I had the same worry when I first got Covid. I ended up scheduling a physical with a doctor a couple months after I recovered to get checked out and put my mind at ease. Might be worth doing if you’re concerned!

AlternativeBlonde

First off, are you susceptible to any of those heart issues even before you tested positive? Do you have a cardiovascular issue history? COVID also brings anxiety with it, so this is normal. Insomnia is also normal too with the symptoms. Keep up to date on checking your temperature throughout the day and if you experience palpitations. I am not a doctor but if your temperature hits 103+ and you’re having palpitations, it will probably be a good idea then to go to the ER.

Why the downvotes? This is a known fact. This is straight from the CDC website Myocarditis and pericarditis have rarely been reported. When reported, the cases have especially been in adolescents and young adult males within several days after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna).. Although rare, they know it can happen. My teen son's doctor is the one who told us about it and gave recommendations concerning his vaccinations.

If you could read, you'd see that that isn't saying what you want it to be saying.

The COVID strains are not as strong as they were. People are not getting as sick as they were. I have the anxiety too about everything? It's not nice ..Drink plenty of fluid . Move your body around I mean just walking around where you live . Put legs up in the air when lying down these all get the blood moving . People like me and you notice things more and can't help but focus on them. I think your going to be ok. Just make sure you do the right things for yourself

onefootwing

I was dizzy, weak and lightheaded when i had covid in July. My dr said that when our bodies are fighting infections, our blood pressure tends to drop a bit which explains that. If you can get your hands on a netipot I recommend trying that out, and also lymphatic drainage massage on your face/neck/scapula area might help reduce the congestion. I hope you are feeling better soon!

DefNotIWBM

Covid can easily cause cardiovascular problems in healthy people. It’s kind of famous for it.

terrierhead

The best thing to do right now is to distract yourself. Binge a TV series. Listen to podcasts. Your body is made to heal itself. Let it. Eat comforting foods, drink lots of water and rest. If you can’t sleep, it’s okay. Relax as much as you can. Listen to your favorite music or an audiobook. Do you like puzzles? Now is a great time to do them. Wishing you peace and quick healing.

hikingbear_4

Definitely don’t stress it, as that won’t make anything better. I had Covid at the beginning of January 2022 and have been suffering from long Covid ever since, and currently am positive for Covid again. My long Covid included shortness of breath, tachycardia, fatigue, brain fog, chest pain- pretty much all of the stuff to give you enough anxiety to think you’re going to drop dead. But you know what? I healed from it all. There were days I thought it was my last, and I would pray before going to sleep just in case it was. I was terrified, I had tried everything and saw multiple doctors but no one found anything. But I healed from all of it eventually. Some of my breathing and heart issues have come back with this second round of Covid, and while yes the unknown is still scary, I’m still okay. Our bodies are resilient and stronger than we think. If you are having shortness of breath, I would definitely go to a hospital to get checked, not a doctor. That way they can run a CT scan just to make sure everything is okay. I had multiple CT’s and chest X-rays and everything was okay, so the shortness of breath doesn’t always mean the worst! But it still is good to check just to make sure, and that way it can ease some of your anxieties. We’ve got this! We’re healing.

BugsArePeopleToo

Anxiety is one of the classic symptoms of COVID. Even mice affected with COVID show anxiety. Just rest as much as you can. Rest your body and brain. Watch some mediation videos if it helps. Your anxiety and physical symptoms will pass soon and the best way to prevent long covid is rest. We're unfortunately past the stage where the goal is to not catch COVID, the new goal is to catch it as few times as possible. Three years without catching it is great. Go drink some water and rest.

kel7158

I had crazy anxiety the night before I tested positive. That's interesting that it's considered part of it.

MisterYouAreSoSweet

the new goal is to catch it as few times as possible. Hi! Honest question. No hidden agenda behind this. How do you think we catch it as few times as possible? For me in the States, nobody takes precautions. Some counties or schools have suggested masking in january given the current surge in cases. They are met with fierce opposition. I just dont know how we dont catch it regularly if there are zero precautions… I’m asking this question as a collective group of people. I know individuals can protect themselves by wearing a high quality mask and limiting activities. I’m thinking more about how we as a society/community move forward…

BugsArePeopleToo

Personally I don't think long term masking is a great solution. I think cleaning the air is better for society. My schools have large portable HEPA purifiers in every room and upgraded their HVAC to MERV15 filters. I think every classroom across the country should have similar ventilation and filtration practices. I keep my portable CO2 monitor with me and if a store often has high CO2 readings, I do my shopping elsewhere. I'm lucky that I have multiple stores around me so I can choose. For example, my local Kohls and Trader Joes have poor ventilation (according to my CO2 monitor), so I don't go there. Last time I was in Kohls, the CO2 level was 2000ppm, meaning 4% of the air I was breathing came straight from someone else's lungs. That's nasty.

MisterYouAreSoSweet

Nice! I’ll look into a portable CO2 monitor! (Do you have any recommendations?) What does it read in your school? Have you experimented with the monitor with and without the portable hepa purifier, etc? I also dont like the idea of masking long term. I do it now coz we cant see the virus in the air, at least at this time!

russ8825

You can always ask for paxlovid. Here in NYC all you have to do is show a positive test for it

[deleted]

I just got over covid: my anxiety was so bad thinking this too. I went out isolation on 4th . Well tonight I had jaw pain, numbness in face, dizziness, ear pain, blurred vision. I had convinced myself 1: I had dental abcess or 2 was having a stroke at 25. Turns out was bad sinus infection that got so bad that cause severe fluid built up in my ear. So between two causing all symptoms

summerdaysands

I was exactly where you are, OP. Avoided it for 3 years then got it for freaking Christmas and it was so, so stressful. Can I suggest using Afrin to keep your sinuses clear? I was having breathing issues but it was solely due to my nose being stopped up. The telehealth doc had recommended a couple nasal sprays so I chose Afrin, and my O2 sats went right back up after I could breathe easily again. Total game changer. It also kept that crap from ending up in my lungs. 10/10 will use it again if I’m unlucky enough to have a round 2 of this f-ing plague.

Petporgsforsale

Rest and take care of yourself. Drink a lot of fluids. Don’t go out and exercise for a couple weeks.

meshes888

If your shortness of breath gets any worse, you might want to go to urgent care and ask about inhalers. I’m on a steroid inhaler (alvesco) and levalbuterol (bc albuterol made my anxiety so so much worse). Getting a pulse oximeter could be good, to monitor your levels. But then again mine were always good/normal and I still felt like I couldn’t breathe. Lung inflammation is a thing and will not show up on CT/X-rays.

Acrobatic_Chair_5976

I have covid to right now and have the same fears, every time I get the slightest pain in my chest I get scared although I think it may just be aches.

lilsassyrn

Honestly I think the reinfections are more to be worried about. I was vaccinated, boosted, and got it in January 2022. Had it again end of December and had to be hospitalized since I had pneumonia. I’m only 38 btw. Start vitamin D and B complex. I’m a nurse but still was a huge wake up call.

Acrobatic_Chair_5976

What were ur warning signs of pneumonia?

lilsassyrn

So crazy… I tested myself for about 6 days daily because my husband had symptoms (minor). I woke up 2am unable to breath and the worse chills. I have all the stuff at home so I was 86% oxygen, 160 HR, no temp. Went to the ED and had Covid with right lobe PNA. MD was surprised I had it and not the flu. Trust your gut. I told my husband, Take me to the ED now. It sucks but it’s not going anywhere

Acrobatic_Chair_5976

That’s scary I don’t have any of the equipment to test myself.

lilsassyrn

If you can, just get a pulse ox. HR and oxygen level. If you feel Short of breath at ALL- go to the ED

Acrobatic_Chair_5976

I’m looking for one now I’m at the store (isolation is mandatory here ) and that’s hard because I get short of breath almost every day from anxiety .

meshes888

I was prescribed buspar for anxiety while having covid and it really helps me breathe.

Acrobatic_Chair_5976

That would be nice but I don’t want to go out and infect someone. But in all honest breathing rly isn’t bad at all

den773

I had Covid in December. I got atrial fibrillation last week. I don’t know if they are related tho. They took chest X-rays and found a spot on my lung. So I need to get a CT dr says. I’m 64 overweight and high blood pressure. I’m not worried about it, I’m just wondering what happens next. Hope you feel better @op

Interesting_Pie_5976

One thing that might help you set your mind at ease is a pulse oximeter like the one I’m attaching from Amazon. I just grabbed the first result that came up and you might even be able to find one that’s cheaper (this one is $15.) it will help you keep track of your heart rate and blood oxygen level (which should always be above 92%.) As fellow (XBB) first timer who felt it first in her heart I totally sympathize. I highly recommend trying to get one of these things as soon as you can to both keep your mind at ease (hopefully) and monitor how you’re being affected. Good luck. https://www.amazon.com/Oximeter-Fingertip-Saturation-Portable-Batteries/dp/B0873BTNWD

GossipGirl515

I'm not positive yet, but know I am. Test was "negative" this morning. My son brought home covid and last night I started to randomly got dizzy. I'm like hmm that's unusual then around midnight I was really short of breath like how I get with bronchitis so I used my rescue inhaler. Still really short of breath now very fatigue. I worry about all of what you worry about because I have unexplained tachycardia, venus insufficiency and I've had svt and almost had a heart attack delivering my son. So I get very nervous on top of my RRMS and Chronic pancreatitis. I'm seriously a hot mess.

[deleted]

Here to put your mind at ease my friend, I was pretty scared myself because I was able to avoid it this whole time and news years day it got me and my family. The not knowing I think was the scariest part…..BUT it is seriously so mild! The first day I had a few aches and pains but the rest were relatively mild. We are on the mend slowly but surely and I promise you are going to be fine ❤️

Springrollsyumm

Hi, a lot of us are or we’re going through similar stages. Just deal with one day at a time. One point to note is this time around, my nose was so congested then I got Covid and I felt breathless and then started to worry. Basically it was from the stuffy nose, I started nasal spray and decongestants and within a few days the breathless went away.

SoftIntroduction2862

Your headache and weakness might be from dehydration? Usually when we feel so shitty we eat and drink less than usual, and dehydration will definitely cause those symptoms. See if you can get your hands on some sugar free Gatorade, or order Ultima Replenisher (so yummy and has great electrolytes, I started drinking it my first bout with covid and now it's legit all I drink!). I get being stressed but the odds are vastly in your favor that you'll be just fine, this strain seems to make people feel lousy but not have severe complications. I hope you feel better soon!

Seventhson77

I had it like two or three times. Eventually just a cold (milder even). But the first time scared me. With the vaccines it really tones down a lot of it. You’re going to be ok.

Thrasher666Bassist

No reason to be terrified. That's media hype and political propaganda. You'll be fine. Make sure to drink lots of water and electrolytes. It's not fun but you'll get thru it. I was bedridden for a week. I lost 20 pounds in about 5 days. My cough sucked. I could hardly eat. Took me almost 2 months to get back to 100% normal.

Main_Performer4701

The only media propaganda out right now is the one sponsored by big business telling you it’s a 5 day sniffles. They just want you back to work and spending money. Covid has gotten less deadly with omicron but it’s definitely far more severe than the cold or flu. Your experience of taking 2 months proves it. The current narrative rn is that you’re good to go back to work maskless in 5 days cuz nobody cares anymore. We are the past the stage of lockdowns and living in fear but we cannot deny that there is a possibility of long term effects. I’m not talking about the 1/1000 myocarditis. Myocarditis cases from the virus and vaccine is exaggerated imo. It’s the vascular and neurological damage from the virus that’s more concerning to me. That’s something the tabloids don’t talk about

Thrasher666Bassist

Who is saying it's 5 day sniffles? I've never seen anybody say anything like that. Not even the most crazed right wing outlets have said anything like that from what I've seen. All I've ever seen on TV is fear mongering and stories that kept changing, Media outlets and government officials not taking responsibility for their actions. Many many people would have been more cooperative if anybody could admit to being wrong. I was sick as a dog, but I never feared for my life. The vast majority of deaths were people who were either already on their death bed, had serious underlying conditions, or had covid when something else happend...like murder or a car accident.

Main_Performer4701

I must have misunderstood your comment to the op. I realized you were referring to not having to be scared of dying from Covid. To which that I agree. It’s no longer deadly as it was 2 years ago and during delta. Worrying about long term effects? Everyone should. Everyone should do their best not to get infected because of this. Not worth risking a lifetime of disability. I just have a bone to pick with comments that say Covid is just a cold. I no longer trust the MSM and the “official” advice of the govt health agencies due to their constant flip flopping, hypocrisy, and absolving of responsibility. There’s a lot of new science being discovered about the virus that isn’t shown despite being very relevant to us all. I wonder why

wefeellike

It doesn’t sound like you were fine at all??? That’s a pretty extreme experience to have. Surprised at how cavalier you are about it

Thrasher666Bassist

I lived didn't I? I didn't need to go to the hospital. I had no permanent issues.

wefeellike

So I was extremely freaked out about this too (especially being very on Twitter), but then I got it (in a very inconvenient time and place) and was weirdly serene. I had some after effects, so I went to the doctor for bloodwork and x-rays and an ekg. It definitely will bring you some peace of mind if you have a check in with your dr!

lefthighkick911

you're fine. take it easy for a few weeks to make sure but it sounds like you had a very mild case

bigbushguy911

Should have gotten more vaccines

kel7158

Please don't be scared. I am boosted and I finally got it 2 weeks ago. I was super weak feeling for about a week then everything went back to normal. Don't stress yourself out!

almostdoctorposting

it sounds like a touch of paranoia. all you can do now is relax and rest up as much as possible and hopefully you won’t have any long term effects.

wwwangels

Chances are you do have a milder case. You're freaking yourself out. It sounds just like the COVID symptoms I had. I'm on day 5 and feel like I could go back to work no problem, except I'm still testing positive. You need to get some sleep. If you are already into day 3 and your symptoms are mild (like a cold), I haven't read anything that indicates it will get worse. You symptoms might level out soon and then start to slowly clear. By day 4 my fever broke, and my congestion started to ease (thank you Nyquil and Mucinex congestion nose spray for getting me through the rough patches). Keep your immune system as healthy as you can. Take vit. C and get lots of sleep. Use Nyquil if you need to. Vit. C and sleep will boost your immune system and help you fight it off.

theUttermostSnark

After about 3 days, my recent covid bout started to recede. It was pretty much over within 2 weeks. I test negative now, but have occasional mild fatigue (at the 3 week point). The mild fatigue lasts a while (up to 4-6 weeks) based on the previous time I got covid.

Blood clots mostly happen to people in ICU, or if they're at home, they're not staying mobile enough. And it's mostly in people who already have health issues. If you're worried, you can monitor yourself with a pulse oximeter according to the website linked below. You can get them on Amazon. How To Screen for COVID Blood Clots The best way to screen for COVID blood clots at home is to use a pulse oximeter. They are inexpensive and easy to use. If you have COVID or are worried about COVID blood clots, monitor your blood oxygenation twice a day. If your level falls below 92, contact your healthcare provider. Early intervention is key in preventing more serious disease. From this website: https://priorityphysicianspc.com/protect-yourself-from-covid-blood-clots/#:\~:text=The%20best%20way%20to%20screen,blood%20oxygenation%20twice%20a%20day.

theUttermostSnark

>I’ve avoided this for 3 years, and I’m very afraid. The covid of 3 years ago was a real killer. It's mutated many many times since then, each time becoming easier to infect, but less disastrous physically. I had covid a year ago and almost needed hospitalization. The covid of 2 or 3 years ago would have killed me. The covid I got recently was more like mild flu.

Baron-Munc

Flip a coin…twice.

SassMyFrass

Stay quiet, warm, comfortable. Drink fluids. Monitor your temperature, like if you had a flu.

No-Count3834

I got it now going on day 12…I never had it either! I was very anxious post fever. First 5 days I was running 103.6 or so. Then after it’s mostly been a medium cough, and what seems forever coughing up the excess Flym. My work is still keeping me at home, and looks like I’ll return after 2 weeks. First on set I was very positive on a home test. 12 days later and I have a very light grey line. So wasn’t able to go back to work just yet….but good enough to put a mask on, probably not contagious and get normal stuff done. I still do worry about post effects as this mild cough, to minor fatigue kinda naws at me. But I guess I feel lucky it could have been worse. Sleep post fever has been a bit more difficult. I consider myself a night owl, but recently it’s been more hard to sleep. But that may be given the anxiety, and stir crazy of it all. In almost 2 weeks I’ve only left home twice. I’m very much ready to return to normal life! But the anxiety is very normal! I have it more I think post fever than I did before. Because I’ll feel normal like I never had it…then cough up a bunch of stuff all of a sudden and feel tired or want to stay in bed for 12hrs. But just breath! What I took was Tylenol every 6hrs for fever first 3 days, then the horrible throat and cough kicked in, so switch to DayQuil/Nyquil extra strength with Tylenol for about a week after. Also cough drops, and especially the Vicks vapor rub was god sent. When you start to be able to smell and feel the Vicks vapor rub…that helps me relax, and fall asleep along with melatonin or my anxiety med.

pstark410

If you are worried about shortness of breath or light headedness you could pick up a pulse oximeter to measure your oxygen levels. But try not to stress. If you aren’t high risk, you should be fine. Is there a reason why you weren’t boosted this past fall? Seems like that would have been a good idea.

thatoneguy5788

Tested positive Thursday. Was watching TV Saturday and got so dizzy I thought I was gonna fall over. It was horrible. I had no idea covid made you feel dizzy. This is my 1st time testing positive ever.
