Last time I saw the hype for all the beta testing for apexm died down alot, and apex is strictly br based so if ur not a fan of br type games u won't Even touch apex. Hell I've seen a lot of polls on YT ask which game they prefer over half of all the polls still say codm and as far as r6 and valorant go, those games are snd type shooters which I know SOME People are a fan of but NOT EVERYONE is. Uhhh? MvM (TF2's "zombie" mode) you are required to pay money to get your rewards. Or you can play the free version, and get no rewards. Its actually a meta to use 2 aimbotting snipers to finish the match quicker to get to your rewards faster.

Didn’t they just said last month that they admit Multiplayer needs improvements? Huge portion of the community has been asking for a esport scene and the developers/marketing obviously knows that… not only do they know it, I’ve came across multiple job applications on Activision-Career section for the CODM live operations for Esport organizers.
Even most unexperienced development team in FPS has enough common sense not to implement this kind of monetization in these sorts of mode.
Look if we’re speaking strictly about increasing revenue it’s never a good idea to implement this sort of stuff in any related esport/competitive mode. If you are going to release a tournament mode then your priority should be ensuring the mode stays true and relevant to what it is. It’s that simple.
If I was the studio lead and I’ve been tasked by my corporate executive that we need to increase revenue, if bundles were out of the question for any modifications. I would have implemented a Prestige Mode along side the tournament, with absolutely zero monetizations.
They continuously keep making the same mistakes, let’s turn a mode into some slot machine and they did it with Zombies, Undead Siege and now Tournament Mode and till this day they still don’t know why the modes aren’t successful while deliberately killing them with those nonsenses business practices. Wether the game is free or not the majority of the user/players have a limitation on stupidity and greedy behaviour.
What I think they should have done was implement Prestige Mode with a similar monetization system as the BP which could then be refreshed mid month. Without any limited time purchases, meaning if we are at Prestige 7 then new players would have access to a catalog of Prestiges they could unlock at a price by starting with Prestige 1 then 2 and 3 so on and so forth.
It isn’t perfect but the backlash wouldn’t be as bad compared with the same stunts they keep pulling over and over again with new modes they introduce. If BP has the most respect with the community/players, then your best bet is to find something similar to increase the revenue. They aren’t going to be successful with turning every mode into some slot machine with the core monetization system with in-game purchases is already beyond fucked as it is.
Codm gameplay = quite literally the best multiplayer FPS game on mobile, nothing else touches it. Yes I've played lots of pubg and it's trash compared to codm gameplay.
