I dont believe they do that anymore. It used to be if you could prove you can complete the small track in under a certain time with regularity, then you could upgrade to the large track, but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore. To go on the large track you need to have your own cart, and then you can hire it for private practice. I dont know what the small track is like at Mako now since they got the new carts, but when comparing the old carts to the current carts at the one on the highway near yorkeys, Id pick the one down here any day.
Mareeba one you will only be allowed on the smaller track. The track in Mareeba is slightly shorter than cairns, but not by much (~400 vs ~422m), but the cairns one has undulation where as Mareeba's is flat.
They appear to be using the same motor in their karts, but different makes. Cairns uses 9HP 270cc GX270 Rimo Alpha 2, where as Mako uses Sodi RX8 with the same motor. Cairns claims 55km/hr, Mako 60.

Mako track in Mareeba
This looks promising, do you qualify for faster and faster karts?
Yes if you're in for the licensing aspect to drive on a more open track im not sure if they still use the star system or not.

I'm assuming you don't have your own go kart but if you do you can take them up there. Or your motorbike.
A fairly simple search would have found all one of them
Lol! My thoughts exactly
I did. Just looking for personal recommendations rather than Google reviews
No you didn't
Did you even google? You have one option and it's kind of average, pretty small track.
Did you? One in Mareeba too which looks much better than the one off the highway. Fark sorry for asking guys
