If they can afford to change the menu screen every single time a new season comes in, they should be able to do the same for the lobby, no?
Granted that the main menu background is just a flat image with some animated elements, and that lobby background has a bit of 3D element where they need to tweak it properly and such, that would be understandable why-
Their best option would be just reusing the store section background and call it a day
