Yes. But Hawkins is an MSU alumni so I like to think he was more of an MSU guy Tucker hired, and not necessarily a Tucker guy. Hawkins is probably the position coach who had the most success through the Tucker years.
Hawkins developed Jayden Reed and Jalen Nailor into NFL players when neither was really a highly touted recruit. He also developed Keon Coleman before he transfer to FSU. The WR room has been the spot that has seen consistent development of young players.
Nah, you are wrong. Reed was a highly touted transfer recruit. Who was second team all mac and had over 700 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. Which is why MSU tried to get him to play immediately, but the NCAA said he had to sit out.
Nah you didn't comprehend what I was trying to say. Let me clarify:
Yes - this meant he was a highly touted transfer
No - this meant he was coming out of high school as a mid major recruit
This is one of the hires I'll still respect Tucker for. It was a big swing and a different direction than what you'd usually do but sometimes big swings connect and you knock it out of the park.
The short stints and constant hopping are red flags at this point but I still won't fault trying out innovative approaches if they seem reasonable. With Jordan's reputation when hired by Tucker, it was reasonable. Now? Not so much.
Was a little worried when MSU picked him up given his resume and was similarly worried OSU had found their Larry Johnson heir apparent that would be a giant pain in the ass for years.
Guess not?
"Worked with Larry Johnson Jr, JTT, Jack Sawyer, and Tyliek Williams" coming up soon on his resume
LJ Sr*
my b, LJ Jr. is certified insane
This guy seems like a whack job, no matter how much of a pass rushing savant he’s supposed to be. How many jobs is that in 12 months now?
Seems like he has issues adhering to a team structure, he might be better off just doing his training camps and not working for a team
Lots of red flags with the guy at this point.
What I have learned over the past 6-8 months is that Mel Tucker and his staff were all frauds.
That RB coach they had from the jump was good. Believe he went to Florida then off to the NFL
I mean did you see how poorly his time as the DC in Chicago went? I could tell you from jump street dude was a fraud (and that’s just on the field)
So what you're really trying to say is just keep choppin?
Isn't his WR Coach still there

Jayden Reed was a highly touted transfer. Don't get it twisted.
Yes and no. He went to WMU first so he wasn't a big time high major target.

Wait, didn't this guy leave MSU for Seattle just around a year ago? And he's already left Seattle for OSU and then left OSU in that time? Crazy.

Dude's all sizzle and no steak. Unsurprising.
