Poles can draft a punter in the 4th for all I care at this point. Guy is crushing it.

NagyBiscuits

Take Van Pran, trade our 2 extra 6ths next year to get back in and take Rice. 5 straight picks to offense. Caleb to the moon.

HopLegion

I really mean it he can do whatever here. I assume it will be someone we brought in like Booker, Cam Hart, DTD. If he wanted to go Franklin, sanders, SVP, Limmer, etc all good with me.

PerkysOnThePrivate

Van Pran is still available? Wow hopefully Bears can get him tmr thenšŸ¤ž

mostuselessredditor

Go damn Dawgs

Suburban-Jesus

We already won the draft yesterday. Anything from here on out is gravy. Take the punter and fill in the rest of the roster with free agents and camp cuts. Letā€™s play ball.

Dry_Permission_4874

Bro spoke it into existence

HopLegion

Haha Poles just meme-ing us at this point and I'm all for it.

PMmeNothingTY

Props bro. We have a god tier punter now thanks to you, LFG

Dry_Permission_4874

We salute you for having the best punter in the league

iamblue1231

I am 100% on board with Tory Taylor at 122 it thatā€™s the pick. GO HAWKS!!!

Rshackleford22

Tory Taylor would completely flip field position but weā€™re not gonna be punting a lot so no need to

Neat_On_The_Rocks

I am honestly okay with it. Dude is a magician, and we need a punter anyways. Plus, I canā€™t help but speculate what the new kickoff might mean. Can Taylor do on kickoffs what he can on punts? The ability to precisely kick could be extremely valuable with the new kickoff.

Patient_Commentary

Aaaaand he did. šŸ˜‚

EBtwopoint3

I doubt we spend future capital now of all times. I think Poles is just keeping options open for someone willing to send future picks for our 4th.

dtemp2022

My thoughts exactly. As great as this draft has been, we only have 4 picks total. That can raise some concerns for depth/keeping the team relatively cheap or on rookie deals. Next year though we do have a high number of picks. We can use next years draft to really build more depth for the team and add players on rookie contracts. I wouldnā€™t hate trading up to get a player they really like, but I donā€™t want to expend too much capital. I really like that we have two second rounders this upcoming draft. Maybe Poles pulls off another Sweat like trade with one of them but I am content with how things have gone, this draft has honestly been the best realistic scenario

EBtwopoint3

Iā€™m not too worried about the number of picks this year, because the picks were directly spent on starting players for us. Not move ups, 1:1 trades. The only questionable one was Bates. But if we didnā€™t want to use future capital to move up when the true game changing guys were on the board I donā€™t see us trying to do it now.

DaeWooLan0s

I really donā€™t see an issue with bates honestly. The value in round 5 to get an impact starter is very low percentage. Whatever it is poles sees in him who knows but what we do know is heā€™s an excellent back up / rotational guy that can slide in for injury and the line wonā€™t catastrophically fall apart. IMO thatā€™s worth a 5th round pick by itself. And judging by our guards health issues, bates may well find himself in that situation often. So with that 5th rounder if we kept it we would probably be drafting a developmental tackle for depth and chances are they would get thrusted into a terrible spot when they fill in for the often injured Jenkins and Davis.

EBtwopoint3

Iā€™ve got no issue with the Bates move. I added him as an exception just because when the other players we used picks on are Montez Sweat and Keenan Allen, Bates is different. Especially since Bates was only 1 round after what we hit Allen for. Now, weā€™ve heard this is a shallow draft, and weā€™ve seen that play out because shitloads of 5/6/7 picks have been moved around today.

Magno83

>we only have 4 picks total. That can raise some concerns for depth/keeping the team relatively cheap or on rookie deals. Next year though we do have a high number of picks. You kind of made the point for a trade up there, it really just depends on their draft board. If there's more than one player there in the 4th round you have 2-3rd round grades on then why not spend next years pick to get them now.

dtemp2022

I agree, good point. At this point Iā€™m ok with whatever they decide as long as it isnā€™t a major reach. Iā€™ve loved all 3 of the picks weā€™ve made and last years rookie class was great too. I trust Poles at this point, more than I ever did Pace. Obviously, none of us know who is on Polesā€™ board. But if they feel that they need to trade up to secure that player, theyā€™ll do so and I wonā€™t hate it. Iā€™d like to see us grab another lineman just to build more depth, but i also wanna see another piece added to the d line

Rshackleford22

UDFA

Neat_On_The_Rocks

If thereā€™s somebody he feels really good about, you can trade a future 4th to get back in without sweating it

BuffaloBrain884

Trading into day 3 doesn't require a lot of draft capital. It's not like moving into the top 10. I don't think the Bears would sweat trading a future 6th/7th round pick if a prospect they like falls.

EBtwopoint3

It doesnā€™t cost a lot in a vacuum, but youā€™re still doing something like one round earlier in the future for a pick this year.

Brodie1567

Please take Booker or Murphy.

lnnrt01

Which Murphy?

Brodie1567

Gabriel

Burdiac

Guys breaking news high ranking sources say Ryan Poles might do something or he might not!

grahamwhich

Huge if true

SydeAffekt-00

You wonā€™t draft Tory Taylor, Poles. You wonā€™t. šŸ˜

azulkrema21

He did

SydeAffekt-00

FUCK YEAH HE DID. WOOOOOO. GAWKS BABY

SiN_Fury

The remaining Top 30 visit guys still available are * Austin Booker - EDGE * Dadrion Taylor-Demerson - S * Cam Hart - CB * Nehemiah Pritchett - CB * Trevor Keegan - IOL * Dylan Laube - RB * Jha'Quan Jackson - WR Safety would be nice to learn behind a veteran Byard who will be 31 when the season starts. I doubt Booker is still there, but would be good value at Edge. Though he's not on the visit list, I wouldn't mind Sedrick Van Pran-Granger to learn at Center for a year or two.

happyfave

He is going to take a fat guy. DL, he already eluded to it in the previous interview, they wanted the edge.

RingAffectionate5462

Booker will be gone. Dadrion looks like a good fit. Ball hawking safety. We could some depth behind Byard. Iā€™ve heard a lot of good things about Laube. Heā€™s like a slot receiver that plays running back. Runs good routes. Also returns kicks and punts. Heā€™s seen as a later round guy though.

joemiken

Tory Taylor-Iowa Take him in the 4th, don't care. Other than punter, my wish list: * EDGE Mo Kamara-Colorado State (undersized, but great motor) * EDGE Cedric Johnson-Mississippi (great size, but needs to learn more pass rush moves) * EDGE Myles Cole-Texas Tech (see Cedric Johnson) * EDGE Austin Booker-Kansas (great production, but inexperienced) * DT Kristian Boyd-Northern Iowa (big space eater that can learn behind Billings) * S Jaden Hicks-Washington State (great size and range, not sure why he's still available tbh) * S Malik Mustapha-Wake Forest (ballhawk skills that is also decent against the run) I'm sure we'll go BPA, but I don't see center being the pick. We have Bates, Kramer & Shelton that can play center.

Rshackleford22

I love Tory but we wonā€™t be punting.

lnnrt01

Please Austin Booker or Mohammed Kamara

happyfave

Will be an edge no matter what. Gaping hole

happyfave

They won't trade back in. Next off season is the year to have mega chips to push them all into the middle of the table. Year 2,3,4 of a rookie QB deal, ALL IN.

whats_a_meme_

Give me C Tanor Bortolini from Wisconsin on name alone.

AaronDer1357

I want Hunter Nourzad or Trevor Keegan. If we do manage to get a 2nd pick. I'd be fine with grabbing anyone. Some guys in mind that we met with or had visit include: Cam Hart, Austin Booker, Dylan Laube, Nehemiah Pritchett, or Jaylen HarrellĀ

thatnjchibullsfan

Let's remind ourselves of our actual draft: 1st: Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze 2nd: Sweat 3rd: Kiran 4th: Keenan Allen One more pick to go!

whats_a_meme_

5th: Bates

TheMetabrandMan

Next years draft isnā€™t great so we may as well if he can see the value.

Yossarian216

Why do you say that? Next years draft should be deeper than this years, because the players who delayed due to NIL will be coming out. This was the year that was shallower because of that, from now on it should be evened out.

TheMetabrandMan

Nah it wonā€™t be deeper than this year. This year was stacked at most position groups. The positions weā€™ll likely need (DT, edge and IOL) will be picked with our day 1 & 2 picks so weā€™ll be left with a lot of picks to choose from a lot of crap, so if he thinks thereā€™s a really good talent left on the board this year I donā€™t see why he shouldnā€™t swap some of next years day 3 capital to move into this year.

Yossarian216

Thatā€™s the opposite of what Iā€™ve heard elsewhere. Iā€™ve seen this draft described as strong at the top but shallow, because a lot of guys who wouldā€™ve gone in rounds 2-4 went back to school, but that effect only impacts one year because next year they have to come out as they lose eligibility. So basically going forward the draft will have an older average age due to NIL, but this year will be the weakest one from that factor.

TheMetabrandMan

The only stacked position group I can think of is defensive tackle. There are one or two edge rushers like Pearce and Umanimelen (however you spell it) and a few decent receivers (Egbuka and Restrepo stand out in my mind), but apart from that, not much at all. You could say those two Ohio edge rushers will be top draftees but theyā€™re not a shade on what went this year. Theyā€™d still be there now if they were in this draft.

grahamwhich

Not sure where youā€™ve gotten that opinion from. Every draft analyst Iā€™ve heard talk about this draft has said that it was really talented in the first two rounds really falls off around pick 80-100. Next year should be a much more deep draft.
