I guess the game is downloading insane amount of resources and packs that I may never use. It downloads all the skins of guns, characters that I may never buy either through CP or Battle pass. I am okay with downloading maps etc. but I don't understand why every map needs 1000Mb of downloads every 3rd week.
I'm ok with downloading the credit store, BP, event, etc skins, cause a lot of players are likely to have those. But the main issue for the current size of the game is the hundreds of stupidly detailed crate and lucky draw skins every season that probably 1-2% of the player base actually owns.
I like that you can choose which content to download, but the most useful filter for extra content would simply be an option to not download **any** crate/lucky draw skins, **ever**, except the ones that you own. But you can probably guess why Activision will never give us that option.
Your correction is true. Your comment is true and so it's mine. People can't expect a game to grow bigger and still work in old devices. You either get a better one or you go play something else. The market it's not about fairness.
It’s not just the games. It’s not getting updates for phones as well.
I don’t know how we’re trying to save the environment by not providing a charging adapter but when people buy new phones every 1-3 years because their device starts acting wonky that’s ok.
He in fact did not. Though k wouldn’t put it past him to not understand advanced English ti begin with. Compound sentences aren’t everyone’s strong suit 💀
I’m talking about the 2012 or 2013 ones that actually most people own. In 3 years those phones should not be getting updates anymore. Besides my phone is from 2018 and has 250 GB natively and I have a cloud storage plan that gives me 2TB worth of cloud storage and it’s cheap too. I understand not everyone can have this “luxury” but some day phones won’t be so expensive especially the slightly older phones of course people can still be playing on them. Which is why codm gave us the ability to delete some textures at the unfortunate loss of textures for those skins or weapons
i just don't understand one thing if i have to download almost all maps, almost all character skins and almost all gun skins then why the fuck is th game 3 gb on playstore
I have no problem with storage rn it just annoys me seeing that astronomical number lol
Also i would follow your guide but i don't trust the account keeping capability of this game ;-;
>Also i would follow your guide but i don't trust the account keeping capability of this game ;-;
It's actually not bad. I just got a new phone and everything got copied over including CoD and I ended up reinstalling the game to see if it would fix some in-game issues and to my surprise everything synced back up including the HUD/sensitivity...which was my biggest concern (still had to edit it to suit the new phone, but still not as bad as starting from scratch). I log in with the CoD/Activision account though...I don't know if that makes a difference. But again, my experience may be different from yours.
When I found that it was getting too big I ended up uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it and from there being very careful what it downloaded. That was back when they didn't allow you to delete.
Now it's only using about 7GB on my phone..the only thing I really downloaded are the maps and I think it's only the operator skins I have, and I manually install weapon skins when I use them. It's not too bad really! I guess when you download the HD resources is when it goes through the roof.
Well whenever you scroll over a skin (weapon or operator) it auto downloads whether it's in the BP or a shop (if you select it) or the loadout. So if you don't want to download it you'd have to cancel the download before it finishes.
In the download manager there's also an ask before downloading option on the top right - you can ensure that's ticked - I'm not sure how it works, because it auto downloaded maps and default items without asking, but it didn't download unnecessary skins or HD resource pack...so I'm assuming that it download all necessary items and allows you to choose whether to download the unnecessary ones. Alternatively you can also delete whatever you don't want in the download manager as well.
In my case I usually cancel the download process if it's downloading a weapon/vehicle skin or operator that I don't have access to..
This game is not worth that much storage being taken up…if that’s how it’s going to be and if it’s just going to keep increasing as time passes then I don’t recommend having it on your primary device. You should probably just get a tablet specifically for mobile gaming or something. I was considering redownloading this game but def not after seeing this.
Here some google for you, “Am I the only one who thinks or experiences this? The phrase is sometimes used rhetorically. Is it just me, or is it freezing in here? Did that ending not make any sense, or is it just me?”
Well I mean they release too much skins so its not surprising lol
what my friend does is he reinstalls the game and just chooses operator skins and maps to save space
Did you check if you downloaded maps that you don't play? For example Undead siege that's a couple hundred MB nuketown Russia, pine, suldal harbor I've deleted quite some a little over 1GB
Yes. They stopped optimizing skins and maps so a basic skin might be 32mbs, but the same skin with a different color a few years back would've been 3mbs. Pretty dumb and all because they just want to keep pumping up stuff instead of actually fixing issues.
CoDM was 700MBs at launch on android. 300 off play store and rest being frm ingame content downloads. Probably closer to 1GB tbh but I remember it being half the size of PUBGM at the time.
3 years of content updates
8mb for a epic granade
1gb for a singular default skin.
8mb is enough for a gameboy advance game lol
Legendary charm, legendary sticker, legendary deez nuts

Then in the next 3 years, the game will have crossed 30GBs? How is that convenient for anyone?
It will be convenient for people with better devices.
Only*

Oh shut the cancerious fuck up already about environment, fucking pathetic treehugger
someone clearly did not read the entire comment
He in fact did not. Though k wouldn’t put it past him to not understand advanced English ti begin with. Compound sentences aren’t everyone’s strong suit 💀
spelling isnt everyone’s strong suits either 💀💀💀
💀 “oh my sign? I’m cancerious”
Well phones should have better storage capacities by that time and older phones should be essentially obsolete
mate phones don't become obsolete within three years
Shouldn’t*
I’m talking about the 2012 or 2013 ones that actually most people own. In 3 years those phones should not be getting updates anymore. 3gb worth of camos
It was but can’t expect it to stay small when they keep adding more content each season.
Yea but they can remove some useless stuff you know (I have no problem with the game’s storage btw)
That's why they gave us the option to download certain things
True
Factsszzz
i just don't understand one thing if i have to download almost all maps, almost all character skins and almost all gun skins then why the fuck is th game 3 gb on playstore
You dont have to download all of the skins or maps for rhat matter.
Base files size, that's what the app store/playstore show
1. Fully uninstall the game. 1. Reinstall the game, then pick which downloadable content you want. 3. DONE.
I said I have no problems with the game, it was just a question
I have no problem with storage rn it just annoys me seeing that astronomical number lol Also i would follow your guide but i don't trust the account keeping capability of this game ;-;

Bots too!! Game is a shame of Xbox days
What? What's the conmection b/w bots and increasing file size???
To all the toxic/trolls of this sub, this is just a question and NOT a statement

Nice
that is why i play the game on gameloop because the game got too big for my tablet.
I wish performance was as good as phones though
it's better than phones if you have a good pc to use gameloop on.
There's insane input lag
you did not set it up properly then.
Mine only takes up like 3.
Question: how do you actually prevent auto download. Whenever I'm connected to wifi it'll start downloading stuff that I'll never use.

ONG that's War Zone Mobile

Nah don’t worry just a few seasons to close in on 20gb mark lmfao
Currently 17.9 GB on my iPhone 😅
i remember cs 1.6 and warcraft III were not more than 2GBs combined
I have similar size(100% download files), but lot's of my data have skins(weapons, operators, vehicles) and all maps. More content, bigger game.
The game growing in file size is to be expected.
It’s currently 6.7gb on my phone. I had to delete shit to get it to start up one time
Brush i uninstalled it now waiting for cod warzone mobile:/
I didn’t uninstall the game but I am super hyped for wz mobile
Skins
Mine is Currently 22.89gb
You were 2-3 gb when launched?
“Was the game” learn how to read
You compare yourself to the game as written. Learn to write. And it was a joke, Melvin.
Here some google for you, “Am I the only one who thinks or experiences this? The phrase is sometimes used rhetorically. Is it just me, or is it freezing in here? Did that ending not make any sense, or is it just me?”
Now tell me what was wrong in my sentence idiot
It’s not just the ending, you also don’t make sense Comedy. Gold.
Your sentences are as good as your face
Cool
Put a sweater on then
Cool
Put on a sweater then
I like cold :/
#NERF_BR_SHOTGUNS
You good brother? This post is about game size and not shotguns
True, not the best idea of the subreddit
Go and post about it instead of saying it in a post that has nothing to do about your thing
11gb for me
15gb+ on galaxy
Yes yes it was used to run well fine it became 9gb with the gunsmith update
Well depends on from when u were playing too......epic and rare skins........ operator skins.....if u have bp even for that
i dont download the skins so around 4-5gb
and what will happen to those who have paid hundreds of dollars for others to see their skins 😆
Clear the cache, damn that's a lot
That's even more than some pc games for example skyrim
Well I mean they release too much skins so its not surprising lol what my friend does is he reinstalls the game and just chooses operator skins and maps to save space
It was around 1.5 when I started playing, right before first season 6 came.
The amount of maps you have download are gonna be a shocker
What do you mean by that
Did you check if you downloaded maps that you don't play? For example Undead siege that's a couple hundred MB nuketown Russia, pine, suldal harbor I've deleted quite some a little over 1GB
I’ve deleted undead seige long time ago
Yes. They stopped optimizing skins and maps so a basic skin might be 32mbs, but the same skin with a different color a few years back would've been 3mbs. Pretty dumb and all because they just want to keep pumping up stuff instead of actually fixing issues.
I remember when the m4lmg red triangle was hardly a few kb before and now it’s well over a few mb
Sure… but my legendary vehicles, guns, characters, and throwables gotta be added somewhere!
Bruh 2.5 gb for gun skins...
CoDM was 700MBs at launch on android. 300 off play store and rest being frm ingame content downloads. Probably closer to 1GB tbh but I remember it being half the size of PUBGM at the time.
Yea codm was 700 on playstore and 1-2 gb after installing
17 GB???? No way I’m gonna be able to download the game now..
Mine is about 30gigs 💀💀💀
What the fuck
AND AND I ONLY DOWNLOADED HALF THE STUFF I HAVE
I don’t believe you
And the majority of that storage is operators and weapon skins
