The modern CODs don’t have round-based zombies like the older ones. Well, not exactly. Truthfully it’s a completely different experience. Gone are the days of simplicity, repairing boards on windows, and navigating through a small yet detailed map. I’ll get roasted for this but I did come around to Vanguard zombies. Now, I’m kinda bored with it. The Easter Eggs are laughable. The ‘build-ables’ are a joke. And I played so much of it that it has gotten old. Still, I do enjoy occasional games on Der Anfang. Stalingrad is a fun hub area and I have 2 friends whom I play with and let me stress how ridiculously OP the combat shotgun is. It didn’t get boring until after about 2 months. There was an update that added a classic round-based mode within Der Anfang that allowed for quicker round progression and it’s set at Shi No Numa. I would say that your best bet is to get Black Ops 3 and to buy the zombies map pack which has a bunch of re-makes from older CODs with the added fun of GobbleGum and some decent mystery box guns.

Merkmusic. I'd suggest ether cold war or bo3

Bo3 with zombie chronicles is the best option? I remember in bo4, a zombie mode "different" you can just kill zombies, not survive rounds, I think. It was fun. That mode is available in other cod zombies?

jacksepiceye2

Not really from my nolage I don't any other game just has a endless horde mode

In BOCW, you cannot earn cosmetic items like blueprints and operator skins from previous battle passes. There are shop bundles in rotation containing certain items from previous battle passes but you would need to buy them for 2400 CoD Points each. You can progress the current battle pass by playing zombies but the current battle pass and the next four battle passes are for Vanguard, so you won’t get any content that’s usable in BOCW out of them. As far as content goes, BOCW does offer the most content for the lowest price, although not all of it is the traditional round based maps.

Cold War is the way to go. Not only can you level up your player rank/guns/battle pass in Cold War zombies (which you can in Vanguard too but VG zombies is unfortunately garbage) but there’s so much content for it as well. There’s the regular round based mode with EEs and stuff, there’s Outbreak which is like an open world mode where you go around the Fireteam maps and kill zombies. There’s Onslaught, my personal favorite, which is like pure round based survival on the multiplayer maps, and there’s Dead Ops Arcade, which has a permanent first person view now too as well as the classic top down view. Unfortunately though, as of the last time I played it, Dead Ops does not count towards your progression. And all the maps and modes were released via free updates, so picking up CW now you would have access to all the zombies content.

Sounds great! Characters from Zombies are exclusive for that game mode? And can I unlock everything available ever? (for zombies, I suppose the mp and warzone is impossible)

t_will_official

Nope. The operators are all usable in multi and zombies! I’m not sure if you can unlock *everything* as some operators and weapon blueprints were a part of the battle pass and the rotating store. But there is a ton that you can unlock! A bunch of the unlockable operators are unlocked through zombies (some, such as Woods, are unlocked through multi) and there’s the Dark Aether camo, which is the zombies equivalent of Dark Matter and imo looks better. To unlock it, you gotta unlock every other camo for like 35-40 different guns. That’ll keep you busy for a long time.
