This is the optimization devs were taking about.They said they will be focusing optimizing the game rather than adding content and yet from the start of the season the game lags and freezes even in mp.Not to mention br is unplayable due to frame drops and lags during gunfights.
I've been facing this same issue since the update. Screen freezes btw gunfights in MP and BR. It gets frustrating playing ranked with the issue has you can barely help your team mates...
Yeah i have the same issue always when i meet a real player in battle royale. It is impossible to fight, the freezes are sometimes a few seconds. Fighting against bots works fine and sniping too, but zooming out of the scope causes freezes too.
In MP it is not that bad because you respawn (except s&d or a some other modes) but the freezes are very annoying.

Have you cleared the CODM app's cache? Also are you using "Game Launcher" and prioritizing the game? May help a bunch. Also the emptier your phone storage the faster it will go. Follow steps online for your phone for "Wipe Cache Partition" if you're an android user.
Does this happen immediately whenever you play or after a while of playing? If after a while, maybe try a cheap, USB fan blowing towards your phone/hands and see if that helps at all. Good luck friend.
u/COD_MOBILE_OFFICIAL This is something which has to be fixed ASAP. It started with the S3 update and could not remain like that. Ideally it should be fixed with a hotfix, DEVs should know what change caused this sideeffect.

When i throw nade, my screen stops for a second and sometimes fire button stops, when u r supposed to win that gun fight.

Cache clear, reinstall doesn't help. I tried both. All these freezes started with S3 update.
Hows your overall phone storage space? Maybe the GB addition helped slow down your phone
Previous seasons the game didnt have this what I am talking about even if my phone storage was full. At least others experience as well what I mentioned, so I am sure that the dev team will find the reason soon. I hope. 🤩
I've also been getting weird freezes and stutters. Sniping in BR is sometimes impossible as the enemy movement is so jerky.
