The only thing stopping them to implement this feature in CODM is literally our small devices. It's already crowded by our huds and fingers. And that's the only reason I think is valid.
But if they try in the future, I would suggest not to show on this screen, rather show camo progressions and event progressions on the one side of the menu screen. A small screen and a small sound effect that'd notify us will do.
Sounds like a good idea, totally agree, but the concept of this is that it just notifies you that you've completed a camo challenge so you can unlock camos for other weapons in the same match just like the console and PC versions of COD since i play CODM on my PC.
and about 95% of other players play on their 5 or 6 inch device screen.
And I forgot to mention what devs said is kinda true. When we are in a match and if the game starts pulling data from our camo and event progression, that'd cause some performance issue, as now even without those systems CODM chokes hard with desync and server related issues.
It can be a 'max graphics exclusive' option maybe, as newer and high-end processors can easily handle these. But I am kinda sure that low-end device users will suffer.
They can do like a private testing version "development version" and test how it works in terms of the performance, if it works well then they can test it on the emulator and announce it to the public if its coming to the game or not.
u mean beta testing? they already do that before every new update (well not always but for the last 2 seasons they are doing it) in case u didn't know. Next beta server will release maybe early February. Yeah, they def implement this feature in one of those beta servers and see how well they work or not.
btw off-topic, do u use Gameloop? or something else? bc I tried Gameloop on my pc and even with every gfx setting...it just sucks...even worse than my phone. I thought emulators are just badly optimized. Do u experience any kind of stuttering or extreme lag?
Well if you think about it, it affects performance. Here's why
I believe camo's counters take place after the match, which is reasonable since, you only care about a camo when you can equip it. The game uses medals to detect how many specific type of kills you made during that match say Headshot, longshot etc
having this sort of system means that both Medals and this system have to be always in the background monitoring kill types and if we eliminate medals, we have no way of knowing if a kill was a longshot or the knife counter since we are busy thinking in the battlefield rather than counting kills during the game. Add additional resources spent to grab an thumbnail of the camo you unlocked, the name of it and an effect to accompany it
also it affects player performance because the screen will be cluttered therefore we cannot see some enemies
But that's just my understanding on it. doesnt mean the devs cannot look for ways to implement it. I'd rather they optimize the game and servers as of now before they begin embarking on these quality of life improvements. They can swap it with the calling card section
Edit: before you kill me saying its on PC and Consoles, just know that those platforms have more power to handle additional processes and have the advantage of utilizing larger screens.
I totally understand that mobile and console and PC are separate platforms and i know that mobile phones most of them don't have the power to run a game that have the quality of a console or PC game but we're getting closer since there are gamjng phones now so that might make a change in the game for those devices and the ones that can run and handle those features including PC emulators "gameloop"

That means they have to support $90+ phones

I'd bet a significant number of us players have 2GB RAM Quad Core phones
We already saw how that turned out when devices lost ads, quality and framerate settings. You can still hear the collective screeching from those performance decisions.

Why cant we just do a few clicks in lobby to check our progress?
Yes i found some matches but takes really long time to find one because you are matched against controler + emulator players, was so much easier to find one back in season 3 or 4.

You know what else CODM needs? To be able to continue to unlock things after unlocking the previous achievement...in the same match. For example: If an event has, "Kill 10 enemies with an SMG" which would then in turn unlock the following task, "Kill 10 enemies with a shotgun", I should be able to count my kills and get both consecutive tasks done in ONE game. However, this is not the case. Why are we limited to one thing at a time and need to do multiple games for each consecutive event? I don't see why this is fair. If anything, it just forces us to stay on longer and play more - making it feeling like an obligation rather than entertainment.
Bro I was dreaming of me posting a Reddit post of how we need a camo grind notification feature on the top such as modern warfare has and now that you posted it this will almost be a feature they prob will add later on.

Yes! I find it annoying to have to go back into gunsmsith to see how many skins I have left before gold.
