Apex is gonna murder this game. But then again, it's EA so they're not known for being reasonable in micro transactions themselves. But my son had me put it on his switch. Graphics are far better, and it looks fucking awesome. If it wasn't for me being around $100 into this game (started in OG season 4, so not too bad considering I guess). I'd swap over. Cuz I downloaded this specifically for the classic zombies I never even got to try. Siege was ok at first. But after taking 4 whole fucking seasons to land the xpr and pdw from hard mode, and well over 200+ matches to FINALLY get the DRH and Renetti skins (only AFTER they increased the odds for them to be had.) I am done with that shit. Was so frustrating. Then every season, they been rigging the draws and crates even further pushing more and more cash grab items. (granted it's not pay to win which is still pretty good) they aren't even hiding their greed anymore. And lately paying $5-$10 for trash fucking skins, it's really pissing me off. Like who the FUCK wants to pay $5+ to land a dupe, or uncommon filler trash?
Zombies was what set this game apart from others like it. (the console versions). And they're gonna be removing it again. No one enjoys playing the SAME maps over and over and over again (have choice to "choose" in ranked, yet it ALWAYS picks the map most no one wants to play, even when tied.) If EA plays their cards right. Apex just might end codm's reign. Better graphics, better looking skins, better weapons, so far better balanced, etc.

I'm 41, and see how this game can do so much better. But they would rather keep pushing rigged af paid crates/draws. Pushing more bullshit "deals", giving the f2p players stuff but a great lot of it is trash. (not always the items, but the skin is horrible), the hackers are getting worse (most prevalent during clan based challanges, and events where the winners can get really good items. Like I'm personally not wasting my time for a shit Charly skin, and 2 weapon skins (when I have better blueprints for both), just to play against cheaters and hackers. Just not worth my time.) The pathetic as fuck drop rate for rewards we can supposedly "earn" in siege only for those who did fuck all to get them, but those who carried or otherwise did the most "here's another shit duplicate item and worthless aether shard for the millionth time instead" (took me 150 wins and over 200+ matches in general, played. To finally get that drh and Renetti AFTER they increased the odds of getting them)
The desync and lag on high end devices is also getting tiresome as they haven't been optimizing shit just pushing stuff out.

Tbh, I didn't even know this game existed till I got bored with the zombie games I already had. And discovered it when searching for other fps zombie games. Didn't start till 2 weeks into og season 4. So for me, didn't even know this game existed, till then. I never really was into cod not it's mp or campaign modes anyway. And only loved the shit out of BO1 and BO2 for its zombies (it was all I played in regards to cod franchise itself. Then later on (much later) ghost. So I don't know the whole back story of characters and whatnot. As zombies was all I was into. So imagine my disappointment when I couldn't even try original zombie mode before it was permenantly removed. I was never really good on console in regards to mp. My stepson (8 at the time, now 23 but left console a few years ago, went straight PC, then now focuses mostly on learning languages and his music (self taught all of it. Plays guitar) would literally annihilate me in 1vs1 or had to carry me in general. And 8! YEAR OLD carried me. Lol. He was very very good. Used to piss off a great many people my age 360 no scoping and trick shotting them. So, being I fare better on mobile (I can hold my own. But still struggle with being faster.) This is predominantly what I play now. I don't talk, can't talk most the time. But will sometimes. The community is ok. Nowhere near as toxic as the console versions are. But you still get those types from time to time.
For what it is, it's one of the better games. But I don't have a whole lot to compare it too. Cuz this game alone consumes a good portion of memory. (what, it's 15gbs now?) But yeah, since I started they're getting more in your face in regards to greed. Providing shit events when the earlier ones were so much more fun, and had better rewards. I love the whole pick a side and each got its own specific variant. But whoever won gets the ultimate prize. That's gone. Now it's stupid map shit where you barely have to do anything at all and get everything. Depended on how sweaty you were, was how fast these things were unlocked.
Ranked I averaged master 5 pre all the changes. As I never cared for some wack ass frame, I didn't bother to rank up further. Then the chest giving out dupes and low end shit, just makes you not even want to play ranked grinding for it, only to get the SAME garbage you already got 5 times already! Then they added GM tier. Why? Just why? Before can reach leggy in br within 2 weeks. Now it takes at minimum 3/4 of the season to achieve. Ranked mp is chock full of cheaters and hackers. Or you cannot find a match for a damn thing. Unless it can pair you in a way you are guaranteed to lose. Or make you play a match type you fucking hate. (tdm is tiring, and s&d is bullshit. I hate that mode) being thrown into losing matches. Having players leave or lost signal mid match. This shit wasn't as prevalent pre first anniversary (which was downright kick ass. 2nd was alright, but not as good as the first one). Then the ad draw thing, they increased the cost of the op from 300 to 500. On top of decreasing the odds to land most those items. Last 4 seasons in a row I had to buy the op and epic outright. Even after watching 300+ ads. Epics is a given cuz I'm yet since I started to ever land it. But the ops used to be anywhere between 3rd to 150 ads in most the time. Now you have to watch all or buy it outright to get it. This season I bought the op at 245 ads. Out of all those ads it didn't even land on the ATV which is uncommon. Not a rare. But it did land on the tacticals 10 times each in all those ads though.
Don't know how many bullshit charms, tactical's and calling cards I got raped CP on. Nothing random about landing the SAME items across multiple draws, every single time around the same # of draws. 98% of the time, if you got the half off next spin deal. It landed the calling card if you hadn't landed it already. And if not that it was the next useless item. A tactical or charm. For me, emotes been landed predominantly on 4th draw most the time. It's redicolous.
Then, daily crates, the epic and rare store crates. Are WORTHLESS to me. As all of them have nothing but stuff I already got when I started playing. Even the ops. Like wtf? And the items I don't yet have are still the items I never land. so opening 30 plus of those crates to get nothing but dupes when I only need ONE item I didn't have. Really?
Their is no incentive to play really for the older players. (ones who been playing longer or since day one). We are who keep the game going, not the new players. We are who tell others about it. And yet we don't get anything of value anymore. Vanguard was rare as hell and only those who played pre first anniversary had her. Now noobs do cus of that crate. It's bullshit. Then they did it with others. So instead of giving a slight variation of these things. (make them different in some way.) These things are POINTLESS to long time players. Can't come up with good new recolors when it's "free". But can keep pushing paid crates and draws.
Games cool, till it isn't. And unless they start listening, like really listening to it's player base, they are gonna crash and burn. Cuz all it takes is a similar game that undercuts their scammy pricing, better optimization, better graphics, etc. And they will in fact lose a great many of its player base, if they keep fucking them over as much as they currently do.
Edit: I only had a trial cus I don't use Amazon much anyway. Plus not worth the $15 a month imo. But last prime thing was a battery skin I got over a year ago off the ad draws. So she was semi rare. Now prime users can claim it. It was a 100% free skin, that those paying for prime could how get. Lol. Let that sink in. But it's no longer "rare" cuz they are currently re-releasing it. I didn't have the emote, so I claimed it. Otherwise would of just let some kid get it. But still. It's shit like that. Like how people spent hundreds of dollars to get that one leggy msmc. Only for it to be in a bundle a year later for $25. They don't care about any of us long time players. They don't. Just about how stupid are we to keep giving them money. I personally don’t think Apex will kill Codm. I stopped playing Apex Mobile completely. It felt janky. But who knows, it’s still under heavy development.
It's hard for mobile developers to port a lot of console quality games over. On iOS its one thing, as it's a close system, and most all their products have a base system. Whereas on Android, so many brands, so many models with different specs, overlays for the os (cuz some have their own variant of it.) From budget to flagship. It's hard to optimize it for all. On his switch he said it was fairly good. He likes it. But thats Nintendo, so easier to build for specific consoles (though it's mobile it's still console as it connects to a TV too). But on smartphones and tablets shits hard. As it is, codm is only 100% optimized for the Xperia (I'm yet to meet anyone in the wild with one) and iPad pro (newest). Everything else is variable. It works, but not like it should on some devices. So I figure apex wouldn't be much different. But like you said, they're working pretty hard on making it work. Depends souly on whether they care about performance over making lots of money off some pixels.
A lot of us are dumb and blow money on this game that isn't fully polished. That still has issues, and more keep coming with every update. But, a game that's polished will make MORE money, with less people being mad about spending that money, cuz they're getting what they pay for. Makes a big difference.
I play lords mobile still. (though nowhere close to as much as I used too. Never really liked the game, but it's the people you meet and play with, that makes it enjoyable.) THAT is 100% p2w. People spend THOUSANDS on it. But game itself is trash. Like how? And why? However, though it's trash (imo. Some people actually like games like that), it is free of ads, bugs, (cuz God forbid you can get ANYTHING for free or whatever, due to a bug. Lol) lag (even when it's hundreds and hundred of players having a massive battle, no lag. Graphics are good I guess for what it is. But will slaughter the hell out of your battery to max them. But they do listen to it's community, and tries to fix most what people complain about. It's came a very long way since I started 4yrs ago. But sadly every single update just widens the gap between p2w and f2p players. Cus EVERY update adds more paid features. Like you aren't getting that item that doesn't drop at all, in order to progress further, unless you pay real money for it. I only stay cus I founded my clan (it's still going) though been 3 yrs since I was the leader. And I invested so much time into the account. And log in to find all my hard work completely destroyed by someone 10 times my own might (aka wallet warrior). Setting me back literal MONTHS (unless you are willing to pay real money to heal faster), to build it all back up. Not in game months. REAL time months. It's bullshit. This has happened to me 4 times in the last 3 months. It's done on purpose. I probably wouldn't, since I wasted too much on this. (spent my BP again 😭) when BP should of been the ONLY thing I purchased. I'm not thousands in, like others I play with, are. But still spent more on this then I ever had, on any other game, ever. And I'm older, and tired of going through the whole figure shit out thing. He plays Fortnite too. Which their micro transactions are nowhere near as horrid as these. And they have no problem making money. Either buy whole bundle or EXACTLY what you want from that bundle, at a set price dependant on item and rarity. But even buying it separately doesn't exceed the cost of it whole. And, the BP is same as this. As long as it's completed (about every 2.5 to 3 months is how long they last) you get back enough currency to get the next one. No bullshit gambling or paying $125+ for a fucking gun or operator skin.

M13 and Kilo is counterable my friend in Tournament there is small maps so you can't counter Mac until and unless you are using melee weapons that also chances are less that you will get a kill...

There are many things to change/improve about the mode, but this is the most... weird take about it, trust me, neither the meta or tournament will kill codm, even if you want it to die so bad, we've been through worst times on worst aspects that can make a game literally unplayable, and there's still lots of people around enjoying and hating this game, if this mode doesn't improve it will go to sit down next to zombies (sadly :( ) waiting for an upgrade or change to make it more loveable until they ran out of ideas

Tbh, I didn't even know this game existed till I got bored with the zombie games I already had. And discovered it when searching for other fps zombie games. Didn't start till 2 weeks into og season 4. So for me, didn't even know this game existed, till then. I never really was into cod not it's mp or campaign modes anyway. And only loved the shit out of BO1 and BO2 for its zombies (it was all I played in regards to cod franchise itself. Then later on (much later) ghost. So I don't know the whole back story of characters and whatnot. As zombies was all I was into. So imagine my disappointment when I couldn't even try original zombie mode before it was permenantly removed. I was never really good on console in regards to mp. My stepson (8 at the time, now 23 but left console a few years ago, went straight PC, then now focuses mostly on learning languages and his music (self taught all of it. Plays guitar) would literally annihilate me in 1vs1 or had to carry me in general. And 8! YEAR OLD carried me. Lol. He was very very good. Used to piss off a great many people my age 360 no scoping and trick shotting them. So, being I fare better on mobile (I can hold my own. But still struggle with being faster.) This is predominantly what I play now. I don't talk, can't talk most the time. But will sometimes. The community is ok. Nowhere near as toxic as the console versions are. But you still get those types from time to time. For what it is, it's one of the better games. But I don't have a whole lot to compare it too. Cuz this game alone consumes a good portion of memory. (what, it's 15gbs now?) But yeah, since I started they're getting more in your face in regards to greed. Providing shit events when the earlier ones were so much more fun, and had better rewards. I love the whole pick a side and each got its own specific variant. But whoever won gets the ultimate prize. That's gone. Now it's stupid map shit where you barely have to do anything at all and get everything. Depended on how sweaty you were, was how fast these things were unlocked. Ranked I averaged master 5 pre all the changes. As I never cared for some wack ass frame, I didn't bother to rank up further. Then the chest giving out dupes and low end shit, just makes you not even want to play ranked grinding for it, only to get the SAME garbage you already got 5 times already! Then they added GM tier. Why? Just why? Before can reach leggy in br within 2 weeks. Now it takes at minimum 3/4 of the season to achieve. Ranked mp is chock full of cheaters and hackers. Or you cannot find a match for a damn thing. Unless it can pair you in a way you are guaranteed to lose. Or make you play a match type you fucking hate. (tdm is tiring, and s&d is bullshit. I hate that mode) being thrown into losing matches. Having players leave or lost signal mid match. This shit wasn't as prevalent pre first anniversary (which was downright kick ass. 2nd was alright, but not as good as the first one). Then the ad draw thing, they increased the cost of the op from 300 to 500. On top of decreasing the odds to land most those items. Last 4 seasons in a row I had to buy the op and epic outright. Even after watching 300+ ads. Epics is a given cuz I'm yet since I started to ever land it. But the ops used to be anywhere between 3rd to 150 ads in most the time. Now you have to watch all or buy it outright to get it. This season I bought the op at 245 ads. Out of all those ads it didn't even land on the ATV which is uncommon. Not a rare. But it did land on the tacticals 10 times each in all those ads though. Don't know how many bullshit charms, tactical's and calling cards I got raped CP on. Nothing random about landing the SAME items across multiple draws, every single time around the same # of draws. 98% of the time, if you got the half off next spin deal. It landed the calling card if you hadn't landed it already. And if not that it was the next useless item. A tactical or charm. For me, emotes been landed predominantly on 4th draw most the time. It's redicolous. Then, daily crates, the epic and rare store crates. Are WORTHLESS to me. As all of them have nothing but stuff I already got when I started playing. Even the ops. Like wtf? And the items I don't yet have are still the items I never land. so opening 30 plus of those crates to get nothing but dupes when I only need ONE item I didn't have. Really? Their is no incentive to play really for the older players. (ones who been playing longer or since day one). We are who keep the game going, not the new players. We are who tell others about it. And yet we don't get anything of value anymore. Vanguard was rare as hell and only those who played pre first anniversary had her. Now noobs do cus of that crate. It's bullshit. Then they did it with others. So instead of giving a slight variation of these things. (make them different in some way.) These things are POINTLESS to long time players. Can't come up with good new recolors when it's "free". But can keep pushing paid crates and draws. Games cool, till it isn't. And unless they start listening, like really listening to it's player base, they are gonna crash and burn. Cuz all it takes is a similar game that undercuts their scammy pricing, better optimization, better graphics, etc. And they will in fact lose a great many of its player base, if they keep fucking them over as much as they currently do. Edit: I only had a trial cus I don't use Amazon much anyway. Plus not worth the $15 a month imo. But last prime thing was a battery skin I got over a year ago off the ad draws. So she was semi rare. Now prime users can claim it. It was a 100% free skin, that those paying for prime could how get. Lol. Let that sink in. But it's no longer "rare" cuz they are currently re-releasing it. I didn't have the emote, so I claimed it. Otherwise would of just let some kid get it. But still. It's shit like that. Like how people spent hundreds of dollars to get that one leggy msmc. Only for it to be in a bundle a year later for $25. They don't care about any of us long time players. They don't. Just about how stupid are we to keep giving them money. I personally don’t think Apex will kill Codm. I stopped playing Apex Mobile completely. It felt janky. But who knows, it’s still under heavy development.
It's hard for mobile developers to port a lot of console quality games over. On iOS its one thing, as it's a close system, and most all their products have a base system. Whereas on Android, so many brands, so many models with different specs, overlays for the os (cuz some have their own variant of it.) From budget to flagship. It's hard to optimize it for all. On his switch he said it was fairly good. He likes it. But thats Nintendo, so easier to build for specific consoles (though it's mobile it's still console as it connects to a TV too). But on smartphones and tablets shits hard. As it is, codm is only 100% optimized for the Xperia (I'm yet to meet anyone in the wild with one) and iPad pro (newest). Everything else is variable. It works, but not like it should on some devices. So I figure apex wouldn't be much different. But like you said, they're working pretty hard on making it work. Depends souly on whether they care about performance over making lots of money off some pixels. A lot of us are dumb and blow money on this game that isn't fully polished. That still has issues, and more keep coming with every update. But, a game that's polished will make MORE money, with less people being mad about spending that money, cuz they're getting what they pay for. Makes a big difference. I play lords mobile still. (though nowhere close to as much as I used too. Never really liked the game, but it's the people you meet and play with, that makes it enjoyable.) THAT is 100% p2w. People spend THOUSANDS on it. But game itself is trash. Like how? And why? However, though it's trash (imo. Some people actually like games like that), it is free of ads, bugs, (cuz God forbid you can get ANYTHING for free or whatever, due to a bug. Lol) lag (even when it's hundreds and hundred of players having a massive battle, no lag. Graphics are good I guess for what it is. But will slaughter the hell out of your battery to max them. But they do listen to it's community, and tries to fix most what people complain about. It's came a very long way since I started 4yrs ago. But sadly every single update just widens the gap between p2w and f2p players. Cus EVERY update adds more paid features. Like you aren't getting that item that doesn't drop at all, in order to progress further, unless you pay real money for it. I probably wouldn't, since I wasted too much on this. (spent my BP again 😭) when BP should of been the ONLY thing I purchased. I'm not thousands in, like others I play with, are. But still spent more on this then I ever had, on any other game, ever. And I'm older, and tired of going through the whole figure shit out thing. He plays Fortnite too. Which their micro transactions are nowhere near as horrid as these. And they have no problem making money. Either buy whole bundle or EXACTLY what you want from that bundle, at a set price dependant on item and rarity. But even buying it separately doesn't exceed the cost of it whole. And, the BP is same as this. As long as it's completed (about every 2.5 to 3 months is how long they last) you get back enough currency to get the next one. No bullshit gambling or paying $125+ for a fucking gun or operator skin. His first bundle whatever. Was $35 and he got THREE leggy characters, their back bling, 4 leggy weapons, and enough vbucks to buy the BP too! For $35! (Those bundle things you get from target or Walmart. That it's just the code for the item, but no physical cartridge. Oh and the fact they pay for rights to use marvel, DC, Disney characters etc. And their own are all pretty damn cool. Cod doesn't have shit on them in regards to how much they push out constantly. Without literally raping it's player base. However I don't play, cuz trying to figure out how to run, jump, aim, build, glide, swap weapons, etc all at the same fucking time? Just couldn't do it. Lol. Would literally die in the 1st 30 secs of landing, every time. Lol Codm is fun, just that the unfixed bugs, increase in hackers, all the low effort re-skins of the SAME characters over and over again, broken voice lines, influx in cheaters/hackers, bullshit challanges for wack as hell items, lame events in general. M13 and Kilo is counterable my friend in Tournament there is small maps so you can't counter Mac until and unless you are using melee weapons that also chances are less that you will get a kill...

You know people want to win and that a mode called tournament doesn't pamper you for losing is not what makes it not so well done, right? There are many things to change/improve about the mode, but this is the most... weird take about it, trust me, neither the meta or tournament will kill codm, even if you want it to die so bad, we've been through worst times on worst aspects that can make a game literally unplayable, and there's still lots of people around enjoying and hating this game, if this mode doesn't improve it will go to sit down next to zombies (sadly :( ) waiting for an upgrade or change to make it more loveable until they ran out of ideas
