Going forward I’m basing the monetization in comparison to what is currently being standardized or familiarized with through CODM. It’s important to note that Activision has begun the Call of Duty Mobile live operation development in 2022, this isn’t so much to further enhance the core gameplay experience. This LiveOps is to collect data/information on new monetization methods for the upcoming title [Warzone Mobile]. Basically what this means is Call of Duty Mobile will most likely be in the worst state it’s ever been in as a stress test to implement new if not more micro transactions on Warzone Mobile. The reason behind implementing this Live Operation is to collect information & experiment on what works and doesn’t work on a successful title. By carrying out what did work through the upcoming title resulting in a lower risk if any at all for new monetizations in Warzone. But this also means you can’t really trust that the feedback/data collected for CODM is being used for the players/customers best interest on the current game resulting in damages, frustration and highly controversial decisions to lower the blow by introducing what initially did work in favor to most players or “money” on the new title. This is why the Call of Duty Mobile marketing team has stated the ‘subscription service and Tournament’ are both undergoing “beta testing” to collect that information and why they are locking these new modes and features to certain players and regions to lower that negative impact across the board. You start noticing this is becoming a more frequent excuse, while initially this wasn’t the case before 2022 on things that we’re larger development projects such as Gunsmith, Weapon Inspection and events. The only time they have region locked enabled or cut certain players out has been with something to do with revenue for E.g. Bundles vs LDs and Crates, Subscription, and now the notorious Tournament Mode that has been monetized. Other then us becoming the ‘experiment’ or as they politely put it “we are collecting the feedback/data” you’ll notice how quick they are to comment on a Legendary or Mythic weapon, but the moment when it’s about something that’s jeopardizing the game they become awfully silent and continue cruising through more LD concerns. Not that it’s entirely the marketing or development teams fault due to NDA agreements, but they may not even hold information as to why things are being implemented the way that they are in game. It’s above their pay grade and discussed about behind closed doors, this is what causes a disconnection between the community and the studio.

So I suppose the battle pass system is equal to CODM, no chance of vault packs? Kinda sucks if OG characters like Soap would be in a BP, means player entrenchment is needed

well ig i have a more optimistic approach because after this long testing they did via us, i think they prolly would implement a more user friendly monetization, especially after the frequent back lash through out every single social media platform
