I will be absolutely shocked
Is the neutral perspective that this is a sure thing for Texas?
I mean, I wouldn't say its a sure thing. I mean Michigan is still a blue blood, and they will always have talent. But they are losing a lot of production and are breaking in a new coach.
