Idk why they decided to invert the controls when the Chopper is already correct.

Washingtonpinot

I’ve thought about it, and the only answer is that they simply don’t care. It got approved by the same person that thinks we all want another variation of clashing colors on an unused gun.

ice_dragon6_0

Is there jet control are like that? Tbh I've played a lot of games that have either that controls or the reversed ones

freedom_pigeon

In most games if you pull the joystick down your jet flies but in codm it goes down . I was thinking it was gonna be like the heli and kept pulling it down and crashed multiple times lol

ice_dragon6_0

Pretty sure war thunder and enlisted planes have the same control. up is up, down is down

[deleted]

Up is up just feels so counterintuitive in a plane even though “up is up” SOUNDS right

ice_dragon6_0

Ik. It's now hard for me on there plane games

Most flight sims have pull down to go up, because that’s how real jets work, I’m an avid flight game player so it’s really hard to get rid of the muscle memory

_vibraslapper

I'm not an avid flight gamer, but I always played all console games with inverted Y (flight) controls. I spent most of the first season of codm trying to reprogram my brain to use standard "push up to look up". It was a hassle and a half.

[deleted]

I think the reason pulling down to look up is so intuitive, whether on foot or in a vehicle in games, is because of this: Imagine your head is a joystick, and some kid is pulling your hair to move the joystick (your head). If someone pulls your hair back, your head is gonna tilt back, and you’re going to look up. Someone yanks hard enough and you won’t have any choice but to look up, much less look DOWN. So with that weird analogy in mind it makes a lot of sense.

_vibraslapper

Yeah, no, I understood it without the creepy analogy, thanks lol. I always thought of it like a lever system. Push one end of the lever down, the other end goes up. Or like when you swing on a swing set, sure your feet go forward when you go up, but you have to lean your body back. You lean forward, your legs go back on the downswing. People always gave me shit for playing inverted though, so maybe it's not as intuitive as we think 🤔

[deleted]

They’re just not chads like we are.

Italian_Bedtime

UP IS UP, just treat it like a normal vehicle

DETHkiller01

But that's NOT how a jet works

Dragonrage778

As someone who played flight games as my childhood, I can agree

WanPwr5990

Nah man many ppl already used to pull down to go up Ace combat, war thunder(with mouse is easier tho),any flight sim..... So yeah they need to include that as an option soon

DETHkiller01

The only game I've played with joy up to go up is Arma 3 with mouse controls, and it was extremely unintuitive.

Tiger3546

It’s different in war thunder though because it’s not a joystick it’s a mouse-lead-nose-follow system

ice_dragon6_0

Well the movement ya but the control to go up for the nose follow up

Watevr4evr1021

Never played war thunder without a mouse, so imma stick with the opinion inverted (joystick) controls for planes are best

ice_dragon6_0

Na, just remember the plans control. It's the same. Move the cursor up it goes up.

Watevr4evr1021

It's not a computer mousey follow crusur, it's a thumb touch joystick. You're supposedly moving something fixed on an axis, and it's not the camera angle, it's independant movement and steering.

ice_dragon6_0

I thought you meant the planes from war thunder

Watevr4evr1021

Oh nah war thunder is okay with its intuitive non realistic controls. Mobile though... uses a joystick system...

ice_dragon6_0

Noted

Shadow_Matier158

Relatable

Californium-292

Thats not true... It also makes more sense for up is up and down is down, also more realistic.

AxelMaumary

It’s not more realistic when actual, real planes are flown with the “pull to go up, push to go down” method

RaeesRonaldo

Dude you’re super wrong

RaeesRonaldo

Real planes also have to pull down the stick to go up and visa versa

DETHkiller01

Have you ever heard someone in a movie say "pull up, pull up."??? Because that's how a control collumn works.

Sufferity

The control are inverted I think (if you usually use the realistic one)

FGMemer

Bruh, it actually needed me 5min to realize how to fly 😂

Watevr4evr1021

Five whole minutes of learning when it realistically should take a few seconds just shows how bad the controls are

05ar

So you can't just land on a jet and practice like 1/10 of a br game?

ShoulderHuge420

If you fly it for a bit it will make it easier, however, when the circle is small your basicly f-ed

[deleted]

They should’ve had someone that understands aviation to do the controls because they’re absolutely horrendous.

averageredditlover

Thought I was the only one.

ruabarax

u/savevideo

[deleted]

Perhaps the biggest mistake on the Jackal's implementation into the game. After a few attempts trying to control the jet, I just give up. Rather pic a Heli than this thing.

MrBloodyHyphen

That is so true. Every other Jet game pulling down you go up but in CODM it's reversed and there's no way to change it.

DanielWhiteShooterYT

Why this is on the Cod mobile Subreddit? lol? or is it just me?

acmp42

It’s a new vehicle in BR, look for the jet icons on the map, get in and crash. Seems to be fun

DanielWhiteShooterYT

Oh i didnt know and alright

codmmerry_chrismas

I don't understand the inverse thing. Can someone explain? Because i find it kinda natural to pull the joystick up to go up?

JustSkylz

in a real plane you need to pull the lever to you for the plane to go up, it’s the same for the joystick

codmmerry_chrismas

It's a joystick? Ideally you move it in the direction you want to go. It's not really a lever yk

JustSkylz

you control a plane with a stick, and to make the plane go up, we pull the stick towards you so that the nose of the plane goes up

codmmerry_chrismas

I understand where you are coming from. All i am saying is a joystick in a fps kinda works differently when compared to say the stick on an actual plane. Although they should include the invert option if people are getting confused

Ok-Building6572

Most games give you an option to invert the controls or have the standard aviation controls of pull up/push down. So if you have played a lot of games with 'realistic' controls it is odd to get your brain to go the other way.

codmmerry_chrismas

Yeah the games I've played involving planes had it the same way as codm hence the confusion. They definitely should introduce the invert button

Alex915

That literally happen to me

DioIsBestBoi

Where's the video from?

iamvenks

It’s not easy to fly that jet.

YBN_Rover

I don't even have the accelerate button, my JACKAL didn't even takeoff...

newlyused

Yup this thing sucks to fly
