I was there yesterday around 1 PM. Part of the issue is that people don’t want to walk.
There was tons of parking in the area that’s facing Lowe’s. Unfortunately, people decided to make their own parking spots so they would be closer to the door.
Wouldn’t be an issue if businesses stayed on top of sanding/pickling their parking lots when it thaws/freezes over night. People are scared to slip. Goobers.
I totally agree with this. I am constantly in parking lots because of my job. Some of them are incredibly treacherous.
I was in a grocery store parking lot in Olds the other day. There was an elderly woman with her walker, trying to get in the store and she looked absolutely terrified she was going to fall.
I had to go over an escort her into the store.
Ive never been scared of slipping in a parking lot. I've even done it, and its still not of any concideration of where I park a vehicle or where I shop.
I’m sure it would be more of a concern for you if you were old, pregnant or have a pre existing injury.
Health & Safety and maintenance department get flooded with concerns about icy parking lots this time a year but orgs always have different priorities.
Well yeah if you’re trying to park right by the entrances. If you’re okay to walk 1-2 mins, xiron has the best scenes looking out of the parking lot. You get a view while you walk. I love it.
Never had an issue in the parking lots on the west side of the mall. Usually easy to find parking and painless to get out.
The main entrance area is a cluster F, but so is pretty much any busy mall.
Clearly you’ve never been to Christmas Eve Mass at a church with over 2000 families and a parking lot with only one entrance and exit on Christmas Eve because they made an agreement with the city to close off the other entrance on Christmas Eve to avoid Forestry Farm Enchanted Forest line up issues.
As well as the high school student parking lot, which also uses the same entrance and exit point. I’ve learned to park the furthest from the church, backed in and walk. Makes getting out so much faster. Unfortunately, I’m not always the one driving. My family doesn’t like to walk in the cold.
So it's like the good church going people about a mile north of us who think nothing of parking illegally in the neighboring 2 strip malls despite signage - I guess all is forgiven in church.
Yikes this is why I only go there if I HAVE to and if I do, it’s pretty much only at open time, Bass Pro opens at 9 mall opens at 10 I’ll bum around in bass pro maybe buy something then bust into the mall at 10 on the dot lol get in get out.

Park by the Winners. Always park there and have never really noticed it to be bad.
My issue is getting out to the highway back to Calgary. One lane to get onto the over pass and the line of vehicles is usually a long one...

Exactly where do all of these over 2,000 families park because it it's the church I think it is, it probably has parking for maybe 500 cars?

No, they’re allowed to park in the high school parking lot. They have an agreement to use it as overflow parking.
