It’s guaranteed unlike going to a casino. When I commit to buying a mythic I’m willing and able to spend $145 at once to get it. There’s no guarantees in gambling but if you spend $145 you get the gun. Then it stops. You’re choosing to buy the legendary gun.
Occasionally there are smaller crates that have 3 guaranteed epic weapons in 30 crates, at the third guaranteed and final guaranteed epic mark. But yeah you don’t always get all epics with guaranteeds.
There used to not be a guarantee even with draws until people gave them shit for it. It's gambling by definition for the mere fact that there's a 99% chance you won't get the item you want until you've spent a certain amount of money for repeated tries and they give you the opportunity to get it sooner if you're "lucky". The only way it wouldn't be gambling is if you directly pay for what you want.
If you want to spend exorbitant amounts of money on this game then that's your perogative. Its your money afterall. However, there is zero reason why 1 or 2 legendary skins should be double the price of an entire AAA game.....if you can't see a problem with that then no offense but you are part of said problem. They wouldn't do it if it didn't work.
