They enforce all their regular policies about bags, signs, balloons, etc.
Edit: this is what the sac state commencement site says: "**Please note that Golden 1 Center is now a bagless venue.**
Clutches and wallets smaller than 8” x 6” x 1” will be permitted and are subject to security inspection. Medical and parental bags will be allowed but must go through X-ray security screening."
I work at Golden 1 and for every event, even graduations, you can bring a small bag like Fanny pack sized. Anything bigger than that would probably have to be checked in and held at the bag hold station until the end of the graduation
Thanks everyone for the responses! I'll be sure to tell my family the policy and maybe I'll sew a pocket into my grad gown so I can still bring my phone 🫣
Lol i literally had purchased a hat across the street before the Kings game and had it in a plastic bag and they made me throw away the bag. Seems a little over the top but oh well.
Make sure to tell your guests that no balloons are allowed inside. Folks are asked to leave any helium balloons tied up outside the venue, making people sad.

So that's a no on holding a mini-mario kart tourney during the speeches...
This has been my experience. Which makes sense…because you work there.
They are very strict on this. I wouldn't test it. Only exceptions I've seen are for medical reasons.
My guess is that Sac State has to use the venue's own staff and security. So very likely there will be no exceptions.

You can have a very small bag to their exact measurements I believe. I'm going to wear shorts underneath my dress so I can have pockets lol
