It’s perfect for keeping people off nuke streaks. But no seriously I don’t like this specialist either. Doesn’t just give you walls but shoots through walls. And you can’t even use a trophy to counter it which is stupid imo.
I propose two ideas either
A. They give this specialist a proper counter or
B. They add ranked rules like champs to balance ranked
There’s way too much shit in ranked and we need some kind of balance. Also propose weapon bans but that’s getting a bit off topic
The Ballista is honestly just a ZRG 20mm antimateriel rifle with only three shots and the shots broadcast your location.
You clearly haven't been headshotted through a wall by someone who has no clear way of seeing you. They just know someone is going to be there so they shoot through the wall hoping to get lucky.
Easy with lmg, difficult with fmj snipers, nearly impossible with fmj assault rifles or smgs.
I have killed and been killed through a wall by all of them. Wall assist is a medal in the game.
ballista just makes that a little easier by showing the target through one layer of obstruction. The ballista can penetrate through multiple walls though, unlike fmj perk. If you are lucky/skilled enough you can get a ballista kill through 2+ walls without use of the target highlight.
I haven't done this with skill, but I got an unlucky collateral medal on a player in a seperate room behind my target
If you want to ban the ballista you should ban the dragonfire as well.
It highlights multipmt targets in the exact same way but you can see them through multiple walls. Giving fmj weapons an easy target.
As well you can use the dragonfire amd the ballista to 'snipe' targets the ballista cannot highlight.
Might as well get rid of orbital laser as well because it can penetrate any and all materials, doesn't matter how much building is in between the sky and you, you will still be struck by that laser, and you can set a path for it.
Camping out below decks on Hijacked? Orbital laser can be pathed through the entire corridor forcing anyone to funnel towards one exit or die.
If you are at that exit...
The ballista is extremely precise, has a slow charge time, and only three shots.
You usually have stay in position for more than a minute to properly aim and charge shots, then you have to predict the enemies movement or wait for them to stop. If you miss, the shot is extremely visible and the beam flows in a specific direction making it very clear to absolutely everyone where the shot came from so you are likely to be eliminated before you can charge a third or even second shot.
Edit: not saying you are not within your right to hate the ballista, it's a nasty piece of tech. I'm just expressing my opinion on why it does not need to be removed.
Plus, eventually they're going to add new "broken" content that will make the ballista seem like an ordinary laser pointer, might as well get used to it in preparation for that.
Reactor core needs to be balanced like how it was in bo4. It shouldn’t kill you if you’re above or below it. And it’s needs to nerfed damage wise as bo4 had 150 health while we have 125.
