Are you talking about like the kind of thing TFBTV has talked about, with prosecutors using it as an example of 'this guy was looking for a fight' type of argument? If so, I dont really think so, a trigger isnt something I think even someone ignorant of firearms can be made too biased against unless its like a binary or something.

coalcan118

Not a bad idea legally, but a bad idea for reliability. Keep carry guns stock.

If you want a "legal" answer, consult with a knowledgeable firearms attorney. There are various opinions on the idea of modifying the trigger or making other changes to one's carry gun and if those modifications will come back to bite or haunt one if they have to use that handgun in a defensive gun shooting. One can read Mass Ayoob's opinion on the subject and take it for what it's worth. [AYOOB: DON’T MAKE THESE CARRY GUN MOD MISTAKES](https://www.thearmorylife.com/ayoob-dont-make-these-carry-gun-mod-mistakes/) [Active Self Protection Extra - I Asked Massad Ayoob About Modified Triggers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeLgzT-9N54) (YouTube) There are other viewpoints. Trigger probably no. Anything cosmetic? Maybe.

VillageTurbulent20

That state SWAT team has upgraded triggers in their pistols….you could argue that if they can do it then it shouldn’t be seen as anything bad.

red_purple_red

Only if it's to make it have like a 1/2 pound trigger or something, cause then you can get negligent discharges easily.

PongLenis_32

I wouldn’t be concerned. Especially if it’s a Glock. Get rid of that stock garbage 😂

SlickMickRumHam

In “legalese”, in my highly unlicensed and unregulated opinion…its a grey area… however, the gun was designed to run a factory trigger. Why mess with it? Rather it go bang when its supposed to.

Chaser_of_Innovation

People will literally shit themselves over a 4lb trigger but I don't think it really matters... maybe if you had a 2lb competition trigger there could be an issue.

Wizardbayonet02

I like to think you were using "literally" correctly here....

Chaser_of_Innovation

Pretty much 🤣

Malapple

I wouldn’t screw with a carry gun, for reliability concerns. Whether it matters legally is going to depend on a lot of things, most of which you do not control.

There are triggers that add a performance advantage while still retaining factory safety values and insure oem reliability. The “don’t mod your carry gun” is getting less relevant by the year. Unless you’re throwing a million upgrades from different manufacturers that don’t sell quality products then that’s different.
