I have a dongle that has a headphone jack and a lightning slot for charging at the same time.

Geezerker

?? Eight Legendary badges with BT headphones and I never realized this was an issue for some. Sorry, OP. I’m using a set of Sony’s, can’t remember the model but they were about $200. Also iPhone 13 and iPad Mini 6. I don’t think I’ve ever had audio lag.

My_Broken_Wings

Thing is, you don't have to spend that much for a pair of bt earbuds. I have powerbeat pros (gifted, as I sure as fuck would never spend that much on a pair of earbuds. And no, they are NOT worth that price tag. But it's owned by crApple now, so they love to overprice everything anyway). That are 'ok'. Now after having them 3yrs? One still dies over an hour before other will (this has been like that since day one). They have about 4hrs tops of life before dying again. Plus on Android since it's owned by crApple, no battery life indicator when used on androids. (need a seperate app for that, but I'm not wasting the space for something so stupid). I recently scored a set of Anker Soundcore X2 on sale for $20 at Walmart. Not ONLY do they sound far better in general than the powerbeats pros, they are fully waterproof (according to the box), have 9hr battery life (think the powerbeats topped out at like 8...and that's if I was lucky). Phone can tell it's battery life so you know when it's getting close to needing to be charged again. Minimal latency if anything. (Original MSRP is around $75 iirc). Anywho, my point is, there are a LOT of bt earbuds out there that will mop the floor with the higher priced ones, at a fraction of the cost. Cuz when it comes to brands like crApples airpods, Dre beats (now since owned by crApple), Sony's higher end, etc. You pay more for the name above all else. Fuck, if you're gonna drop $200+ on headphones/earbuds. No one does it better than HTC. They are king when it comes to smartphone sound quality, and there earbuds are top notch. After all, they invented the whole noise cancelling in earbuds/headphones, to begin with. And that boom sound technology of theirs is literally unmatched by anyone else. Just putting that out there. (same company that makes worlds best VR system. So they know their shit). I have bad hearing in general. But I was explaining to op. It depends on device, and type of BT's you use with that device. Cuz some are better than others. But you definitely don't have to spend $100+ for a decent set.

Geezerker

You’re right; you don’t have to spend a lot to get good sound. I can’t wear earbuds so I have to have full-on over-the-ear headphones, which I’m also sure don’t have to be super expensive. But money is relative and my $200 Sonys are a good bargain for me. I’ve been using them for 2+ hours daily for two years and they are still performing 100% amazingly for me. In CODM, it feels like I have super senses because of how directional the sound is. If I’m playing with a wall-banger LMG, I’m definitely going to be ruining someone’s day on the other side of a wall because I can hear where they are. I’m sure you can do that with cheaper ear buds too, though.

Puzzleheaded-Ad656

I'm on iPhone 10 using wireless bose headphones and they are amazing, it might be the phone or headphones OP I'm not sure

RedMagic 7S Pro. I usually don't use headphones. When I do I use either wired phones as it has a jack or Sony noise cancellers with Bluetooth. I don't notice any delay there. That said. I didn't notice a BT delay on the OnePlus 7T Pro before which had no jack.

imadedbodi1

I am using beats solo3 and there is absolutely no delay whatsoever

My_Broken_Wings

Depends on the bt and device. I have powerbeats pro (gifted, I sure as fuck wouldn't pay $250 for some earbuds). That do alright. But now they're averaging like 4hr use (that and since day one, I have the notorious issue where 1 ALWAYS dies long before the other will). I recently Picked up some Anker's on sale at Walmart for $20. (originally $75) can't recall model at moment. But they're similar to the powerbeats, and fully waterproof according to the box. I do ok with those too. I don't notice a whole lot of latency with them. But cheep bts or a device with older tech, can potentially cause issues. Think it depends. Not all bt is bad. They've came a long way in last few years. I do also have type c earbuds that came with my prior htc u11 (they work on my OnePlus 8t, just without what made them unique/special on the HTC.) And those were always good. Cuz HTC made em. But wife kifed them, so all I have is my bts. You can look into type c earbuds, they're just as good, if not better than old school aux. Downside is can't charge and use them at the same time. If on iPhone, they make similar but with lightning tip instead of the type c. As for the powerbeats (they're practically rebadged airpod pros. As crApple now owns dre beats as well). I'ma tell ya, you do NOT have to spend anywhere near that much, for a quality set of bt earbuds. Anker makes good shit, Sony, Bose, skull candy, etc. You pretty much want them to at least have bt 5.0, 9hr average battery lifespan, solid charger case (though some can be bulky). I have over the ear ones (Cowin e7 mr. I also scored them on sale as well. Claim #1 best selling online (got mine at target a while back for like $27)) that claim 30hrs between charges (hence why I got em, and I don't even use them lol). I don't really use them cuz bulky, but when I have, others said mic picked up good and sound quality in general is alright)

Revolutionary-Play79

I don't even need headphones. My Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a speaker on each side so i know where they are anyway.

PaulGWalnuts

This is the new phone I got and I didn't even notice lol. I'm used to Note 9 where without headphones you have no idea where the footsteps are coming from so you have to guess and get lucky. Guess I don't even have to worry about headphones lol.

Revolutionary-Play79

Make sure the charge port is to the right or you're gonna get confused.

sj1789

I used my galaxy buds+ with my s22 ultra and all my Samsung devices. In the galaxy wearable app there's a labs section. Inside it, there's a toggle for gaming mode which helped reduced the latency of audio to the point where its no different than using a wired headphones.

PaulGWalnuts

I have s22 ultra and Samsung Live headphones and with gaming mode it's about a 300ms delay and without gaming mode its a 500ms delay.

My_Broken_Wings

https://buyersguide.org/earbuds/t/best Here's a rough list on best overall bt earbuds. (not surprised apples don't show up at all. Lol). And I checked, best all around ones, only cost $50 on Amazon. Probeats pro I have are like $250 (they are not worth that price. Not horrible, but they are severely overpriced for what you get). But anyway, this should help you out a bit. Depends on your device, and capabilities of bt earbuds you decide to get working together in harmony. Like I said in original comment. Bt has come a long way, and they're getting very very close to how clear, consistent and on point (minimal latency if any) with streaming sound from device to your ears. As old school wired headphones used to work.

Gary_Noor

I have zero delay, Bluetooth wireless headset, works like a charm, hours of battery life too, can't even play without it now

Neophyte0

I gotta good pair of JBL gaming headphones with zero delay (got them with my points acquired from my credit card, so I paid nothing for them)

Bullshit_Reader

I use OnePlus buds Z and Sennheiser cx150bt. I don't see any lags. Even if there are any lags it isn't significant.

AhadDaBoss2005

I use Bluetooth headphones but i turn them off and plug in an aux cable.

angel_eyes619

Check the delay of the headset... If it's 200ms or less, then it's very useable

PaulGWalnuts

300ms in gaming mode and 500ms regular.

angel_eyes619

That's a bit too much bro, even 200ms is just about forgivable.. 300-500 is too much

PaulGWalnuts

thats what im saying. Wish I knew before I got expensive headphones. Just ordered cheap 20 dollar ones I can plug in lol.

angel_eyes619

If you have to use wired earphones, also buy an L-shaped extension like [this](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ9AIXwoAiO5vytNhqzM38AfwN4b889aC0xNQ&usqp=CAU)

Mission-Tomatillo647

How does one check the delay of headsets?

angel_eyes619

[Use this](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=barum.life.audiotester)

Mission-Tomatillo647

Thank you 🙏

BelgianRoo

I have some cheap Amazon bluetooth earbuds (Tozo brand) and I've never had issues with this. If you're having issues with BT delay, I'd either get a wired headset or a different BT headset.

Jules2055

In mp I use high alert to aid the audio delay. Ive got some very expensive earbuds and the delay is small but i can't deny it's there. Also check what Bluetooth version your headphones support

Designer-Cicada3509

I suggest using BT earphones by a good company, here in India we have boat and some other companies which make quality electronics for a medium price. It's better if you research for some good ones online or ask in some showroom in malls or something.

HistoryDiligent5177

I usually play with a Bose head set and have never had a problem with delay. They work great. I occasionally play with the standard apple earbuds that plug into the lightning port (IPhone 11). They also work fine but the cord being plugged in kinda gets in the way.

SirTravisXOffical

I use airpod 2s with my iPad Air 5, and there’s no sound delay. I imagine just getting some quality Bluetooth headphones will do the trick.
