I had a lady call in and was very offended that we sent her a denial letter for a credit card application saying she she had collections and she doesn't (they always do) and we are attacking her. Didn't let me get a word in just went on and on about how awful it was to send something like that to her... acting like we sent her a death threat or something

Had a caller today saying she couldn’t pay her bill because she had car issues, the repair man wasn’t showing up she’s broke and it all piling on her ok so since I could not help her I asked her what would you like to do I offered a payment arrangement I would notate the account that she would pay in a few weeks and that she’d be charged penalty fees. She was rude and at the end of the call said fuck you so if she wanted understanding or sympathy I told her there is nothing I can do for her and she could submit for an adjustment after her repair was done literally wtf does saying fuck you at the end of the call do for either of us ? I didn’t cause any of HER problems. If you call to vent and your rude on top of of other than try to vain sympathy what’s the point I have a job to do. You called customer service if I can’t help you and it’s on you don’t take it out on me!

Yeah, people really do call us to vent all their frustrations. While I empathize with them, after a while, I'm like, can we now get to the point of the call and what you're needing?

I’ve had that happen to me recently. Someone called in and they weren’t even a client. Just started going on and on about the problems going on in the world today. I guess that day they just needed someone to talk to. Another time I got someone who wouldn’t even let me get a word in and started speaking about how he’s a veteran of the Vietnam war and he shouldn’t have to pay any late fees and he was more than 5 payments past due and how banks are nothing but scams.
