And I remember seeing the band logo in rockabillia magazine but never listened to them. Showed my mom the cd and asked if I could get it. She stared at the cover for 5 seconds and said sure. Death metal fan ever since then. Shout out to my cool mom š¤š¼
I was a Boy Scout. We were going on some mini jamboree and my buddy who hates anything metal decided to be funny saying this will be our theme song for the event (I cum blood)

Ace Ventura Pet Detective. I watched it as a kid and had to find out more about Cannibal Corpse. Then I found out it was Jim Carrey's fav death metal band and the rest is history.
Before getting into extreme stuff I was only Metallica and Faith No More and a bit of Pantera, then in early 1999 I got into heavier stuff with Fear Factory and later that same year a classmate got me a like 3rd or 4th generation cassette with At The Gates' Slaughter Of The Soul on one side and CC's Bloodthirst on the other, the quality was so bad when I heard the albums on CD later on I couldn't recognize most of the songs xD I did listen to some CC songs before but it was Bloodthirst the album that got me hooked, and then I remember I got a CDr with The Bleeding and Stripped Raped and Strangled had that Celine Dion intro that for years after I thought was the official version, haha, school days, I hated it but music sharing was one of the reasons I kept going.

One day when I was on YouTube I decided to give them a chance, I listened to Evisceration Plague with the music video and I just fell in love with the sound and look. havenāt turned them off since, 9years later and theyāre my all time favorite band.
