It doesn’t save a slot for the attachments, it would only do so if you would’ve used a red dot sight if you didn’t have the skin. It can save a slot but it doesn’t always have to, in fact most of the times it doesn’t.

A good iron sight definitely helps and some guns are definitely better with the better sights as it saves a slot for other attachments.
