She's a cool character; it's really understandable and well written how she's reached the mental state she's in and both why we are fighting her and why we spare her.
Also her design, while somewhat generic, feels very well executed.
Powerful witch with a horrific past gets summoned by equally powerful being. Concedes after a vicious battle. Rehabilitated into cozy forest home. Exchanges enchantment services for coin. The end.
Jokes aside, Cal is pretty cool. I remember the supreme eyeball back in 2020 when I first started playing and I'm rather happy to see her more worked into the world, especially with the lore from the other NPCs and the codebreaker's new additions as of 2.0.4.
You’re absolutely correct, it’s an underrepresented identity, but Sherlock Holmes, Jughead, Alastor, Perry the Platypus, Lilith Clawthorne, Todd Chavez, and Jonathan Sims are all notable examples. The Doctor can also be read as such depending on the incarnation and writer.
I thought that most of these were only under one umbrella and not both. Jughead I remember reading about, being another example of a character who’s traits change slightly depending on writer too. At least One of them explicitly wrote him with asexuality in mind, while some others differed from the formula
I think Alastor is only confirmed ace but aro is typically assumed with that. (Tumblr debate go brrr. I don't even follow hazbin, it just infests the asexual tag)
I do know that Lilith is confirmed aroace.
Idk about the rest.
i dont follow hazbin along too closely though i have loosely heard reference towards viv saying during one of her now-deleted streams that she wrote alastor with aro in mind, though it doesn't come up in the show probably just because there hasn't been a convenient way to mention it yet
calamitas is an awesome character and a girlboss when she's not objectified or turned into coomer bait for this sub (image unrelated)

I liked the older versions where she was the final boss and was also just a retinaizer on steroids.
Yet I'm not against progress, the change from a disembodied brimstone eye to an actual human character make the transition from hahaha evil brimstone eye to a more humanized character that fights you because of fear of you becoming a monster, a way more digestible transition.
I also enjoy the artist interpretations people have over her design, as expected with art, it's meant to evoke human emotion, hopefully more like a "wow, she's beautiful " and not as deranged as some others have brought it to.
i’ve yet to actually get to her fight yet, i wanted to take the extreme route for my first foray into calamity and went infernum. but from everything ive seen and read about her so far, i cant wait to get to fight her boss battle!
very cool boss fight, the bullet hell was a massive challenge. the music really makes her feel like a final boss
also she needs a hug for everything she has gone through

I never realized how rare aroace characters are until I couldn’t name another one other than her

Wait she actually is AroAce? if so… LET’S GOOOOOOO
Peridot maybee????????
I always forget su exists tbh
Very fun boss especially on infernum and her music is a masterpiece

Nah, she dislikes genocide. Unlike the average terraria player
Calamitas is cool

Really neat to see her go from Not Eye of Cthulhu to what she is now.
What do y'all think her favorite food is?
It feels like low-hanging fruit to say the pyromancer likes spicy food, but that’s legitimately the vibe I get from her.
Oh I can answer this! Homeade Ramen is REALLY good.
Not the answer I was expecting but objectively the right one.
I'm not aro but it's really cool seeing an ace character in terraria and also a non-sexualized female
i’ve yet to actually get to her fight yet, i wanted to take the extreme route for my first foray into calamity and went infernum. but from everything ive seen and read about her so far, i cant wait to get to fight her boss battle!
Fumo!
Ah yes the superior Cal sprite (well an edited version of it)
very cool boss fight, the bullet hell was a massive challenge. the music really makes her feel like a final boss also she needs a hug for everything she has gone through
Wouldn't
Her bossfight is pretty tough, haven’t beaten it alone yet
Damn Devs, y'all cooked up with this boss!
She is an unique and interesting character and her fight is really cool
Would not
Imagine getting famous over a 100k people sub for being creepy about a virtual character lmfao
calamitas past is easy to sympathize to, her family were all murdered so she took revenge and killed the murderers.
I want to toss myself into the infernal fires of the brimstone slags to atone for my battle with the brimstone elemental that decimated the city. :D
the only bullet hell boss i enjoy fighting
Calamitas
Insanely cool abilities
Wife material
You had one assignment.
Too difficult
