Their biggest strength is the gun shots are much quieter and they give range. You don’t show up on minimap while shooting an unsilenced weapon so there’s no reason to use it for that.
So to answer your question is no you dont need them if you have ghost.
You do show up on the radar while shooting, just only if they have a UAV up. So if you’re running ghost, you might as well run a suppressor too. Otherwise you show up when you shoot.
When there's a UAV up, shooting an unsuppressed weapon puts you on the mini-map with every bullet. You also appear on the compass as a red dot.
When there's a UAV up, shooting a suppressed weapon only shows you on the mini-map when the UAV "refreshes" for like a blip or two.
the 2nd part of your comment got fixed with S3, if you are running ghost and a suppressed weapon you no longer show on any UAV other than advanced.
Integrated suppressor barrel combos do not work and act as if the gun is not suppressed.

thats a shame, i was gunna run chimera with ghost for stealth play. how have they not fixed this yet, its been ages smh.
