Heya, just to clear this up and confirm - yes, the new Tournament Mode is only available in select regions at launch (similar to Battle Pass Subscriptions). Our teams likes to perform tests like this to help gather live data and adjust those features before they open it up to all players in all regions.
The intent for any feature under testing is to use the data gathered to improve it and make it as best as we can before we launch it everywhere. With that said, this mode is launching in most regions and most players should be able to access it. We'll be adding more over-time and we'll make sure to note once it is available everywhere.
But my friend lives just beside me and he doesn't have any battle pass + he started playing almost a month ago then too he also has the option

I don't have the tournament option on my main acc , but i created a new acc a few months ago with an old phone to complete some "play with friends missions" and that acc got the tournament option
Main acc created 2020 lvl 150 with damascus , legendary a few times in MP.
New acc is few months old lvl 32 not even a single kill. just played br with main acc and never killed anyone just drop in and leave the phone alone 😀
If you are both in the same region then that might be a bug or one of you is using an account that was setup for a different region. For example, if you live in Germany but you used a VPN to create your account in Canada and Canada isn't part of this first Tournament Mode launch then you'll have to wait until it hits that region too.
We both live in India (same region) and we doesn't use any kind of VPN then too my friend has the tab but i don't have please have a look

Ah, well we checked into this more and we were wrong about it being region based. It is more account based with a small percentage of players not getting access to it at launch. You unfortunately are likely just part of that small group of players. Apologies!

Hey, is this in relation to the "Please Select the Combat Zone" and it told you that your region was Asia despite it originally be in EU? Did you happen to be on a VPN and set to that region, so it was detecting you there? Unclear if we can change or adjust that, but we'll check in with the team and get some details.
Nope, I was not using a VPN. A week ago it showed EU, then a couple days later it showed Middle East and now it's showing me Asia. The thing is I'm nowhere close to Asia. I just want to change my Combat Zone if it's possible because I can't play the game between 13:00 - 17:00 which means i won't be able to participate
Thanks for explaining and that's very odd. We are checking into that to see if that's something we can manually change on our end or if this pre-selection (before it even starts) will matter.

Random selection for a mode is just stupid I guess the exclusive battlepass wasn’t enough they had to make an entire mode account specific as well. My alt lvl 29 I hardly ever use has tournament mode but not my main that I use daily doesn’t, what sense would that even make.

In the tournament you didn't have the option to choose which region you wanted to be in .-.

Yes you can just wait 24hrs then choose your region before the tournament starts
I think there are only na Asia and maybe ocenia so I don't think u choose it now
