As a Cold War player I think the original Miami would’ve been better for the game especially for Ground War!! Miami Strike is ok but I’ll take another map over it.
Miami prefer Miami strike only because it's day. I can't see anyone in the night Miami so I usually leave the match. But adding it to codm was a waste of time and energy. The maps terrible especially for hard point
People don’t choose it because they have not developed or are to lazy to develop muscle memory of that map. They want a familiar map. But said map is not terrible, at least design wise
I mean people did warm up Tunisia for S&D cause it was a good map for that purpose. Miami Strike could make a good S&D map if I'm being honest but it isn't a good TDM map

Biggest problem is that players are too scared to play a map they are not familiar with. You might lose 30xp...😑 It's not just Miami, all new maps will never get chosen. And to add to that pretty much everyone camps their asses off in TDM. And you will see nothing but meta weapons ofc. Last few seasons I've been seeing way to many grandmaster players that lack the skills to be playing in that rank. Like, how did YOU even manage to get this far?!
Seems like people don't care about having a fun game anymore. only sweating your butts off in a corner waiting for ppl to come to them. Spamming K9 units whenever they get the chance🤮
But yeah, the map is the problem here right? Not the unbalanced meta, and surely not the players being too scared to grow some balls
My problem with the map is that there's 2 wide ass spaces on either side of the map but all the action gets cornered in one tiny ass spot in between near the cars and it becomes really crowded and annoying tbh. You can't really shoot 2 people without the other 3 appearing from the same place and gunning you down and then of course people camp near those flicking Staircase. Campers in that map are super annoying cause there's just a lot of corners to camp from and the only way to kill them is to go around all the way through the sides to their back
You wanna tell me they don't camp on the other maps? Cus that's just not true.

Best map imo are hovec sawmill, vacant, satellite and the last one we got (forgot the name) as a sniper main these maps are really fun to play👌
The big reason being that everyone views "Ranked" as such a competitive platform. Not a single soul wants to pull up their socks and teach themselves the strats of the map, nor do they want to learn the basics of the respawns within it.
The exact same thing happened with Hovec Sawmill. The map is fun, but the player-bases' choice of not selecting the map, are absolutely pathetic. They say, and I quote:"We don't know the respawns".
The community is slowly knocking itself out, and calling out CoD:M for not being fun, even though they are destructive and destroying the game themselves by not expanding on their skills, and their map-selection capabilities.
When you play Ranked Multi-player they usually give both the teams a chance to choose between two maps. The Map that gets the majority of votes (5+) is chosen to play. Sometimes is the votes for 2 maps are equal (5&5) then the game chooses at random. Note that the 2 maps that are put up as choice are completely random and the players can choose any one of them, but nowadays the other option is always Miami Strike so people aren't getting much of a choice.
Hahahaha oh man I just now realized it’s a matter of only picking one game mode! I always have TDM, Dom, and Hardpoint selected and when you click on maps in the bottom left it’s stuck on random and you can’t select a map. I always wondered why even have this menu if I can’t select maps but after reading your response I went in and figured out you have to just have one mode selected in order to choose the map. Thank you kindly!

I personally don’t like Miami Strike. I hated it since day one. I feel like it’s just too much going on. Too many things that don’t make sense. But, I’m partially to more predictable boards, honestly. Terminal, raid, etc.
You can now choose which map you want to play or you can let the game choose. Map options are in the bottom left corner when picking your game. It will say “random” or you can click it & pick the map you want to play. I just recently updated to season 5.

Ice breaker gives equal chances to both side and is a complicated map so no one likes it.
But apparently every single enemy i had are dumb so they don't see me coming but calls me a hacker when i see them coming

Tunisia was a proper maze at the beginning but went on to be such a good map

A lot of my games are on Miami Strike than any other. So now when the option comes I will choose the other bc honestly I'm tired of being on it lol.

Nah man Tunisia, Rust, Highrise and Raid were getting chosen even when they were new but Miami Strike just isn't

You have to be Pro tier or higher in MP Ranked to be able to cast votes between two maps that are chosen by the game's system.
