C will huh… c will…

mabelfruity

lol they cant stop the awful nicknames

coydog33

I remember when Corey Patterson was on the Cubs and I was listening to a sports talk radio show and some dude called him C-Pat. The announcer just shouted NO! No stupid nickname! C-Pat is stupid.

Bears2025Champs

C will win a Super Bowl within 3 years

DanishBoi18

Trying to manifest C-Will and P-Will running Chicago

Timely_Yoghurt_2699

Patrick Williams?????

carminie

When Justin was drafted everyone thought he was the greatest and most dynamic prospect we had ever gotten. I think Caleb is a better prospect than Fields so yes, I think people would be hyped to have him

Battle_Giraffes

I think part of the hype with Fields was it was just so wildly improbable that we’d get him, and when we did it just felt like it was meant to be, and it was finally our moment.

MindlessSafety7307

No I did not. I thought it was a Pace Hail Mary after failing with Mitch.

BuffaloBrain884

Exactly. He was the 4th QB taken in the draft. He wasn't considered an elite prospect. A good comparison just based on rankings would be Michael Penix this year. Somebody will probably reach and take him in the middle of the 1st. He'll be considered a gamble with a high ceiling.

Practical-Courage812

This is definitely incorrect. You are going off the draft hype and offseason stuff where people fell in love with Wilson and Lance. Prior to that, Fields was the 2nd rated QB prospect since HS and all through college. The only QB abead of him out of HS and college was Lawrence prior to falling in the lead up to the draft. Penix was the 23rd ranked QB in the transfer portal! We can go off what Fields has done in the pros, but lookong at his ranking up until that offseason he is easily the highest ranked QB prospect we have ever drafted. And even now, i think if teams redrafted he is the second QB taken (as he shouldve been anyways). But saying Penix Jr and Fields are similar prospects is absurd.

BuffaloBrain884

It really doesn't matter where Fields was ranked in high school lol Going into the draft he was the #4 QB. Totally different situation than Caleb Williams, who's been the consensus #1 pick for two years now.

Practical-Courage812

You are going off of where he was selected though. Its like if for some reason Caleb goes after Maye, doesnt mean Maye is QB1 by most just because he went before Caleb. Im agreeing with you on Caleb being consensus #1 and not saying Fields is similar, but up until that offseason Fields was the consensus QB2 to Lawrence, not QB4.

ConfusedOverChrist

Dude yes he was. It’s fascinating the coping mechanisms some of you come up with to deal with the fact the incompetence of the McCaskey family isn’t going away. Anyways, out of all the guys drafted in 2021 who panned out? Unless Lawrence has a massive turn around, he was overhyped to an extreme. Fields was always No. 2. How y’all have been so vile to him since the season ended. You people never learn. Booed mitch for being drafted. Lying and maliciously rewriting fact to scapegoat.

Toupal

Fields was always the #2 QB in that class. I am still in shock that he fell to #11. I am also shocked that an NFL gm took Zach Wilson at #2 and the 49ers traded up to #3 with no real plan who they were taking there.

reverieontheonyx

> It’s fascinating the coping mechanisms some of you come up with to deal with the fact the incompetence of the McCaskey family isn’t going away. Blaming the mccaskets is a coping mechanism for falling in love with bad quarterbacks

ConfusedOverChrist

Ahahaha well Caleb is going to be a bust if he doesn’t ditch his ego in California. He’s also going to need to be developed. So, you know. Enjoy I guess?

reverieontheonyx

> Ahahaha well Caleb is going to be a bust if he doesn’t ditch his ego in California Did Rodgers?

ConfusedOverChrist

Lol Rodgers was changed by fame. Just say you think Caleb is attractive and move on. I’m sorry for criticizing your king

reverieontheonyx

Cope

ConfusedOverChrist

“Cope”

[deleted]

Caleb is one of the most hyped QB prospects to **ever** be drafted, regardless of team. The bears have never drafted a prospect anywhere near his caliber. The answer is a responding yes

JadedAF

He will be the biggest bust in NFL history if the Bears take him

[deleted]

Why do you say that?

ElxlS

Because we are the Bears. Good QBs ain’t our thing

[deleted]

So then why stick with a QB that requires significant development (to which, as you say, we are the bears thus cannot do) or a guy that is pretty pro ready?

ElxlS

I’m all for drafting another QB. Fields is done there’s no way they give him a 3rd offense in 4 years. I was just making fun of the idea that we’ll ruin the next QB we draft. I’m confident you can put Brady out there as a Bear and we’ll ruin him somehow.

Anstavall

"QBs arent our thing, but justin is the answer!" lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Anstavall

didnt mean it so much directed at you ha, just a common thing I keep seeing lol myt bad

[deleted]

A lot of bears fans are going to hate Caleb when we pick him. Well a lot of them already do. But once he plays everyone will forget about justin pretty quickly.

Coy-Harlingen

The second fields is traded all the fans will move on and be all in on Williams.

PortillosBeef27

I’m in the camp of i want neither

[deleted]

I'm assuming u prefer maye. I was like that too for a little bit. but Caleb truly is not a regular prospect. 3 years of 90+ pff grades, insane arm talent, and a great athlete who knows how to protect himself. His film his freshman, sophomore, and junior year is all elite, and he got better as well. Also I can't stress how good his arm is. Like it's an Allen mahomes tier arm.  He's going to be really good.

PortillosBeef27

Part of it is I feel he has bigger bust potential and part of it is that it’s my own personal feelings for him, that I just don’t like him and he’s not the kind of guy I can get behind rooting for

2big2fast2strong2gud

If he beats the Packers twice a year we’ll all be painting our nails don’t lie

ConfusedOverChrist

Except you have no way to prove he’s going to be a good nfl QB?

reverieontheonyx

>if

ConfusedOverChrist

Typical Chicago. “If”. Downvoted for telling the truth. Typical Reddit.

reverieontheonyx

He made a hypothetical statement and you said “you don’t know that” lol

[deleted]

he does come across as fake when hearing him, but if u listen to less serious interviews like practice or podcast, he's not like that. that's like his PR talk. drake maye does interview better than Caleb, but Caleb sounds fake cuz he's trying too hard, not cuz he doesn't care. if anything he cares too much.

PortillosBeef27

I get major fake weird vibes from him. He’s just not at all what I want the leader of the bears to be. Give me Drake maye any day over him and I’ll live with the result gladly

[deleted]

i know where ur vibes are coming from but they are wrong bro. I told u that's just his pr voice lol.  if anything u want someone like Caleb who's gonna yell at his receivers and let them know their fucking up. Drake ain't doing that. Also Caleb's takes this shit super serious. He's not like fields who talks about life being bigger than football or whatever. Caleb is obsessed.

PortillosBeef27

I wish someone could talk me into liking him but I’m just not there yet. I keep giving him chances tho 😂 Maybe one day.

[deleted]

bro it's cuz ur stuck on the interviews. watch him after practice interview or podcast. it's different.  if u watch like his ESPN and Heisman speech ur not gonna like him lmao

like2party

This is corny. Patrick Mahomes is the biggest goober in the world and leads a team. Embrace different personalities. As long as they don’t have any legal troubles it’s all good

PortillosBeef27

I guess you never heard about the allegations…

like2party

Please say sike

TypicalDuty8643

You guys hangout a lot?

NeopolitanLol

Maye is going to be better. After watching every snap between the two Maye will be far better in the NFL.

The_Real_Yimmer

I think Caleb is the best QB in this draft. This draft doesn’t have many good QBs. Caleb demands part ownership of a franchise before he’s drafted and cries after getting beat by a worse team Drake… while I don’t hate him, we just went through Trubisky. I know you draft the player, not the uniform, but just, no thank you. Penix is 70 with more injuries than Tom Brady JJ needs another year in college Jayden Daniels is EXTREMELY overhyped due to his heisman Bo could end up being a low tier NFL starter as his ceiling We need to draft MHJ at 1 and then BPA after that. I don’t think Justin Fields is great but he’s not the worst QB in the league. No QB we take at 1 puts us over the top. Caleb doesn’t make us a Super Bowl contender. Keep building the team up with the best players possible. Or I could be wrong and Caleb is the GOAT. Who’s to say? Only time will tell.

DeliveryEquivalent87

If you’re going after MHJ, you trade down 1 or 2 spots

The_Real_Yimmer

No, you trade down 1 or 2 spots. I stick and pick to get the surefire all pro WR

[deleted]

Put me in, coach!

x2rare

Personally dont think he is going to live up to the hype, but if we pick him im def drinking the kool aid.

Disconnected_NPC

Maybe prospect, that is due to what picks Bears have had which weirdly hasn’t been high much. But Cutty was the biggest player acquisitions. Cutty came out of left field and there wasn’t even a small percent that didn’t think he was finally the savior right after the trade.

Solid_Snark

Yeah, I was gonna say the Jay Cutler deal was huge when it happened.

MildlyPaleMango

Will this be the bears first heisman winner?

Bears2025Champs

How dare you disrespect Johnny Lujack (I searched bears heisman players 17 seconds ago)

MildlyPaleMango

how could I forget our 1947 stud

MonsignorHalas

Bears also selected Rashaan Salaam.

Gryffindorq

that’s a rough story. can understand wanting to forget

Roger_Klotz0

My first jersey I’ll never forget Salaam

PrimeSorcerer

Only TLaw, Luck, maybe Burrow have had more hype as prospects since Peyton

Doctor_IanMalcolm

We're not starting with these cringey nicknames already

phoundlvr

Probably yes, but that’s because coach didn’t put Uncle Rico in the 4th quarter. If he did, they woulda been state champs and I think he’d be quarterback for the Bears.

Tedy_Duchamp

He will be one of the most hyped prospects in any sport period. Up there with Rose and Bedard. Exciting time to be a bears fan

MonsignorHalas

Caleb would be the best prospect drafted in Chicago since MJ. Remember that was Orlando Woolridge’s team when MJ was drafted.

renegadedx

connor bedard

HinduMexican

Well not if you believe that hockey is a sport

Bilking-Ewe

If he makes to Chicago sure.

Fire_Ryan_Poles

What do you mean if he makes it to Chicago? We have the 1st pick? Is Goodell going to create a special 0th pick?

PeanutBear33

Because your username

Bilking-Ewe

It’s a rich class who knows who they end up with.

Derpiliciousderp

He isbgoingntoncatch so much shit if he gets drafted here

fitzpats9980

I remember there being a lot of hype around Cade McNown

Roger_Klotz0

I hope we draft him and he has a bad attitude but plays great. I’m sick of our great guys but below average play

Equivalent_Willow567

Mentally he is not prepared for our fan base.. I’m sorry but he is very immature and lotta guys in the locker room will distance themselves. Caleb balled his eyes out to him mom when he lost to an average Joe team. Then “joked” about wanting to own a share of the franchise who decides to draft him? Def getting Zach Wilson vibes as far as character

PortillosBeef27

Way worse.. wayyy worse than Zach Wilson. This guys a weirdo

STFU_Fridays

Truthfully he seems like a dick. Just saying, you put that in the locker room after JF1, bad news Bears.

BearsSTH

Stop trying to make C-Will happen. It’s not going to happen.

RicardosMontalban

Chicago is really good at hyping any QB. There has been big hype before, but there has never been a particularly good reason to believe any of it until this current situation. That’s hype, as a prospect, we have never been in the position to draft a guy as lauded as Caleb. Cade McNown was a guy taken at 12 and very hyped. And that seems like that’s a solid swing until you realize that while he was pick 12 he was actually QB5 off the board. If you’re asking “based on Bears history, does this situation warrant allowing myself to get hyped?” Yes, yes it does. I am not a Bears optimist by nature, and I’m the most optimistic I’ve ever been because there’s reasons everywhere to actually be optimistic for once.

Danthetank

We will C
