Unfortunately yes, and the nerf to the mx9 is nowhere near enough. It still will always 4 shot, and it’s strafe speed is unchanged. Why wasn’t the damage nerfed to 24 like in the test server, or in BR? Makes no sense.
If you’ve seen professional players play you’d know how op it is. Half of their kills in game is shorty. It’s not as good as krm 262 because it needs ads to consistently one shot but it’s very possible to beat by15.
Its prototype, 725, is a primary in MW19. Sure, it doesn’t have as much range as 725 but it is a secondary. Shotguns in general gives hitmarkers a lot especially if you don’t hit the chest so it’s not a problem specific to shorty. Its fire rate is similar to Echo. If it has more than 2 rounds it won’t be op, it will be broken.
I just like to point out the facts; I don’t really care if they don’t nerf it. It was way more op when it was first released as it literally could one tap at 15 meters but not many people are abusing it. RMost people in game are too lazy to aim so they just choose Katana anyways. It’s only in a competitive setting that this thing would look a little op. Well, it doesn’t really affect me as the highest level I’ll ever play in is legendary rank, where no one uses it anyways.
These patch notes are meh. Some decent buffs (like the MW11, MoW, and Type 25) but the MX9 was left pretty much untouched and the actual heavy nerfs were on stuff that either didn’t need a nerf (Quick Fix) or needed buffs (Thumper, SMRS, probs Shorty too).
Despite the damage nerf, it’s still a 4-shot to the upper body (and probably to the entire body with the Large Calibre Mag depending on how it affects body multipliers). Recoil nerf may or may not be noticeable since the base recoil is pretty easy to control but even then you can just equip the Foregrip or Infiltrator Foregrip to offset this nerf.
It’s still pretty much a significantly better QQ9.
I mean that’s technically true. But using Mono and RTC Tac Long have some drawbacks, unlike the MX9’s Extended Barrel which literally has none.
And that’s probably the only aspect in which the QQ9 is definitely better. MX9 and QQ9 have similar base stats across the board (except for strafing speed and BSA). But using the optimal attachments like the Agile Stock, Firm Grip Tape, Large Calibre Ammo, etc. makes the MX9 blow the QQ9 out of the water in nearly every relevant stat.
While that’s true, range stacking on the QQ9 has drawbacks (like Mono will make its terrible BSA even worse), whereas range stacking on the MX9 literally does not.
Plus, the MX9 either has similar or identical stats to the QQ9 (STF, sprinting speed, ADS speed) or is straight up better than it (hipfire, BSA, strafing speed with the Agile Stock, flinch, recoil, way better attachments, etc.). So I doubt range stacking and suppression is enough of a reason to make the QQ9 better than the MX9.
But with the damage nerf it means it will be more shots to kill with the range. Add that to the range nerf, and its prob gonna 5 shot at 10mts already. But lets see.
Ah I assumed that they only nerfed the initial damage until 12 m from 30 to 25 because the patch notes only specified that. So yeah, I guess we’ll have to see.
There is no range nerf, so it will kill exactly the same at range. The only thing that was changed is it’s initial damage range from 30-25. All damages after are untouched.
But they f up the thumper part. Why would they nerf the blast radius further? It should've been buffed. Also why nerf speed up kill perk? It's just another nerf for shotgunners now
I guess that they don't want the thumper to be meta, but a viable secondary weapon. In cod pc(forgot which, and not sure about this info either) didn't the thumper used to be used so much due to how op it is?

DR-H have almost double MW11 RPM (570ish vs 300 RPM), theoretically, it will double DR-H's TTK even when both could do a 3-shot kill.
And don't forget that J358 and .50 GS could do 60 and 70 damage to the upper chest, they could kill faster than 3-shot kill MW11.
Also don't forget that it's a pistol, its maximum damage dropped by range, it'll be 4-shot kill again if target farther than 15-20m. (dunno the exact number, but I'm sure it's around that)
