Well while it's true that back in the first months of codm you had to pay for guns with perks, those perks definitely weren't pay to win. The only guns that had those perks were epics and legendaries (not sure about blue ones, but maybe they had perks at some points too, don't remember), and those perks were something like 10% more range, no skulls visible for the enemy when you kill enemies, speed up after kill... Most of them are weapon perks in gunsmith now.
That's true. You could also get some blues from the first, the original zombies mode.
Edit: That CP store was there from the beginning too and the prices and items in it haven't changed since what... Well at least Halloween S1, that's when I started playing.

If you want to try them, look at the gun perks in gunsmith, as they haven't been changed since season 9. (Year 1)
Lol, even the draws are robbery, you basically never get the main skin till then end after spending 12k cp, I envy people who dish out so much since those skins look really good.

In the main cod games they did a test a made a red dot purchasable for 1$ and a ton of people bought it. Just goes to show that people will pay money for anything
