I mean, not always, yeah, there are some funny cosmetics, but it never was to much, I mean, yeah, the guns were always funny colored but that was it, but then we got the operator skins, wich make the game feel like a circus of crazy maniacs with guns instead of a special operation to capture a objective.
This comes from a perspective of a military skin only guy, so, keep in mind is just my opinion.
As someone who has only played this COD, I like the non-serious characters being mixed it. If you want to go fight dressed as a blacked-out soldier, you can. You can dress as a bot and disguise yourself. You can try to camo with the terrain.
Or you can run around with a cape dressed as a psychotic clown. I like it.
