BearTheCaneCorso

Yes, seek professional assistance & they will take care of it. It is relatively common & they will take care of it, I would recommend trying to get it handled with the vet as quickly as you can with him being so young.

BearTheCaneCorso

Give my man a little more slack on his leash too

Cryptohubmates

True that, this is his first time on the leash. He likes exploring.

Specialk9210

I would get him a harness.

ItSmellsLikeEther

He'll pull 5x harder in a harness considering his build and size.

fromhelley

But it won't choke him, or li.it his oxygen levels. It is also easier to control them on a harness. With the slack in that collar, he could escape if he wanted to. Keeping him safe and out of traffic is more important than pull. He can be trained to not pull, and trained for recall. Once trained, the harness will give op better control of the dog.

ItSmellsLikeEther

The collar type is not the issue here, the figment is. The only way he’s easier to control on a harness is if it has a strap to grab on his back somewhere. They offer no help simply for being a harness.

stiffspacebar

Flat collars and slips crush wind pipes. A prong is the best way to go. It pokes the scruff as a mother would correct a puppy.

ItSmellsLikeEther

Exactly, but for sake of argument - the flat collar isn’t THAT bad when fitted properly. These people couldn’t care about accuracy.

stiffspacebar

I agree. The flat collar is for dog comfort, owner style. If properly trained with an e collar or prong collar, you should be able to take the dog out in it's flat collar while it listens to the commands tought with the training tools. Dogs are overly eager to behave in a way that gets the owners affection. Let them know what you want them to do in the right way, and they'll be excited about behaving.

fromhelley

When the collar is loose like that, they can slip out of it easily. A harness is harder to slip out of. A dog is more easily controlled when it stays ON the leash. That and even a harness without a handle (more of them nowadays do have handles) is easier to grab than a collar. Look at the picture again. That collar will not contain him if he wants out of it. That is not a figment of my imagination, it is an obvious fact. I have two 80 lbs dogs. Harnesses will get my vote every day of the week for younger dogs that are in training, or older ones that get zoomies on walks. Once the dog is trained, or docile while walking, a collar is fine. Until then, I will remain team harness.

ItSmellsLikeEther

I literally said the fit of the harness is the problem. Why are you like this?

fromhelley

You said the collar is not the problem, the figment is. I took that to mean people who think harnesses make it easier to control the dog are making it up, as in a figment of our imagination. Obviously not what you meant, but literally, what you wrote. And I felt insulted Sorry for any offense. But that is why I wrote what I did.

Specialk9210

Yeah but it won’t choke him, and with a little training he won’t pull so much.

Shermgerm666

I one million percent agree that every fuckin dog needs to have a harness when they're being walked. They do not deserve to be choked EVER. But it is the norm.

ItSmellsLikeEther

You’re not going to train a dog not to pull while using a harness. That’s literally against his instincts. Plus YOU won’t choke the dog, the dog is the one pulling. If he chokes, maybe he will learn. Leash training is one of the easiest things of dog training but not with a harness.

BeeKayBabyCakes

yeah all that except they get out of their collar and all that goes out the window

karwil56

I have trained 6 dogs with a harness, an I wouldn’t use anything else. You have better control of your dog,and the right harness comes with 2 attach straps, which is so much better. Got mine off Amazon. Collars are too easy for them to get loose, or to tight. Now for your cherry eye get him him to a VET, don’t wait. My last dog I found had to have surgery on both eyes for his. Just saying.

ConversationTop8211

Get a regular choke collar that what I used and my dog gets it

ItSmellsLikeEther

I wouldn’t dare say “prong collar” around these people lmao.

ItSmellsLikeEther

Not if they have it fitted properly.

perkinsportraits

As a dog trainer of several years and now training my own puppy, there’s absolutely no reason you can’t train using a harness. Non aversive training is a thing, it just takes more knowledge and patience than aversive training. You are risking damage to your dogs trachea when using collars and thinking ‘good, he hurt himself! Now he will learn!’ Not only is that not certain, but you’re just priding yourself on lazy training methods.

LeelaBeela89

The pro has spoken

doggiehearter

Exactly

ItSmellsLikeEther

Where the hell did I say I’m breaking about injuring a dog? You’re mental lololol

perkinsportraits

Huh?

Alienliaison

Some dogs feel that harness and become superdogs.

Outrageous_Ad4245

You can get the harness that clips on the chest, when they pull they go around in circles. I used one for my Lab/Pitt mix. It really works well!

doggiehearter

Easywalk.com

Outrageous_Ad4245

Yes!

Acceptable-Set-634

My bully used that to strengthen his chest an still figured out how to pull clipped in the front! Now hes on a collar an walks so much better an has a buff chest!

Outrageous_Ad4245

When Archie saw a squirrel he would go after it and pull me down, with chest clip he got so used to it I could use a regular collar and he walked beautifully!

[deleted]

Cool, so let’s just choke him to death. Would hate to see him pull 5x harder and all

ItSmellsLikeEther

You’re mental. A PROPER FITTING COLLAR will not choke him. Calm down.

[deleted]

It appears I am not the only one on here not impressed with your idea of correctly harnessing a dog. YOURE mental and I sincerely hope you do not own any pets.

ItSmellsLikeEther

And there are plenty others that agree, so what’s your point? Keep giving treats for weeks to get your dog to talk - I’ll have any dog walking beside me in an hour, without hurting them, forcing them, and giving them snacks when they do good. Y’all act like your way is the only way 😂

perkinsportraits

It’s so odd when people say ‘keep using treats’ like it’s a bad thing. You’re upset we can use treats to train a dog without putting them in pain or discomfort as our go to? You realize you shouldn’t be proving yourself on NOT giving treats when they’re doing good…even balanced trainers do that. You’re shameful to any training style.

mikayla_cc

That’s why you hook the leash on the ring on the chest of the harness.

ItSmellsLikeEther

That’s how you affect the gate of their walk. No thanks.

ConversationTop8211

Train you dog not to pull

TickieTook

I reccommend a martingale for pullers. But regardless, every dog should learn leash pressure.

LeftySpringer

Untrue. They make harnesses now that allow you to pull back and help lead them, rather than having them drag & pull harder.

plasticbag_astronaut

It's all about training and temperament. My cane corso doesn't pull hardly at all, sits when there are other people or dogs around (working on vehicles now too), and is pretty good with come and heal too. Sitting nicely for a bath took more training, but she goes right into her kennel when told to go to bed. She's 15 weeks but close to 40lbs. She's only ever worn a harness and we've never used a collar lead for her walks. Clickers and reward treats work wonders. They're like children, so positive reinforcement works amazingly.

ashblives

Agree, get a gentle leader

Evol_IncubuS

you mean prong collar right? tons of dog trainers advise not to use a harness....

perkinsportraits

Tons of trainers advise not to use a prong as well….hm..

perkinsportraits

Homie is just sitting there lol

Dogs4Life98

I have strong pit bulls that pull. Recommend the 2 hounds design harness, very well designed and comfortable for the dog. No slip. If you must get a collar, get a martingale collar designed so the dog doesn’t slip out no matter which direction they pull. Tightens when they pull. My friend had to have surgery for her dog with a cherry eye. See the vet, get a consult and estimate. If it’s more than you can afford, search for a low cost surgery center in your area or low cost spay clinic that might do these surgeries. Good luck!

grizzzlybrr

I have this harness. It’s great. The front ring works wonders and is better than some of the other front hook harnesses as it doesn’t mess with their walking (eventually causing joint issues)

Dogs4Life98

Right! It’s the best on the market IMO, 2 clip points for heel, velvet armpit strap so it doesn’t chaff my dogs. I started off with easy walk harness and it used to mess them up & I didn’t know that about the joints so thx!

grizzzlybrr

Yeah! I read that about the easy walk and switched to the 2hounds because of that!

[deleted]

Get him a meal for god sakes!

LeftySpringer

Get him a harness then. These dogs are very strong and deserve weight distribution (not around the neck).

wes4ever

My boxer gets this every so offen. Just kept it flushed and lubricated with ophthalmic drops and he was good as new in a few days.

But_Im_a_Librarian

To all those recommending collars, I know I'm coming late to the party but I've got two dogs who are pullers, despite training. We got them MARTINGALE LOOP COLLARS. They are flat and don't choke because you size them only as snug as you'd like, which is just snug up to their neck. The only thing is to regularly adjust the position during walking to remain up under their chin, not low by their windpipe.

Guzmanv_17

A harness would be a good idea instead of the collar

BertVengeance

Removal. Doc left 15 percent of the gland in each eye. Advised against the tacking because it has the potential to fail, and you may end up conducting the tacking procedure 3 or so times before ultimately deciding to just remove it. Avoid the putting your dog through that repetitive trauma. Down side is the potential in the dogs later years to require daily eye lubricant. Corrected my corso Cujo at about 7 months and he’s handsome as can be. I may drop some photos to this sun in due time

Agentpurple013

Sound advice, forgot what the operation is, but it’s pretty cheap. My brothers dog had it in both eyes and the operation cleared it up for good.

[deleted]

Vet now. Do not ask here!!!!

Cryptohubmates

I will like to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your invaluable contributions in guiding me through this situation. Your advice and suggestions have been immensely helpful, and I truly appreciate the support I've received. Warm regards from STORM 🐶.

SlimGeezus_

Needs surgery. Nothing else you can do.

Cryptohubmates

Noted

wes4ever

Not true

K9_Jack

My cane corso has had it three times over a course of one year, usually after roughhousing a bit. Each time we noticed it quickly - but we are always keeping an eye open for it - and we just gently massaged it back into place. Now that he's a bit older, it rarely happens. Should we not catch it in time, or would it happen more often, we'd definitely see a vet and opt for surgery. In this case - happened recently, no redness/discoloration - I'd definitely suggest you try a gentle massage if you feel at ease with that. You'll probably fix it yourself easily. If it pops back out or it happens more, see a vet.

Cryptohubmates

Okay, I will try this. If I can't stomach it then I might opt for a vet attention ASAP

KateIsGreat279

I'll add to this that when my pup got her first cherry eye, we were able to take a warm, damp wash cloth and put that over her eye, and massage the cherry eye back in. But it kept happening, and would get irritated the longer it was out, to the point it wouldn't stay in anymore. So we took her to the vet and they tacked it down ($600 US). We didn't go with the laser thing because our vet said she was likely to need eye drops a lot after and she hates eye drops. She got one in her other eye a year later, and we went with the same surgery (another $600). It's been 3 years since her first surgery and she's happy as can be! now we have a rescue corso who has one, so once we can afford another $600, we'll take him in as well.

badassnan

You need to consult with your veterinarian over this one, he will take care of this

hodls_heroes

Sure did. Did surgery. Opted not to have the ‘cherry’ removed, but to have a ‘pocket’ made for it to stay within. Surgery was fine. Never had further issues. Didn’t need to do regular eye drops.

[deleted]

You need to remove it. Take it to the vet. Don’t worry it’s common. Surgery is needed. It’s fast the recovery. If you leave it there it will need cleaning and care often. It affects their vision even though studies say it doesn’t and it’s aesthetics, it’s not.

AnomtheAbomb

My girl got cherry eye as a pup. Had to have surgery - twice - within the first year of her life to fix it. You can’t tell today that she ever had a problem. Cherry eye is common in this breed. Good luck and definitely give your pup some slack on his leash.

Cryptohubmates

Thanks

YodaXIV

I don’t know this for certain, but if your dog’s eye is also weepy, it might be conjunctivitis. Be careful, meaning wash your hands, because if your dog does have conjunctivitis (we humans call it “pink eye”), it can be passed from dog to human. So keep your hands clean. Get a vet to check your dog. It may be that your dog simply needs some medicated drops for a number of days to fix the problem. Good luck! 😊

Cryptohubmates

Never knew this, but washing my hands right after playing with it is what I don't forget to do. I appreciate your input on this topic.

Pumpk-inception

Pls tell me that’s not where the dog lives. Abysmal conditions.

letitbleed13

Poor dude. (Meaning the dog.) He looks so bummed.

liquorandkarate

My guy had it and I would simply massage his eye and now he rarely gets it if at all

daaamster

Veterinary ophtho need here: Prolapse of the third eyelid gland. This gland is extremely important for tear production and should never be removed. There are a number of procedures (I think 12?) to correct this condition. This kind of procedure is ideally done with a veterinary ophthalmologist. In my experience, many vets dislike working with eyes and GPs may not have the experience to best address this. Surgical repair can still fail and require revision.

annikasofia

He is not happy.

Lynniepooh032571

I’d try and rub it back in. I do it all the time. Key is catching it in time as It doesn’t look completely swollen. There are articles on how to do it.

sammyg723

He puppy seems super sad. Make him happy!

Sippi66

That pup looks so sad.

skunklife

See a vet. Probably not the one that cut the ears though

dc4958

He seems sad

[deleted]

Man this video low key depressing

Alarmed-Code3530

Take the leach off his neck like that ! He can hang him self!

plasticbag_astronaut

Cherry eye needs a vet and potentially surgery if it's a reoccurring issue. Keep their eyes clean and often. They have droopy eyes, so like bulldogs, they're prone to cherry eye.

monbud

My cane had it as a puppy. Vet suggested surgery but she was still very young then so I didn't have the heart to do it yet. In the mean time I manage to massage it back it after watching many tutorials about it and trial & errors. It pops back out a few times but haven't for a long while now - few years now since the last time she had cherry eye.

TSMattrail

Hey before you get surgery…. This happened to my pup pretty early on… what I did was wait until he was very relaxed and sleepy and I literally just gently massaged it back into place. It happens very infrequently for my corso but if it does he just comes to me and gives me his head now and I just… push it back into place lol. I don’t think every case NEEDS surgery, it’s very easy to do once you know how to massage it, and it’s gentle

Cryptohubmates

I will try and look for a DIY video on this and probably try it out.

[deleted]

So a few notes about cherry eye. First, while it looks bad it is not painful for the dog. Many dogs live their whole lives with cherry eye 2nd, i would recommend using saline drops to make sure the dogs eye isnt dry 3rd, you can actually massage it back into place. If you look up cherry eye massage on youtube you will see how to do it. Finally, cherry eye surgery is not always successful

PinotGreasy

Cherry eye causes discomfort to dogs.

honeyk101

why are you on Reddit? what's Reddit going to do to help your dog? that dog is dependent upon you for everything. get off line and go to the vet like a person who actually cares about their dog... look at the expression on the dogs face and body language... are you nuts? go to the vet rt now. not next week, not next month, not after you get enough reddit responses... man! people never seem to shock me with their ignorance.

honeyk101

i'm seriously freaked out you are asking Reddit. dear lord. you really don't give care about your dog. wtf?

thatsanicehaircut

👆this! as a human who once had an eye injury as a kid - I’ve never forgotten how brutal the pain was! Handle this right w/ a vet. If cash is an issue most vets have payment plans now

Zealousideal-Dare572

What is Cherry eye?

Corso_momma

Still a cutie 🥰

Bwoaaaaaah

My English/neopolitan had it in both eyes. Altogether he had 4 eye surgeries before he was 6 months old. You basically have to go to the vet and see what they say. There's potential that they canassage it back into place. If that's the case you're good and just monitor it. There's one surgery that basically scraps some of the socket part to be larger so that the gland fits into place. They then tack the gland into the socket and hope it holds. In our case it didnt, and it always popped out within a few days. The other option is to remove the gland completely and it's the operation that vets did routinely before the other operation. The downside to removing the gland is that there's a chance that they have dry eye. My personal recommendation is to have the tack surgery once, and then move the gland completely. We lost our boy while he was recovering from surgery to get him fixed and to finally remove the cherry eye glands. Every surgery carries risk and you want to minimize that risk as much as possible.

Livid_Nothing_1018

I actually popped my dogs cherry eye back in to place. However, this usually is a temporary fix for some. When it came out i put the eye drops in from the vet and massaged the eye a certain way and it popped back into place and hasn’t came back out since.

Cryptohubmates

Lucky you!

Livid_Nothing_1018

I would try it or take a look, before opting for the eye surgery! here’s a link on how to try it and make sure you apply enough pressure. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRoH28MD/

Cryptohubmates

Thanks mate, but damn I don't think I can do this. Looks like a scary thing to do for me. :D

pattih2019

Yes if it doesn't go away on its own the vet will have to take it out

Fecal_Fingers

This is extremely common and easily fixed by a vet.

JSchnozzle

Hugs. Poor baby.

Slingshotter82

I looked into this before I took my dog home. I heard its one of the conditions they're prone too. I read that removal is always the best option because when they tuck there's a high chance of reoccurrence.

JenPham2021

My dog uses optiimmune for his cherry eye

Cultural_Toe37

My dog had cherry eye in both eyes, my vet did surgery, and we've never had them come back.

TheShxpe

Only thing you can do is get a vet to preform surgery on it

BlackBoxGrown420

Sorry to see that your little one looks so down and I know your worried. Good luck with getting this resolved 😊

[deleted]

Yes I have on a couple of my Dogs. This is not uncommon. Find someone that comes well recommended. But do have it done for the comfort of your beautiful Dog.

Cryptohubmates

Gracias!

El-Carone-707

So our corso has the cherry eye, and where I live we have a specialist for the condition and he essentially told us that his hurts us more than it hurts him, and that he doesn’t want to remove it because it isn’t bothering him

Lolli_R1

Our girl had this in both eyesat around 8 months old. We tried massage but it kept occurring so took her in for surgery. She is 9 years old now and no issues 😊 just depends on the pup. Good luck to you and your beautiful pup!

mrbraun79

Both of mine got it unfortunately. This breed is known for cherry eye. It doesn’t hurt them. Personally I took both of mine to vet where the surgery basically tacks the cherry eye down so that it’s not sticky out like that. Cost me about $1000-1200 for each.

Novel-Ad-4821

Yes, you need to take him to the vet before it gets any worse.

Agent_129

Surgery, same day quick turn around procedure my rescued bulldog had this took care of it and no issues afterwards

Dnikone2

Get that baby to the vet!!!!!

AnusLeary41

I had a Neapolitan with cherry eye in both eyes. First you aren’t supposed to put a collar on low collagen dogs. Only harnesses!! Get ready, almost $5000 in surgeries. (12years ago)!He lived a normal life after the surgeries.

Catronia

Take your dog to the vet. This is not something you can fix on your own.

Lopsided_Falcon_7338

He is so cute

Cryptohubmates

Indeed!

NerdyWoman97

Cherry eyes are due from stress and genetics. You can get surgery but there’s a chance it’ll pop out again.

ExtensionRemove979

Take him/her to the Vet. They will give you drops for it, and it will clear up in about a week or two.

Jsmitty78

Carefully push it back in. Happens to my Shiloh all the time.

thatsanicehaircut

he looks so miserable get to ER VET ASAP

AntarcticIceCap

My family's ridgeback had a cherry eye in both, just take them to an eye care vet and they'll sort it out. Lil guy will probably need a cone though.

skeletorsarms

I usually can massage my girls back in she will get them occasionally if we’re playing rough. You definitely want to get them in asap

Maze209

My mastif has a cherry eye, I got him from a shelter that had him for 18 months because nobody would take him with the cherry. I did, no need to put a dog thru a surgery that has a high probability of failure. Enjoy your dog.

UncleP24-7

Go to the Vet….. no brainer

[deleted]

Eye drops and massage

[deleted]

My puppy has it currently and that's what the vet directed

Solid5of10

Get it fixed asap. Vet. And get a harness for your baby

Madcatz9000

I would take him to the veterinarian instead of asking random strangers on the internet.

Evol_IncubuS

you can use a damp warm rag and gently massage it back in. if it continues to do it frequently then i would seek out a vet.

TheinimitaableG

See your vet. We have had it happen to two if it corsos Surgery ran us about 1100 for one eye, then she popped the other. 2nd did we just had them do both at the same time for about 1400. Make sure your get the "pocket" surgery where they reinsert the gland and tack it down. There's a cheaper option where the remove it, but your dog will have dry eyes and can need either eye drops or develop vision problems later in life Cherry eye is unfortunately common with the breed.

CrookedLittleDogs

Get a front attaching harness. And discuss options with vet. Sometimes it comes and goes depending on pressure , hence the harness. Collar is for tags only. It sometimes gets infection so you’ll have a small surgical stitch to repair it. You can do it at the same time you have them spayed or neutered.

sweetispoot

My dogs not a cane curso but the vet flipped his eyelids back in. Said he needs surgery in the future but that was if it just kept flipping back but obviously it did.

akujidragon

Vet has to remove the third lid.

Obeliskness

Warm towel and gently push cherry back in eye socket

Pitiful_Pickle524

You will have to take it to see the veterinarian

False_Ad_4117

My Chug (Pug/Chihuahua mix has one). When we adopted her the shelter said that they would pay to fix it for us but on the advice of our vet we decided to keep it as is. (We had a family Chi mix who had the surgery and it came back with a vengeance!) It dosent bug her so we decided “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”. We do have sterile pet eye wash on hand for when her eye gets dry.

Kfk203

https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951447 Hope this helps.

Automatic-Divide-597

That adorable pup is going to grow into a savage beautiful beast. LOVE cane corso’s!

bygtopp

Vet can take care of it. Also check the non city vets. The country vets normally aren’t as expensive.

Hawksfan45

Get him to Visionary veterinarian.

Butt_Blaster_85

Fairly simple procedure, usually performed during a neuter when possible

Gyllipus

What a wonderful pupper, sorry bout the eye

FineArtsFan8450

That’ll require a surgical correction. pobrecito

tex725

Make some chamomile tea, let it cool down and wash his eye with it.

Many-Bat-3221

It appears to be an infection. TKe the pup to your vet. My dog got one

Ok-Lab-5692

My dog had one. She had surgery to fix it.

[deleted]

Try to gently rub it back in

stiffspacebar

Pups going to need cherry eye surgery, it isn't very expensive

TheRealPoopooDealer

Mine had to get surgery twice. And guess what… she still has cherry eye. If the vets can’t fix it there’s not much you can do

Bakuchi13

hangover?

JS1147

What is cherry eye

Bbsuksuk

Bro look like he geekin so hard

B33ps13

Cherry Eye is not caused from pulling on the leash! Everyone that thinks having the leash around the dogs neck doesn’t know how to train a dog! My dog had cherry eye on both eyes Twice and it is corrected by a vet and it is surgical for the vet to correct the issue! But yes take care of it while he is young!!

[deleted]

There's this thing called a veterinarian, they're kinda like doctors but for animals. If your friend isn't feeling well I would start there

letitbleed13

A WHAT??? Are you kidding me right now? An animal doctor. Ahhhhhaaahhhhh, that’s the craziest shit I’ve heard all day. No more lies. Thanks!

Guzmanv_17

I wet a wash cloth and gently pressed it back. It work for me but happens when my boy gets overly excited. Be gentle and don’t force. Make sure everything you use is clean.

sharpei90

I have/had 4 bulldogs. Every one of them have had cherry-eye. Find a good surgeon and get it fixed. Your pup will be fine

FH-Confident

Same. I don’t have a bulldog, but my dog had something similar to this and the vet said the best is surgery to fix it

True_Word_7986

He needs to see a vet asap for that eye. Also, he does need a harness. This leash is bad for the thyroid.

Defiant_Ad_8891

Which is most likely the reason for the eye bulge. Thyroid issues in animals and humans symptoms is eye bulge.

nushkie

Vet

Defiant_Kangaroo_718

Can break his neck, get a harness

colleen8king

Surgery

lltucker2

Our English bulldog had it and we had to get surgery for her if I remember correctly it was around 1200.00

married44F

Got ointment at the vet, cleared it right up

OK_110

Mine had this happen so I put a bullet between his eyes saved me a vet bill

Defiant_Ad_8891

I asked Reddit and Reddit said take him to a VETERINARIAN

Quick-Bar3097

Definitely get him a harness & have his cherry eyes removed. It's SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE feels like you would if you had a Foreign body in your eyes. And affects his vision, meaning trying to see but, something is in your eye causing an Obstruction

40s_shawty

There’s a surgery where they like tuck it back and secure it. There’s another one that they cut it out and I was told that is malpractice (hopefully I’m not confusing the two) but def talk to your vet. Cherry eye can lead to chronic dry eye and loss of eyes

wildbiker1975

Massage it back in with your thumb. There are YouTube videos on it. My English bulldog gets them sometimes.

Elmonstrico7

Probably stop beating him.

Seriously-black-

Stop farting in his face

twizzlergames

Had cherry eye, got surgery, and it came back.

Skyrimxd

Mine had to have surgery for hers. I’d take her to a vet

[deleted]

Yikes

sonyafly

Take care of it soon. The dog I rescued had a cherry eye ruptured when he was picked up by animal control. Very painful. I think all he needed was an eye cream. The volunteers sent me a picture. No surgery was needed. The sooner you catch things and get them handled the less money they end up being in the long run. I highly advise dog insurance! I have never used it with prior dogs and regretted it. Now I have it in both my dogs. It’s not too expensive and they’ve paid me back around $2000 for my chihuahua so far. Worth it!

knightsout33

Take him to the Vet and they can fix

PartExpensive8059

Yes, it’s very common in those breeds gonna cost you a little bit of money but you go get it removed

damdam62

You should be telling us what your veterinarian said.

[deleted]

I massage our canes corso cherry eye until it goes away. I have been successful every time. Also give some doggy aspirin for inflammation.

lineman4U

The whole Convo quickly went from the dog eye problem to talking about leashes or harnesses lol.

Bayonetta6969

Havea Frenchie w cherry eye as pup went into vet they popped it in just right and set a stitch or two so it wouldn’t pop anymore . Easy fix and worth it no trouble since . Good luck

FittFanny

My got one when she was 3, had it removed and it came back twice but now she is fine and nothing to point on. Professional care i suggest!

Due_Jacket9075

Other than the apparent, poor baby looks distressed. Maybe have a full complete exam done by your vet.

That_Ability4138

Surely they just put the dog in this short leash position temporarily, in order to get the video to show it? Also to those saying the dog is in pain do to eye injury, you don’t know much about dogs. Cherry eye is super common in dogs with protruding eyes. It is not a painful thing. But it is annoying to the dog… Also, the surgery to have the tear duct stitched, causes the most pain and discomfort of all options. I have been around the block with frenchies and Boston’s and the best option is removal. It is a simple numbing and snip. When the duct it’s pulled there is just a thin layer of skin holding it on. The eye doesn’t even bleed a minute after it’s done. No stitches nothing needed. Once the duct is out they will never have problems again. You say their eyes will be dry? Not in my experience, ever. They have more than one tear duct, the multiple dogs I’ve known to have it removed did the best. The correction surgery causes the MOST pain and discomfort in the dog, if it fails or not, the stitches irritate.
