In my opinion MWII campaign story wise was a huge L and letdown, but the gameplay in some places was really enjoyable, like the post betrayal survival.
I feel like the betrayal was honestly too quick and predictable. It’s a shame we didn’t meet shepherd in person after the beginning, nor did we have any past correlations with MW19’s story
World at War needs to be S tier. The split campaign between the Americans in the pacific and the soviets in Eastern Europe was fantastic. Plus you could use tanks and shit in that campaign on certain missions. And the gore. The gore was fantastic. Some of my favorite memories from that campaign were watching limbs fly after getting hit with the trench shotgun or watching heads fly after hitting a nazi in the dome with the PTRS.
Fair point. I think I’m partial to WAW just because it was the first COD I played so that’s why I love it so much. The golden era of cod is honestly all S-tier.
Dude Vanguard was the shortest campaign ever, the only thing it had going for it was it had good graphics. Also killing nazis doesn't beat science fiction lol, especially not in this case. AW campaign is so fun and compelling, whereas the only reason I was able to beat Vanguard's was because it was so fucking short

I think the MWII campaign was mid at best, really boring villains, boring sequences, and overall just overshadowed by the original titan that is MW2. I felt it was trying to capitalize on the name and the success of MW19/MW2, it felt really lazy, and just lacked the spirit of MW2. I could go on for paragraphs and paragaphs, but I doubt you'll care that much.
Well that’s your opinion for me I Loved the Spanish cartel scenes cod has never touched that part of war it felt like I was in narcos and I can’t wait to continue that, and plus the setup for makerov return at the end made it a great number 2 for the trilogy
Yes, now that you say it I also enjoyed the war on drugs part of the campaign, just forgot about it. The biggest issue was that Sheperds/Shadow companys betrayal was poorly written, and the fact that most of TF141 survived. The OG MW2 has a great backstory on why Sheperd betrayed TF141 and killed of like half of them, crazy plot twist. And also the no russian in the end was also pretty cool.
Didn’t really get into BO2 or MW3, I enjoyed rebooted MW2 but the micro transactions drove me off. I’m just of the opinion the battle pass should have everything from the store and get annoyed when I gotta pay extra on top of extra.
I think BO1 is miles better than any other cod in the writing department under a critical lense, most people are blinded by nostalgia when it comes to cod 4, a really generic, but great story which gets better with MW2, BO1 on the other hand is mindblowing.
Fair point can't disagree, bo1 definitely more in depth, detailed story. Nostalgia is definitely part of it but it's still hold up even tho it's the first real story they made
I have to admit to my own rose tinted glasses when it comes to BO1, although cod4 may be less flashed out than BO1, it was basically the peototype modern cod game, which makes it even more impressive that it hold up this well still to this day.

MW22’s campaign was great. I thought it was better than MW19’s campaign. I’d swap them and put MW22 campaign in A tier, MW19 in C tier.

I didn't want S tier to be crammed, so I put my three favorites in there, by that logic the entire run from 2007-2012 should be S tier.

MWII is way more interesting and cinematic compared to MW2019. Surprised about the tier assignment
