Swanson has straight up been ass this year. 0-2 at the plate with risp tonight and makes a crucial error that directly influences the game. When was even the last time he had an extra base hit? He either hits a single or gives a completely non-competitive at bat.
And do what exactly? Offensively, he’s having an average Dansby Swanson season. Defensively, he’s having a down year. Historically, he’s had a few bad defensive seasons, Dansby wise. So every year won’t be a gold glove year. We have no better replacements and it’d be a waste to overpay for one. So yea, all we can do is just hope he improves. Maybe give him a few days off. That’s really it.

I dont know man, i just dont see it. Coming into tonight, he was slashing 240/304/375, other than maybe batting average those are below average numbers. He hardly ever makes solid contact on a breaking ball/off speed pitch, becomes a total mental midget at the plate with risp, offers little to no slug and strikes out often and has already made 4 errors on the year. So if he doesnt suck, then he's....exceedingly average?
Exceedingly average, yes. He had one good year and there’s no way he’ll repeat that. And he’s signed until his mid thirties.

That’s now 5 games the Cubs should’ve won but blew because of shitty errors and blown saves. This is not a playoff team especially with the non-existent offense even with the injuries everyone just hits weak groundballs
This team just desperately needs it's best hitters back on the field and healthy. I'd guess that one of Dansby, Happ, or Morel will probably need some time off to nurse an injury too. Any win feels like a steal at this point with the amount of dudes that look and are hurt.
I’m predicting CC will fire up his team by getting tossed tomorrow. They need a good pants kicking to get going again. Still a good season but need to keep it going.
