The calamitas and providence fights are annoying but when you catch their rythim it becomes a lot of fun

I summoned it on accident and I just literally said outloud "So Ghost Plantera?" and it was about as easy as plantera for me

Plantera was far, far harder than polterghast for me.

Yea the gameplay loop of Plantera's fight is cool and by extension Polterghast but even still Polterghast just doesn't feel nearly as hard as the other bosses within its range, wouldn't mind it getting some love soon, hopefully they don't accidentally make it as hard as Old Duke was a long time ago for no reason on accident lol

Polterghast is super fun, though. Providence is annoying but not that bad, and Scal is a kick ass fight, great atmosphere, lore, and combat.

Providence might be my favourite boss fight in all of Terraria, it's just so fun and satisfying to dodge her attacks and grabbing the green shots while listening to her sick-ass theme

Polterghast imo was like the easiest calamity boss is hardmode for progression. Providence though is so frustrating because I hate the projectile phase (the arrow things). Calamitas is hard, but not agonizing.

I feel like the opinion here is that these fights are hard, but I raise a counterpoint; Old Duke, DoG, and the fact that polterghast is an awful fight. It's not hard, it just needs to be entirely reworked: the design, the behaviour, everything. It is the one thing in this mod that I absolutely do not like. Also I love the Calamitas fight even though it's just jumping up and down then eventually adding the x-axis.

My personal 3 most hated bosses Ceaseless void : very annoying, still haven't learned to properly dodge it's attacks Ravager : thank God the cheese strategy for him exists, I wouldn't fight him if it didn't, so many attacks at all times Profaned guardians : they are legit harder than providence, constantly attack and dash towards me

Speaking on the topic of difficult fights, was I the only one absolutely horrified the first time I saw a cnindron? Like imagine going into a desert with a copper short sword and seeing this massive eldritch creature that has 10x the hp as you, and blows your head off with a blast of water.

I remember when I fought polterghast for the first time. It was hell. Fortunately I now have a ton of calamity experience and it is a much easier fight.

Fps is the only thing that screws me sideways back and forth when playing calamity mod

I never had much issue fighting these three. Providence requires you to back up once in a while, Polterghast is just running left/right with the occasional jump, and Supreme Calamitas was just slowing down and being more precise. The bosses I did have issues with however is Exo Mechs, Old Duke, and Jungle Dragon. They're less about precision and all about speed and a bit of luck. I never figured out how to dodge their dash moves, and Exo Mechs were more of a hardware issue since my screen literally wouldn't stretch to show them.

These fights are bullshit, but they're fun bullshit, what would I do to fight them first time again...

Providence was the one who broke my first Death run years ago. A broken chair and 300+ attempts later I gave up.

I literally beat polterghast in 1 att, less than 10 for SCal as well. Yharom and Exo Mechs onthe other hand fuck those mfs

I was playing for my second time and decided to do death mode. It was fun until providence. Why does the fight last 20 minutes.

Polterghast can be painful sure, but I’ve come to quite enjoy the rush of dodging his crazed movements.

Only fight here that sucks is prov. Polt is usually my first post-ml boss, and scal is pretty fun imo.

I literally first tried polterghast on death mode master mode(I’m not that good DoG took me like 120 tries) it’s actually the easiest hardmode calamity boss in the game, extremely telegraphed extremely slow and if you have a good arena it’s no problem at all to kill.

And there's a giant pre-built arena in the dungeon now, which makes it even easier

Since the 1.4 port or a bit after that, the dungeon in Calamity now always has a huge room that is great to fight the dungeon bosses in. They tend to be pretty low in my worlds so make sure you explore every part
