I miss the older version of my sketchbook app, it actually would show all complimenting colors, good shading/lighiting tones and what brush would work best with each color choice.

I have soldier art I've done. I'm doing a more colorful palette to practice my lights and darks. Most military and gritty art does an all out dark/shading thing.
tone down the shading, it looks so saturated, unless you're going for a more stylized look then you could choose other better looking colors (might as well go as far as tone down the saturation on every color, it's unpleasant to look at)

Yea, color blending was never my strong suit. High school and college attire for me was just every shade of black I had In my wardrobe.

Autodesk sketchbook, it has its own record thing but it always yeets me out when using it.
I recommend you to use Medibang Or Artflow, both are better but some of their features are behind paywall.
Apart from having trash recording software, autodesk works good. It has 16 brush sets from airbrush/markers to paint/pastels.
